Posietint has a sheer tint of color and has buildable coverage.

the color is buildable. you can dab a little on lips to have a subtle pink tone or more to have a very natural looking pink. Looks great on cheeks too. I have very fair skin and I like how this looks on my cheeks and lips better than Benetint.

yes...it's very pink....if u want more color, apply once, let dry a minute & apply again...

I like it much better for cheeks than lips because it is so light.

I have medium to tan skintone and this shows up surprisingly well. So this will definitely give your pale skin nice color without being over the top like benetint

I dont often use this as lipstick I use it more for cheeks but I have fair skin and it looks very natural on. It doesnt look like you are wearing lipstick but like you were licking a lollipop, your lips just enhanced!

Posietint is very sheer. It gives a youthful, natural finish to your lips. I would use it as a base to blend with another more dominant pink lipstick. Or you could also use it as a base to a shimmery lip gloss.

Hot pink or vibrant roses look great on pale skin. To achieve that look you could use Posietint on your lips then apply a flattering red over the stain. Voila! Your own personal color! Blending two colors always looks better and more complimenting than just one alone.

I don't use a traditional foundation (I have freckles, foundation looks silly), I use You Rebel and I will use this after I apply the tinted moisturizer. Sometimes, my face goes naked, so then I can rock this. I wouldn't put it on UNDER foundation, because I feel like you would lose the color. I also throw a pop of Nars Orgasm blush on top.

I use on naked skin or TM BEFORE powder. I doubt it will work over a powder foundation

Put it underneath the tinted moisturizer if it's sheer. It's also really natural so you can do whatever with it.

I put mine on over foundation and tinted moisturizer. Your makeup will probably cover it up if you put it on before. However, if you find it is difficult to blend, you might try it the other way just for kicks.

Yes, definitely put it over your makeup, otherwise the color will be covered up and the luminosity will be gone.

You can use it either under or over the liquid foundation depending on the coverage of foundation you use (light, medium, or full coverage). If you use it under the full coverage foundation, it might not show the color as much as it does over the light coverage foundation. If you would like to use it over the liquid foundation, just dapping it on. Try not to rub it because it could smear off the foundation. Hope that help. :) Good luck.

I've had a problem with Posietint streaking when I put it on before foundation. Applying it over foundation gives you a little more time (still not much) to blend the product before it dries. If you apply it over foundation, you will get more color without having to use as much. Plus, if you use a full-coverage foundation, you have almost zero hope of seeing this product under it. I have been using this forever, and I use foundation and then the stain.

I put it on over my concealer and powder foundation and it looks beautiful!

I use it after foundation and have no problems with smears at all... just make sure your foundation is good and dry. Posietint is really very light and gel-like and dries super fast, so dab some on and then quickly and lightly pat/swipe the product onto the desired area. I would never use it under anything - it has a lovely glow that would be erased if you used foundation over it.

Use it under the foundation and then put a little over the foundation, too. Whether or not it smears your foundation depends on your foundation.

What a silly question to post - wouldn't it be quicker to just try both ways and answer it yourself? Seriously.

Both Sephora and Benefit recommend this under powders. If you put this over a powder, it's a liquid and can compromise or even liquidify the powder. It works really well under powders.

I put in on under liquid foundation. It shows through and if you didn't think it did, just put more posietint on next time knowing that the foundation will dim it some. You'll figure out the right amount to get the look you want. Like JC said, when I put it on over foundation it rubbed the foundation off.

The answer is simple:
Liquid with Liquid, Powder with Powder.
Ok - so with a liquid foundation or tinted moisturizer, use your foundation/tint first; then apply your PosieTint
If you use Powder foundation, you should be using powder blush for better results; BUT if you want to use PosieTint or ANY other cheek stains; use the PosieTint or cheek stain FIRST to stain your skin; then use your powder foundation as per usual. That way, if you get overzealous with the stain, you can try to mute it down.
As per any stain on lip or cheek, the trick is to try it many different ways until you find the way that works best for you.

Put your posietint on before you use your foundation-it will show through your foundation and if necessary add a little shimmer or powder blush to enhance the color-while your foundation and powder blush fade through the day-your posietint will still be there!

If you use liquid foundation, I have found that the Posietint will smear the foundation and you will need to reapply the foundation after the Posietint. This also includes powder foundations. To make your Poisetint show through your foundation so you don't have to apply powder blush-add a few layers of the Posietint.

Do one cheek at a time, and either an X or 3 dots on the apples of your cheek. For lips I apply it from the brush and rub in with my finger. Either put a lip balm on before or after you do it. Be fast when your are rubbing it in. ONE CHEEK AT A TIME (:
I have very pale skin, and it shows up more pink on me versus my sister who is very tan(I got the irish gene, she got the Italian gene). My friend who is dark, like the cha cha tint a lot more than this. So does my sister. Because this shows up more sheer on their cheeks. But still pink on their lips. Cha Cha tint doesn't show up orange on them, it is gorgeous! However, I look like an ompaloompa. I'd test it out at the store first though.

Posietint is definitely for lighter toned skin in my opiion unless you want pink tones. For a deeper rose tone I would go with Benetint.

It is actually pretty easy to cover up. I put the pocket rocket lipgloss color Jesse by urban decay and it completely covered up the color. It's a dark shade though so it makes sense. It's super easy to layer though and the color becomes more intense as each layer is added so it's easy to adjust. Posietint is pretty bright so I think it would show up on darker skin tones nicely.

i think it could look nice with a dark complexion, just build the colour up with a few applications.

i also use it as a lip stain, you have to apply that a few times and it's more of a sheer pink look than a strong colour

If you have dark lips, it will make them look kind of weird. but if you have pale lips, it will make them a beautiful shade of pink. As for your cheeks, I like to brush a little on my cheekbone and blend it out with my fingers. You can add more if the color doesn't stand out; it's very easy to build up the color intensity.

Benetint, the rosier version of this tint, might show up a little more on darker skin. But whichever you choose, you won't go wrong.

I completely understand girl! I was in the same boat. I am fair skinned with dark brown hair and eyes. The color is so much prettier than expected. The appearance is natural, and not so opaque pinky like in the bottle.

It will last forever! Plus, Sephora has the best return policy around. Take it back if you don't like it!

I don't think that Posietint would be right for you as a cheek stain. It goes on very sheer and I'm very fair and can barely see it. You might have some luck using it as a lip stain but if I were you, I'd go with the darker Benetint.

My skin tone is medium. I was a bit worried posie tint would be too light for me but the color works great for me. I apply 3 lines on the apple of my cheeks then blend quickly! Then dot some on my lips and rub in. I have naturally pink lips so I apply it twice for an added effect. Then you can add a gloss or lip balm. Great product!

This product is somewhat sheer with the first application, which is good because it allows you to "build" the color with some control. I am fair and I apply it 3 times to my lips and let it dry somewhat betrween applications & then apply a lipstick color over it to give it either a shine or matte finish. I would say this product would be very lovely for your color. cheeks or lips. I encourage you to try it!!!

Works great with mineral make-up. Not cakey at all. Try the feeling cheeky set, with highbeem, posietint, and benetint. Just because everybodies skin is different and will react different. Plus it is only $15. You get to try 3 great products(I've had this since June, and I still have a ton of product left. I use highbeam every day and it still isn't halfway done, and I have more than half on both posie tint and benetint).

Yes! I use this with Philosophy Supernatural and they work very well together. The cheek stain totally looks natural over the mineral powder.

Works just fine if the mineral makeup has not been over-applied. I always put on moisturizer underneath my BareMinerals foundation, wait for it to set then follow with Mineral Veil before a little posie tint.

I tried it over Bare Escentuals mineral foundation, it doesn't blend as well over this foundation as others, however it made the powder foundation look not as thick and a bit more natural... just be careful if you rub the product in too much, as it may cause the powder to become gluggy

Oh, yeah, it works fine. But I'd reccomend against setting it with powder, because it makes it less luminous.

I used it for a very long time with Bare Essentials and loved it! I just put it right on top of the foundation. I never used the Mineral Veil, but I would probably put that over the Posie Tint.

I use it with an almost all Bare Escentuals line-up. After I use "warmth" and before I use the "mineral Veil" It is subtle, but I like it, and the wet application doesn't seem to muck up the dru mineral make-up at all.

I've used it with mineral makeup and it works the same as with any other makeup.

Ideally you want to use liquids first and powders last, so for best results use before the bare minerals. I have applied it after the minerals though and it's still fine.

dandelion is supposedly a finishing powder that give a light shimmer and posetint is cheek stain.

I would say use the Posietint. I have pale skin with some freckles on my forehead and cheeks and red hair. The posietint looks really natural on me.

I would suggest Posietint, it lasts waaaaaaaaaaaaaay longer and it gives a very naturally pink look. I have used dandelion after reading a lot of great reviews but its just okay on me.

I would go for Dandelion I think! :) but they both might be nice!

how about Cha Cha Tint, a more 'mango' coloured stain from the Benefit Tint family?

If you want a beautiful natural glow, go with Posietint. Dandelion's very pretty, but Posietint is the best.

I think posietint is better for fairer skins if you like a peachy pink flush that looks totally natural. I think this would go well with red heads as well as it is slightly peachy pink.

I am a light skinned red head also, and I got the posietint. It can be natural or more intense if layered.

They're very different products and I use Dandelion on top of Posie Tint. Dandelion has very little color but it gives the prettiest glow! I think Posie Tint looks good on everyone; all my friends that have tried mine look radiant :)

This product does not have shimmery sparkles in it. It isn't quite matte, but close. It has a very slight highlight that still looks natural. Believe me, I avoid shimmer in every product, so I know how offensive it is when it's in a basic blush - I always think it should be a separate highlighter product.

Not at all. Neither Benetint, Posietint or Cha Cha Tint are shimmery. Although the packaging is very shimmery the product is not.

I have oily skin and that's the MAIN reason why I use this. Because with a powdered blush it just rubs off, whereas this is a "stain" and unless you wash it off, it's not coming off; oily skin or not.

Yes! Stains are definitely preferable to glosses as the stain/tint won't slide off your lip. To increase the stain's lock on your lips, apply a clear lip liner first and then lightly apply the stain.

posietint will give you a nice flushed look and warms the face up!

Posietint is a light sheer poppy pink, while Benetint is a darker sheer reddish tint. I would think for your light skin tone to go with Posietint.

i also have a very light skintone, and i have tried benetint and its a little too rich for me. i prefer posie tint because its a more natural flush

They both are definitely very natural looking, and sheer, so they won't look to bright against your fair skin. However, you can add more to easily build up the color intensity. Of course, it all depends on what color you want. Benetint gives you a rosy flush, while posietint goves you a pretty pink glow. If you can't decide between the two, I reccomend buying the Feelin' Cheeky set, which includes Benetint, Posietint, and High Beam.

hmm.. that depends. i'm paler skin toned but i tend to get tanner in the summer time so the posie tint looks best in the summer. benetint (which i've tried as well) works really well for the winter time. the great thing about these tints are that they can be the base and if u want to add a little more, just put on some lip gloss and it switches it up again. also, i just bought another posietint for the fall season so i'll be wearing that and probably but a little redder toned lip gloss on top. hope that helps!

Both are very natural. I very fair skin (read: see-through) and I chose Posietint because it is brighter. I need that pop of color or I look tired and washed out.

I've tried them both and Posietint all the way. I promise you will love it. But don't be fooled by how it looks through the bottle or when it comes out on the brush, it's amazing once it's on your skin. My mom, sister and I have 3 different skin colorings completely and we all look great with it. Benetint is too harsh for cheeks, it's more for a va va voom pop on the lips.

i always use primer before applying lip gloss, and ive never had any issues with using a primer before posie tint.

Of course! You can pretty much do whatever you want when i comes to your makeup! A moisturizing lip balm or primer is actually a very good idea post putting on the lip stain because most lip stains suck all the moisture out of your lip leaving you licking you lips a lot with can lead to chap lips which is not fun!

yes you should. because the tint will settle into the lines of your lips so you should really put on a lip balm

No, sorry. It would be like trying to paint over crayon. The posietint would just bead up and wouldn't stain the lips.

I would brush you lips with a soft wet toothbruch, use lip balm but take it off before applying posie tint. It is not drying and the color will not looks cracky. I love it. Bought the mini but will def buy the full size!

Yes, I do this all the time. However, it takes more time because you need to let the moisturizer set and then blot any excess before applying the stain.

Also, it will take longer for the stain to set and you have to be a little careful not to lick it off or mush it around on your lips before it sets or the color can be a little uneven.

I find that it's worth the wait for moist all-day lip color though.

I would put the moisturizing lip balm on after applying the stain - that way it will last longer and the color will show up better

If you use something moisturizing, Posietint and Benetint may not adhere to it. I apply it after. This doesn't need to be a big production with powders and primers or anything. Just use either tint and then a moisturizer or gloss or balm and you're good to go. This is supposed to be convenient, not a time-consuming process. However, always moisturize with something, since this is drying.

The trick to applying a good lip stain is to have exfoliated and moisturized WELL BEFORE you try and stain your lips.
Slick slippery skin on your lips WILL NOT stain. They just won't! The stain will float on the top of your lip balm and get pushed into the inside of your lips or outside corners and make you look like you've been sucking on a popsicle and not in a good way.
I'm not saying you can never moisturize your lips before a stain; I'm just saying that it's got to be A LOOONG TIME before. If it takes you an hour to get ready, from shower to dressing and out the door; you can exfoliate and hydrate your lips in the shower/just after your shower. Then, as you come to the end of your beauty regimen (meaning, the very last thing you do at the end of that hour) you can wipe your lips (stains only stay on clean, dry lip surfaces) and apply your stain at your discretion.

Imagine trying to put lipstick on over a heavy gloss. You are going to have a battle to try and get that lipstick to coat. That's what I'm talking about. Stains should go under any lip balm, lipstick, lip gloss; to stain the skin. Otherwise they just won't work.

Keep in mind, the lips naturally lose lots of skin cells during the day. Your stain may wear off unevenly. It's not the stains' fault, it's just biology.
