For extreme activity I find that the spray on sunscreen, particularly the Neutrogena spray on, is light and not goopy, and good for serious sun/exercise.

Peter Thomas Roth Uber-Dry Sunscreen SPF 30 4.2 oz
I play tennis all summer long in hot, humid Florida sun and I can't even tell I am wearing it! I have tried EVERY over the counter sunscreen product and PTR's products can't be beat! alittle $$ but worth the investment!

I haven't really tried being in intense heat with this yet since my city's always cloudy and cold... BUT I think this would at least be worth trying. I use this on my face all the time, and it keeps the pores clean, non-greasy, and it's very lightweight, so I would think that this would work well in preventing overheating.
This is NOT like any other sunscreen's I've been forced to wear on holidays or during the summer.

This is among the better sunscreen options for permitting the skin to breathe...a little. It's better than many, but is still gonna trap some heat. Josie Maran's is cleaner, in terms of chemicals, but will trap even more heat. Suggestions: physical blocks: Does uniform prevent white baseball caps? If not, send him a SUPPLY of cool ones. AND: learned while working with natives of Mexico: believe it or not, wearing a long-sleeved linen/cotton shirt (used from Thrift store, or $16 at Target) helps in heat--keeps sun off skin, and breathes. Again, if there's a uniform requirement, the soldiers should petition for: khaki or white, NATURAL FIBER uniforms. It's not like you need green camoflauge in the desert! And the petroleum-based (now, there's an irony!?) polyester and other non-natural fabrics are just plain cruelty. Tell him to drink water (preferrably water with cucumber or mint or orange slices), NOT sodas, which can dehydrate. Also, if you can send him the carton-packets of coconut water, it's nature's perfect electrolyte drink. The fakes ones like Gatorade can actually dehydrate. Blessings to him and you!

I live in the desert and love outdoor exercising so it was important for me to find a good lightweigh suncreen that will help control my oily skin. This product is perfect for me! You only need a small amount and I can't tell I have it on while I'm exercising. This product is definately worth trying.
