It's Kate trying to correct my answer--I meant to say that Dior does NOT test on animals! I don't know how to edit my above answer sorry Dior. They are on the list I gave that lists many cruelty free companies.

It appears so, as I think most/ many companies are these days, but always good to check. This website seems to give the most comprehensive cruelty free list, BUT just because a company is not on it does not mean they are not cruelty free. http://www.idausa.org/facts/oldcrueltyfree.html

No, they absolutely do not!

Dior's spokesmodel is Natalie Portman. She is vegan and an animal rights activist.

Question
Did anyone else experience eyelash fallout from WP Blackout?
I really love WP Blackout, but I have been noticing that every time I try to gently remove the mascara with waterproof eyemakeup remover, a few eyelashes fall out. Anyone else experience this? Any suggestions? I don't want to stop using WP Blackout! I find regular Blackout to smudge too much.

To me this mascara feels very smudgy and it is impossible to take it off with a regular eye make up removal. If you use something, which is more lotion-like , I am sure it will be more gentle on your eyes and lashes. I tried the one from Dior and it worked well.

I have not, but I also use Dior's Eye Makeup Remover. Dual something... can't think of the full name at the moment. Just make sure you saturate the cotton or whatever you use and leave the product on your lashes for a few seconds to let it start breaking down the mascara before you start swiping and rubbing it off. It comes off really easily for me.

you may be removing it with a less-than-great remover. try lancome (the waterproof one) and you should be able to see less lash loss. also, using a cotton pad soak the remover on your lashes to penetrate before gently wiping. try not to tug or rub too hard. THAT is what will make you lose your lashes.

I have noticed with all waterproof mascaras that eyelashes do tend to fall out easier, but thats probably because we tend to tug more at our lashes when removing it. I use oil free eye makeup remover for waterproof from Neutrogena to get the DS Blackout wp off and it works for me!

We suggest waiting a minute or two for the mascara to dry down. Once it dries it'll be waterproof, smudgeproof and won't run while your swimming.

I have had luck removing it with the Sephora brand waterproof makeup remover, but try Lancome's Bi-Facil. That one will remove the most stubborn stuff! If that doesn't do the trick for you, try a dab of vaseline. Sounds gross, but vaseline will remove even the most stubborn stage makeup!

My Victoria's Secret makeup remover gets this all the way out. It's expensive at $10.00 a bottle but I bought it at the semi-annual sale for $2.50, and when it runs out I'll buy another full price because I've tried other brands including the ones you named and this is still the best I've ever used. I really love DS Blackout Waterproof, so I really need get it all off at the end of the day to prep for the next day!

U can use Warm water when washing. Always but this on as your last coat of mascara. I use another brand, but always reach for my Dior as a last coat. No running mascara, but comes off with face wash.

Question
Does this mascara hold a curl?
I have short and very straight Asian lashes, and every time I curl them and put on mascara, the curl totally straightens out. This happened to me with a ton of mascaras like Clinique, Too Faced, and Lancome..

I haven't tried Blackout, but I find that DiorShow Waterproof keeps the curl all day and night. I try to stay away from heavier and creamier formulas since that weigh down my lashes and get rid of the curl.

It sure does! Try curling then applying this mascara. Once it dries, it shouldn't move an inch. Some people complain about this, because it's hard to take off. Boscia's cleansing products do the trick. :)

I have tried the "DiorShow Waterproof Mascara" and the "DiorShow Black Out Waterproof Mascara". I honestly think that the 'Black Out' lengthens better than the DiorShow one. As for a curl I think it depends on your eyelash curlers. “Shu Uemura” and “Shiseido” are my top fav's right now. I have not tried the original "DiorShow Mascara" but I hear it's very good, and very similar to the "DiorShow Waterproof Mascara", one is just waterproof and the other is not.
Hope this helped!

I would say so, but being that you are dealing with pool chlorine and heat, I do not recommend wearing eye makeup while swimming. My experience with dior mascara in the past has been where when it gets wet or rubbed into the eyes, it can burn. Then again, that's probably true for all eye makeup.

I've tried many make up remover... unfortunately, nothing comes off!
Suprisingly, I manage to remove it WITHOUT an expensive make remover
You only have to use baby oil!
It is so simple, just soak a side of a Q-tip and gently rub it on the eye lashes until everything comes off
Then, wash your face with soap, and voila! =D

If you try to use soap and water, you will be scrubbing and basically destroying the delicate skin around your eye, and probably ruining your lashes too. I use the Sephora brand eye makeup remover that's formulated for waterproof makeup, and it removes this mascara quickly and easily.
