I think Dark is good for ethnic coloring, while Tan can be used by women with Medium or Light coloring but a wish for contour or bronzing effects.

Hi- I'm light but have watched her DVD and the Darker model looked beautiful. Not pink at all..they all come with 2 color's and I think you'd have that golden brown you want..I am not sure..but I answered everyone else's question's so didn't want to ignore your's!!

When I watched her VD I know I wished I had darker skin because the model looked so amazing with her product's on.....I think you'll be happy...good luck!

I am not sure. I know it contains no dimethicone, or any derivative of silicone, no castor oil, nor parabens. For other information, I would send a question to the forum at the triciasawyer.com web site.

I would try the Medium or the Tan. I wound up buying both, so I could use the Tan as a light bronzer to "kiss" the forehead, temples and nose. For darker coloring such as yours, you could do the reverse: use Tan as the basis of your look, and Medium to highlight areas you want to bring forward.

Question
how to apply/how long does it last?
I have two questions:

1. What is the best way to apply it? With a sponge (damp or dry) or with a foundation brush?

2. How long will the compact last, on average? I go through Bare Minerals pretty quickly (one every 1-2 months) trying to get the coverage I need. Is the coverage good enough that you don't need to use much and it will last a while? I have had trouble with cream foundations being used up too quickly in the past.

a) either a Beauty Blender sponge or a brush is best, but I really love Tricia Sawyer's own foundation brush. She designed it specifically to get maximum benefit from this foundation.
b) Because you can use a really small amount of product and blend it into an airbrushed effect, the foundation lasts a very long time. I bought my first one about 8 months ago, and I use it at least 4-6 days a week. I'm just now coming to the bottom.

Use a primer, Tricia make's a great one. It will last a very long time I think, few mos., prime, invest in her FOUNDATION brush (worth every penny but absolutely necessary) Watch her quick DVD clip that comes with it. Buff in the foundation with the brush as a cream.

Then she makes a powder of finely milled cotton, translucant setting powder, another beautifully crafted and very unique brush. This set's the makeup for a very long day, it's all buildable but if you want all day hold, it will last.
So prime, foundation (curved synthetic brush-tapered) buff the foundation using the 2 shades, then if u can, use her setting powder, (natural hair thick one length)buff it out and you have an incredible, long lasting canvas.
I keep it very light around the eyes, she does make a dream product called "eye slept" it's awesome...

ahhhhh this doesn't show your question! It will last a very long time, it doesn't make me break out or dry out my skin.

I love the stuff, but really, the secret is in her short DVD clip's..should come with it..it's an entirely different look and tecnique than Bare Mineral's, but it last's......truly the brushes and foundation and setting powder and primer all together make an incrdible look--it' all in the "buffing".
Good luck!

Depending on the way you apply, this would be excellent for covering scars. I would use a brush or something like the Beauty Blender sponge to buff on the foundation and the touch up with a fine-pointed brush.

It is pretty full coverage but not total coverage. It will help with the discoloration but not the texture differences.

Question
I don't know what color to choose, I have read it runs lighter than the decription of the colors.
I am 57, dark brown hair, blue eyes, fair skin.
I am looking at this foundation as I've read it leaves a 'natural dewy" finish with coverage you can adjust to your needs/wants.
I would appreciate any feedback by anyone who has used this product.

I would go with the medium. It has two shades and you can just blend the two together. I have brown hair also and I tan easily and the medium worked for me.

I think if you really buffed it in a quick dip or light rain would be OK, but otherwise..it is fiarly easy to remove so I would ay No, it's not oily.

Buff it in really well , use a primer and then use a setting powder and you'll be about as good as you can be.

It's oil free and doesn't make me break out. I really suggest getting her setting powder..finely milled cotton...that set's it and turn's it to a powdery finish so that you can apply shadow's, blushes, etc...
