Questions & Answers for Perricone MD Nutritive Cleanser

Question
drying? acne prone skin
My main concern is clogged pores which eventually turns into breakouts. I'm currently using the Skin Clear cleanser (have about a week using it) but don't feel it's cleaning well. It might be that I'm just used to gel type cleansers. Do you think the Nutritive Cleanser will be bad for acne prone skin? Will it dry out the skin? Thanks for the help.

It did not dry my skin at all. I had a travel size which I used for about a month and it is wonderful! I am going to buy the regular size soon(I still have enough left in the travel size)! Since I have been using it I have had only one blemish due mostly to stress. This cleanser has made such a difference for my skin- it feels good and looks good after washing, not tight but clean. I definetly recommend it for acne prone skin.

I broke out horribly. I used it 3 weeks thinking I just needed to get used to it and unclog my pores but couldn't take it anymore and went back to my Ain't Misbehaving to clear stuff up.

I find that slowly introducing any new product into my routine works best. Try using the new product every couple of days at first and the old product on the days you don't. After a month or so stop using the old product all together. One thing about using the nutritive cleanser alone is that it does not take all my makeup off so I use a mild toner afterwards.

I have breakout prone skin that is dry is some areas due to eczema. I have found this cleanser to be very effective at unclogging pores but it definatley does not dry out the skin at all. My skin texture and clarity has improved. This cleanser would be a good option for you.

Actually no. It appears you and I have the same type of skin issues. This product doesnt tingle, its actually very gentle and does not dry out your skin. I use it at night and in the morning. At first I didnt think it was working but I can honestly say, I have not broken out since and I can feel and see the difference. Try it after you finish what you're currently using.

My daughter uses the skin clear cleanser and loves it. It has helped a lot with her breakouts and she has used a lot of product lines. She says it doesn't dry out her skin like the proactive, etc. When she visits she uses my nutritive cleanser and likes it as much! You might consider trading off between these cleansers. My skin is older, drier, so I use the Nutritive only at night and just rinse my skin in the morning. You might use the Nutritive in the AM and the Skin Clearing in the evening. It's expensive but I think it is worth it. The Nutritive removes all my makeup including the mascara! Good luck

This product is great! I love it! I also know a lot about acne. Use this product (will not dry your skin out) along with Apple Cider Vinegar. Put the vinegar in a spray bottle. Start with 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water. It will sting but you will see your acne start to disappear overnight. This cleanser will help maintain while adding anti aging benefits. Good luck!

I can't vouch for long term results, but I have extremely oily skin and mostly cycle-related break outs. I've been using this for 2 weeks and haven't seen any increase in acne, and it's not drying. My face feels really clean afterwards. I can't say yet whether or not it's improving my skin texture or oil but at least I haven't noticed anything bad. Hope this helps.

Question
Compared to Philosophy's PURITY...
Which worked better for you? I've been using Purity for a few months already with my clarisonic and it has now started to dry out my skin and I find it does not leave my skin as nice as it used to. Don't know if my skin just got used to it or maybe its the weather change. I tend to have Oily skin, but around Fall/Winter its Combo/Oily. I have uneven skin tone, forehead lines and the lines under my eyes are more noticeable. Would you reccommend this? Thanks!

I love the Perricone Nutritive Cleanser. I'm not a fan of Philosophy products at all. Some of them feel nice going on, but poops out when it comes to hydration. I would give the Perricone a try- it's a little more expensive but totally worth it for not that much more.

I found this to be very drying to my skin. I have been using Purity for over 5 years now and I believe that my skin "is used to it" also. It stopped cleansing as well as it used to and the Hope in a Jar is far too oily afterwards. A Sephora employee suggested that I try Philos. Microdermabrasion Peel two times per week and that has made a big difference in my skins tone and texture. Also, she gave me samples of FRESH - Soy cleanser and face cream. This is a must try! It is wonderful. My face looks and feels so much younger and...it works really well with the Clarisonic. Try it once and you will be hooked.

I think you should consult the beautician at Sephora. But, in my opinion it will be too drying if you combine the two. I used to have acne as well, but I just stick with this, murad acne spot treatment and bliss no more blemish serum and my face has been acne free ever since.

One of my grown daughters use to use Proactive. It messed up her skin and bleached out several pillowcases in the process.
She switched to this one and has seen amazing results. She has combo skin with large pores. She's noticed this helps with her pores and seems to keep her oilier spots under control. You can always give this a try. If you don't see any improvement in a few days you can always return it.

As far as using it WITH Proactive I can't say how it will react.
