Question
will it make my skin oily?
I'm looking for a good sunscreen that will keep my face protected but wont make my skin more oily as the day progresses. Is this a good sunscreen for that? Because my skin is already super oily so i'm looking for something that wont make it worse. cause some are dry until a couple hours later and i'm super shiny.

I have combination skin that gets pretty oily, especially in Summer, and it seems to stay put and oil-free for a while. Of course, depending on your climate and skin type, you may find it not to have as much of a mattifying effect. But I would definitely ask for a sample next time you're in a Sephora store. Good luck!

No! I used it on my face on a tropical vacation and my oily face stayed relatively matte. At most it was as oily as normal, but not at all greasier/shinier looking. And I didn't break out. Worth it!

I have a combination skin and this product is the best for oily areas. Not even my dermatologist products work as good as this one. I was very skeptical when the Sephora employee recommended this sun block but decided to give it a try and I love it. The skin absorbs it really quick and best of all it does not leave any white or oily residue.

I have the same problem with super oily skin and live in the desert. I'm so excited I found such a great product which I've been using for a month now. Just as it advertises it's very lightweight and does absorb quickly. I've used it alone when exercising outdoors and my skin is shine free for several hours. It works great under my oil free skin and make up regimen which all help me stay shine free.

I wouldn't use it over make-up, but it is completely invisible under make-up. It won't pill or make your make-up slide off like other sun screens. I use this every day, all year long... it's the best.

I've never tried it, but you might as well try.
I put this on prior to my makeup, because I'm not sure how well it'll absorb through concealer and foundation.
I recommend buying it, and trying putting it on both ways. The best thing about Sephora is you can always return it if you don't like it~

I had the same concern but this product is amazing. I use a vitamin c serum after cleansing my face. I apply this Uber-Dry suncreen which aborbs quickly and leaves a matte finish. It blends in so nicely I can't tell I'm wearing any sunscreen. I then I use my oil free lotion combined with t zone shine control. Then I apply foundation along with the rest of my make up.

Wrong product for that. You want the mineral stick as this is a liquid-gel. It would go under your make up. Putting it on top would make it a mess. Bye the way, the mineral stick version is great as a setting powder/oil absorber throughout the day, don't have to reapply make up at all.

Question
is this a moisturizer of just sun scree?
I am looking for a VERY matt moisturizer with at least spf 30. I was wondering about this product as its not listed under moisturizers but only under sunscreen. I have also noted that Peter Roth does have a moisturizer with spf . What is the difference between these 2 products and if I used this Uber dry product would I also need to have a moisturizer.

While it doesn't list this sunscreen as a moisturizer, it does include vitamins A, C & E, which are in most moisturizers. I use Proactiv and apply PTR Uber-dry after I put on the "Repairing treatment" lotion(which can be drying), and my face feels moisturized all day. I've never had an issue with my face feeling dried out.

This product is moisturizing enough to use alone. My skin tends to be a little bit on the oily side, so it provides the perfect amount of protection & moisturizing. I have tried the PTR moisturizer with the sunscreen & found it to be too oily and greasy looking.

I think it's just a sunscreen. For me, I use it on the weekends when I know I'll be outside a lot and I don't use moisturizer under it. With stuff I've used before for "outside" days, if I used a moisturizer/sunscreen or 2 separate products, it just slides right off my face. This stayed on when used by itself. For ordinary days when I'll be in the office all day, I use a combo product with an SPF of about 15.

I use this product as a moisturizer everyday under my makeup, or by itself on day I don't wear make-up. It may not be entirely directed towards being used a s moisturizer, but it's a pretty great product. I love the way it makes my skin feel. You should try it. If you can, go to the store and try it on a spot of your skin to see if you like it.

Yeah, this isn't oily and pretty matte. It is definitely not a moisturizer because when i use it alone, it flakes off or my skin looks dry. Usually I apply cetaphil cream underneath, let it dry then apply this stuff. It works great if you try it that way. Hope that helped out a bit. If not, you can try both products and see which one u like better then return the one u don't like?

I haven't really tried being in intense heat with this yet since my city's always cloudy and cold... BUT I think this would at least be worth trying. I use this on my face all the time, and it keeps the pores clean, non-greasy, and it's very lightweight, so I would think that this would work well in preventing overheating.
This is NOT like any other sunscreen's I've been forced to wear on holidays or during the summer.

This is among the better sunscreen options for permitting the skin to breathe...a little. It's better than many, but is still gonna trap some heat. Josie Maran's is cleaner, in terms of chemicals, but will trap even more heat. Suggestions: physical blocks: Does uniform prevent white baseball caps? If not, send him a SUPPLY of cool ones. AND: learned while working with natives of Mexico: believe it or not, wearing a long-sleeved linen/cotton shirt (used from Thrift store, or $16 at Target) helps in heat--keeps sun off skin, and breathes. Again, if there's a uniform requirement, the soldiers should petition for: khaki or white, NATURAL FIBER uniforms. It's not like you need green camoflauge in the desert! And the petroleum-based (now, there's an irony!?) polyester and other non-natural fabrics are just plain cruelty. Tell him to drink water (preferrably water with cucumber or mint or orange slices), NOT sodas, which can dehydrate. Also, if you can send him the carton-packets of coconut water, it's nature's perfect electrolyte drink. The fakes ones like Gatorade can actually dehydrate. Blessings to him and you!

for its price of $26, i would not use this on my body. i've been using this for two years on my face and i do not breakout from it, nor do i shine from it. this product is non greasy and you feel that when you apply it (of course if you put on a huge amount, you'll feel greasy, that's a given with any product). please do not buy this if you're going to use this on your body, unless you're rich. but if you care about your face and want to buy your sunscreen separate from your moisturize (which is what i do), i highly recommend this product.

It's perfectly fine for the face. I use it every single day, whether it's sunny or not, and it's probably my most favourite product right now - yes, even more so than my crazy colored eyeshadows and bright red lipstick - and that's saying ALOT.
Really, this is probably one of the best sunscreens you can get for your face, and it works perfectly when applied under makeup as well.

I have used it on my arms after a laser treatment, but since there are so many parabens, PEG, and other chems in it, I would prefer, long-term, to use natural (yes, more sticky or greasy or white) ones for such large areas. Two faves that are not too white and pretty lightweight: MyChelle Sunshield (vegan, non-animal tested, safe for face/eyes), and Juice Beauty SPF 30 or 15 Mineral Sheer Moisturizer--certified organic.
