I used the serum prep in combination with the other products, and found that it just made me break out. I stopped using the other products, and I still like the serum prep. According to their info, the serum prep has a higher concentration of active ingredients than do their other products. So in conclusion, it helps the other products go on smoother, but I find it's not even necessary to complement it with other products besides, of course, a moisturizer. (I recommend the moisturizer from Perricone's sensitive skin line (green jar), which is less greasy).

Yes it will help with your other products. You should try it and use it before your serum.

People usually refer to this as the toner, and indeed it is applied as one. I found that it works just as well as the other, more expensive products in the line, and it doesn't break me out as much because it's so light and not as heavily fragranced. I've read that you don't need a toner if the cleanser you use is pH-balanced.

I had some burning also in addition to some redness on my nose. I think that there are better products out there that are better. Linda in Texas

Yikes! I have had that kind of skin too! I don't think it's sold here but a product that has helped me a lot is roche posay effaclar, also retin-a.. it is specifically for oily sensitive skin. Not cheap but works. Nice drug stores have it or online. Also the terminator by acne free (micronized benzoyl peroxide), use it on the clogged areas only. Use purified water when you rinse your face not tap (chlorine and those byproducts could be worsening your skin as they did mine). Be careful of all products you put on your skin (korres are awesome too for primers and lotions). It will take time to break up the clogs but if you persist with the roche posay or something similar it WILL get better. Wash your pillow case often !(rosacea is a side effect of skin mites -- some people lack enzymes to break down skin mite excretions - and we all have skin mites!) Also eat a good diet with enough fatty acids and vitamins (walnuts, green vegetables, salmon etc). Really helps!

I have started using this about 2 weeks now, along with the ceramic skin smoother. I love this because I felt it working right away and saw results in my neck and jaw line firming in a few days. Yes I will agree with the cost. It would be nice if it was a little cheaper. I have found I can get the saves using oil olay moister creams instead of more expensive ones.

seekformerme - I'm not currently using a serum either, but I use the Serum Prep before putting on my moisturizer. If your current routine is working fine, then there's no need to buy a serum (unless you want to). I agree, it's pricey, but I like the way it makes my skin feel. After I cleanse my skin, I put some Serum Prep on a cotton pad and apply it all over my face and neck. My skin looks matte and feels tighter/firmer, but without feeling overly dry. The application instructions say to saturate a cotton pad, but I don't think you need to use a lot in order for the product to work---same with the other Perricone MD products. A little goes a long way.
