I'm the same as you in that I've had these dark circles my whole life. I have been using this product for almost three months and it has done little. However, it moisturizes very nicely. If your face is usually dry, I would suggest checking out Shiseido products for that purpose.

Hi,

If there's a Sephora near you, the best thing you can do is go in for a consultation. They're be able to help you find what's best for you. If not, call 877-SEPHORA and a consultant there will be able to help. But it's always best to go into the store if you can, because then the consultant can accurately access what you need and you can see if you like the product in advance.

Hope this helps.

it does moisturize the area nicely. as for the dark circles, mine are genetic as well and i've never really found anything that makes them go away. this product does brighten the area and for at least half the day makes those circles not quite as apparent.

I also have combination very sensitive skin. This product did nothing for my circles and really irritated my eyes. I prefer Clinique because it does not irritate my eyes.

Yes you can. Just let the eye cream absorb for a minute or so, then apply your sunscreen on top. It won't affect or dilute the eye cream once it's absorbed. And as already noted, it is safe and perfectly fine to apply SPF around your eyes. The answer that claims it's bad to use SPF around eyes is misinformed. I use the Clarins one mentioned below as well as a mineral sunscreen I use on my face around my eyes with absolutely no problems.

I don't use this product but I don't see why you couldn't. Contrary to the other post, you can use SPF around the eyes. In fact Clarins makes an SPF eye cream specifically for this purpose. I wear it every day on top of my other eye serum. I would apply this eye treatment first, give it at least 5 minutes to penetrate your skin and then tap on your SPF on top.

This is an eye treatment, you wouldn't put sunscreen directly on your eye area... In fact, you should avoid eye area when applying your sunscreen... To protect your eyes, wear shades and/or use a concealer with spf...

Hi,

It's very easy. Gently apply under your eyes by patting it on, and then blend it in by massaging in gentle light circular motions with your finger. You only need a tiny bit.

Hope this helps.

Question
good brightener for people w/o dark circles?
I don't have dark circles under my eyes, but am looking for a good anti-aging/brightening eye cream. Should I try this or is there another product that would work better?

Hi,

I do NOT have dark circles either. This provides light diffusing particles which make the eyes brighter. I also like a lot of the Benefit products which lighten and open the eye area.

However, if there is a Sephora close to you, the best thing to do is go in and ask one of the consultants. They can tailor the products especially to your needs. You'll find them to be very helpful and they know all the products. If there isn't a Sephora nearby, you could call Sephora at 877-SEPHORA and a consultant on the phone could also help.

The personalized approach is better than anything any of us could tell you online.

Hope this helps.

i have pretty sensitive eyes and this doesn't cause me any irritation, the Shieseido brand is pretty good for people with sensitive skin, but i do recommend going to Sephora and having them make you a sample of it and trying it out first before inventing the money in it

Question
Is this product safe to use while pregnant or nursing?
Typically I use the Hylexin eye cream for serious undereye circles, but it says that it's not to be used while pregnant or nursing. I'm newly pregnant and need a good undereye treatment for dark cicles and wonder if this one would be a safe alternative. Of course I'll probably have to check with my dr. beforehand but want to make sure that it doesn't specifically say not to use it while pregnant before I actually buy it.

I bought it 3 weeks ago and have an 8 week old baby at home that I am exclusively breastfeeding. There is nothing on the box or on the inside packaging that says you cannot use this when pregnant or nursing. It appears to just be a brightening moisturizer and really not much else. It definitely has helped a bit to lessen the look of my tired, new mom eyes but I wouldn't say it is a miracle cure.

Hi, and Congratulations...

Please check with your doctor regarding any product use. I've seen too much incorrect information given out to pregnant women and nursing moms on these boards by people trying to be helpful. I birth babies (as my volunteer work) and I know that each doc feels differently about certain products, which is why it's imperative to speak to your own personal doctor about anything you might use. Some products are counterindicted because of patients' specific issues, and some are just not recommended.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE USING ANY NEW PRODUCT. NO REVIEWER IS QUALIFIED TO GIVE YOU SPECIFIC MEDICAL INFO ON ANY BOARD OR THROUGH ANY ONLINE SOURCE. Your doctor knows your specific circumstances and has your best interest at heart. While reviewers may try to offer advice, they don't generally have the medical background, and they're definitely not familiar with your specific circumstances.

Enjoy your pregnancy. It's such a special time to be celebrated.

Question
Does it work for dark circles on black/African American skin?
I'm African American and I've inherited dark under eye circles. Has anyone with a deep skin complexion tried this, and if so, did it work? Or do you suggest a different product for reducing dark circles?

I also have inherited dark circles, I am not African American, but I am Hispanic and have pretty deep olive skin. I bought this cream in hopes that it would fade my circles, and after a month of using twice a day, I see no difference. The only thing it helps with is making your eyes look more hydrated, which makes your under eye concealer go on a little easier. Overall, I wouldnt buy again. Hope this helps!

No where on the packaging does it indicate that it is oil-free. From the way it feels, I think it is oil based. I would look for an eye cream of a gel-consistency.

It is a very moisturizing eye cream but it dose not specify wrinkle reducing properties. I would look for a different eye cream if you are interested in reducing wrinkles.
