All of the above.
I don't use a traditional foundation (I have freckles, foundation looks silly), I use You Rebel and I will use this after I apply the tinted moisturizer. Sometimes, my face goes naked, so then I can rock this. I wouldn't put it on UNDER foundation, because I feel like you would lose the color. I also throw a pop of Nars Orgasm blush on top.

Posietint is very sheer. It gives a youthful, natural finish to your lips. I would use it as a base to blend with another more dominant pink lipstick. Or you could also use it as a base to a shimmery lip gloss.

Hot pink or vibrant roses look great on pale skin. To achieve that look you could use Posietint on your lips then apply a flattering red over the stain. Voila! Your own personal color! Blending two colors always looks better and more complimenting than just one alone.

Posietint Over or Under Liquid Foundation
I'm having this dilemma-- should I put the posietint on before or after my LIQUID foundation? If I put the tint on before the foundation, will the color of the tint still show through? And... If I apply the posietint over the foundation, won't this cause my foundation to smear? Please help! I look forward to reading your opinions and ideas. Thanks!

You can use it either under or over the liquid foundation depending on the coverage of foundation you use (light, medium, or full coverage). If you use it under the full coverage foundation, it might not show the color as much as it does over the light coverage foundation. If you would like to use it over the liquid foundation, just dapping it on. Try not to rub it because it could smear off the foundation. Hope that help. :) Good luck.

I've had a problem with Posietint streaking when I put it on before foundation. Applying it over foundation gives you a little more time (still not much) to blend the product before it dries. If you apply it over foundation, you will get more color without having to use as much. Plus, if you use a full-coverage foundation, you have almost zero hope of seeing this product under it. Hope this helps!

I use it after foundation and have no problems with smears at all... just make sure your foundation is good and dry. Posietint is really very light and gel-like and dries super fast, so dab some on and then quickly and lightly pat/swipe the product onto the desired area. I would never use it under anything - it has a lovely glow that would be erased if you used foundation over it.

I put in on under liquid foundation. It shows through and if you didn't think it did, just put more posietint on next time knowing that the foundation will dim it some. You'll figure out the right amount to get the look you want. Like JC said, when I put it on over foundation it rubbed the foundation off.

The answer is simple:
Liquid with Liquid, Powder with Powder.
Ok - so with a liquid foundation or tinted moisturizer, use your foundation/tint first; then apply your PosieTint
If you use Powder foundation, you should be using powder blush for better results; BUT if you want to use PosieTint or ANY other cheek stains; use the PosieTint or cheek stain FIRST to stain your skin; then use your powder foundation as per usual. That way, if you get overzealous with the stain, you can try to mute it down.
As per any stain on lip or cheek, the trick is to try it many different ways until you find the way that works best for you.

answer 11
Put your posietint on before you use your foundation-it will show through your foundation and if necessary add a little shimmer or powder blush to enhance the color-while your foundation and powder blush fade through the day-your posietint will still be there!

If you use liquid foundation, I have found that the Posietint will smear the foundation and you will need to reapply the foundation after the Posietint. This also includes powder foundations. To make your Poisetint show through your foundation so you don't have to apply powder blush-add a few layers of the Posietint.

I put this over liquid foundation. It does not smear, in fact I think it settles in quite nicely, almost becomes creamy on the cheek, and is easy to blend. I do think though that effects could be different with different foundations, considering different amounts of moisture/oils. However I have done this with several brands, and find over has always been best.

Hi,

They're two different things. The best thing you can do is go to a Sephora and get a free consultation. The consultants are trained to deal with each individual situation, each person's skin tones, eye colors, and hair colors, and can recommend the very best products and shades from a wide range of manufacturers. When you ask a question on these boards, sometimes people who have no experience with any products give advice and sometimes teens make suggestions, having only experienced only their own young new skin. (No offense to anyone intended). I remember once a 13 to 17 year old writing a review where she complained about how a product intended to counteract aging skin wasn't helping her, and then recommending everyone stay away from it. It's all a matter of perspective, I guess, which is why the Sephora consultants can give you the very best answers about products. If you're not near a Sephora, you can also get best advice by calling the toll free line at 877-SEPHORA.

Hope this helps.

Do one cheek at a time, and either an X or 3 dots on the apples of your cheek. For lips I apply it from the brush and rub in with my finger. Either put a lip balm on before or after you do it. Be fast when your are rubbing it in. ONE CHEEK AT A TIME (:
I have very pale skin, and it shows up more pink on me versus my sister who is very tan(I got the irish gene, she got the Italian gene). My friend who is dark, like the cha cha tint a lot more than this. So does my sister. Because this shows up more sheer on their cheeks. But still pink on their lips. Cha Cha tint doesn't show up orange on them, it is gorgeous! However, I look like an ompaloompa. I'd test it out at the store first though.

It is actually pretty easy to cover up. I put the pocket rocket lipgloss color Jesse by urban decay and it completely covered up the color. It's a dark shade though so it makes sense. It's super easy to layer though and the color becomes more intense as each layer is added so it's easy to adjust. Posietint is pretty bright so I think it would show up on darker skin tones nicely.

If you have dark lips, it will make them look kind of weird. but if you have pale lips, it will make them a beautiful shade of pink. As for your cheeks, I like to brush a little on my cheekbone and blend it out with my fingers. You can add more if the color doesn't stand out; it's very easy to build up the color intensity.

This product is somewhat sheer with the first application, which is good because it allows you to "build" the color with some control. I am fair and I apply it 3 times to my lips and let it dry somewhat betrween applications & then apply a lipstick color over it to give it either a shine or matte finish. I would say this product would be very lovely for your color. cheeks or lips. I encourage you to try it!!!

i'm an indian with medium olive skin too, so i've always used the benetint. i think the benetint gives you more of a flushed look, it looks more like you've put on blush or are really blushing. i finally tried out the posietint recently at a friend's insistence and found that if i apply it to my fingers rub them together for an instant and then blend over the apples of my cheeks, it looks very pretty. it doesnt look like im blushing or i have blush on, more like i have naturally pink cheeks. its perfect for a natural look. however, i would strongly suggest you try it out in a sephora store first. (they also have them at macys if you dont have a sephora nearby). just dont apply directly to cheeks, you'll get streaks because it isn't as thin as the benetint. hope that helps!

They both would work fine. They are both extremely natural looking. They're sheer, so they will work well on your fair skin, but you can also easily build up the color intensity by adding more layers. Of course, it depends on what color you want. Benetint gives you more of a rosy flush, while posietint gives you a pretty pink glow. If you can't decide, I'd reccomend getting the Feelin' Cheeky set which includes Benetint, Posietint, and High Beam.

Hi

I have very pale skin. I use either although Benetint very lightly. I like the option of having more than one shade.

Because I have very pale skin, the Sephora rep suggested that when I use Benetint, I apply it like this:

A long time ago, the Sephora consultant showed me how to use this. She suggested I draw a very faint circle on my cheeks, and then put a slash of Moonbeam over the very top of the circle. Then blend the whole thing. It looks beautiful and natural. However, the circle has to be drawn faintly, and quickly, followed by the Moonbeam. If this is not done in an incredibly fast time, it dries and looks like a clown. (Only do one cheek at a time). If this is done quickly, it looks 100% natural, and not like there's any product on at all. I've learned not to totally draw the line though - instead of --------------------- although circular, I do this:- - - - - - - - - . By not making a consistent line, I've found it's not too heavy. Now I do more dashing that full circle. (DO NOT FILL IN THE CIRCLE - THIS IS JUST THE OUTLINE OF ONE). It ends up looking very natural.

Hope this helps.

However, it is more pink than the Benetint which is red. The Benetint would give you a natural look as well. It is more like in between water-base and think-base. The thickness of the product is slightly more waterly than liquid foundation

Posietint is kind of like the consistency of fingernail polish, maybe a little thinner. It's thinner than Benefit's High Beam but thicker than Benetint.

Hi,

It's like a thick liquid.

Question
How do you remove it?
I'm thinking about ordering this, but, because this is a stain, how do you take it off?

Take it off with whatever you would normally use; however, because it is a stain, a little color will still remain until the next day. Not a very noticeable amount, just enough to give you a little glow the next morning.

It will likely wear off throughout the day... but I use either one of my facial cleansers or any kind of natural oils I have about (like olive, vitamin E or coconut). No problems. Mascara is harder to remove than Posietint (hence the oils).

It comes off with soap and wate or any cleanser. It does not injure my complexion if I just leave it on overnight. Both Benetint and Posietint are very benign to the skin.

It washes off very easily. I only use a mild cleanser at night w/ no abrasives and it comes off with no problem.

I'd say just like any other makeup... with your makeup remover. The first main ingredient is water so it could wash off fairly well. If your makeup remover doesn't do a fair job try an oil-like cleanser (Laura Mercier's Purifying Oil is fantastic)

Even though Posietint is a stain and lasts through out the day-make up remover and/or a good cleanser will take the full effect off. If you still see some rosey cheeks afterwards-you will find if you wash your face it fades completely a few hours later.

Question
used products? tell me no
just read that Benefit resells the items that are returned. I hope this isn't so. I want to continue to purchase these products but if I get one that has been used I will be returning it on the spot and never again will purchase anything. how can they do that? health reasons? terrible. I'm sure this is not the company policy-- it just wouldn't work. Sometimes it's hard to tell if someone has used a product, but I'm sure the odds of getting a used one is very low. lol. Go for it :) It's a great product.

I doubt very much that this is true. They would go out of business very quickly. Now, it is possible that shady 3rd parties resell such items, but you should never buy cosmetics from shady 3rd parties, anyway. Cosmetic companies (as well as all companies who wish to preserve their reputations) are always on the lookout for such criminal operations so that they can be shut down.

yes it is true they re-sell items that have been returned. I got confessions of a conceal-a-holic from a friend and returned it because I wanted something else. They do however check very closely to see if it has been used at all. Hope this helps!

I dont think this is true as most products are sealed and once the seal is broken it obviously is not completely new. So if you are worried about a product being used I would not take anyone's word for it and check yourself to ensure that the product you are purchasing is sealed and if not open it to be sure it is in new condition

Hi

I was told that returned products are destroyed because it's illegal to resell cosmetics. I'm not sure what actually happens, but I can't imagine a company like Sephora doing anything that's Illegal.

You should call Sephora and ask directly if thsi concerns you. I always make sure to buy products that are totally sealed anyway, no matter where I buy them from, and no matter what they are.

Many years ago I worked for BeneFit.
I can safely say that I never, EVER resold an item after it was returned.
The policy of the store that I worked at was that any returned item was placed in the Damages bin and sent back to the company of origin. Even items that were still sealed, we put in that bin. I was told that they items were destroyed, as part of biological waste (for the potential bacteria, not because they are biohazards) but I never saw them destroyed with my own eyes.

It would be helpful if you could cite where you heard this. It seems very unlikely that established companies such as Sephora and/or Benefit would engage practices that are likely illegal. You could contact Benefit's customer service if you are really concerned and ask about their return and resale policy: 800-781-2336. I have been using Benefit for bout 2.5 years and have never received a product that appears to be previously used.
