Hi,
I think that you would run out of the product before it goes bad. Usually you can tell when its time to change a product if the consistency starts to change.

It is very possible for bacteria to grow in any of your makeup. Not as likely in a powder which has a shelf life of about 2 years. Make sure you're using clean brushes, though. You should wash them with a mild soap every 2-3 months then lay them flat to dry. You can always Google the shelf life of cosmetics for more detailed information. Best of luck!

Usually with make-up... liquids go bad very easily, you got to be very careful with liquids... they can only last 3-6 months. But powders or baked powders like this one can last anywhere from1 year to a MAX of 3 years.

if the sample you recieved is a smaller version of the tantalizer then it should be completely fine to use. if youre worried about bacteria just mist a tissue with 70% rubbing alcohol and wipe down the surface layer of the product. however if the sample you recieved was just some product on a sponge than i would just discard, and the next time your in store ask for another sample to try :)

As far as I know, all products have a shelf life anywhere from 6months to a year. Either the product goes bad or it no longer will work as well as it first did.If its been over a year - I'd throw it out personally. I know if I use something that is over a year? I do break out or get itchy!

Well, if you even opened it at all, just to kinda test it with your finger or if anything airborne got into it, yes it will go bad. All makeup does. I've heard a couple different time frames but usually if something is opened (even if it's not used) it has a life of around 3-6 months. I'm bad. I keep makeup for about a year (except eye liner and mascara, I use 3 months and it's usually gone by then, if not I toss it). The best thing to do is to either call Sephora or go into your local Sephora and ask a rep who works there. They are trained on each product for an extensive amount of time so that's your best bet.

It should be fine.Good quality makeup doesn't go bad as quickly as some would have us believe. i have had my large(regualr sized) compact for over a year-and it's just as good as it was when I first used it.
