I've had it about 6 months but I had a CHI and this straightener is WAY better. I was really skeptical about paying so much for a straightener but this one won't pull your hair it makes hair silky smooth and it awesome for spiral curls too. I love it.

I've had mine over a year and I love it! It is definitely worth the money. Everything still looks and feels like it did when I bought it and I use it all the time for beach waves, curls and to straighten. Hope that helps!

I've had mine since April (so not really that long) but it has totally been worth the money. I've tried others (Chi, etc) and this is far superior. I'm guessing it's like any other electronic device in that you just have to be careful with it, take care of the cord, maybe not drop it all the time like I do?

When I bought my ghd iron less than a year ago, the sales associate at Sephora told me that if I was EVER unhappy with it, or experienced any sort of problems, just to take it back to the store. The product itself came with a one-year warranty, but I believe that Sephora stands behind their products... you should be able to return it at any time!

Question
Is this flatiron heavy?
I'm asking this because I have a medical condition that causes weakness in both of my hands. I don't really want to buy a smaller iron because I have long, thick, curly hair and it would take a lot longer. Thanks.

Personally, I don't think the flat iron is heavy at all! I can straighten my hair start to finish without my hand feeling tired or weighed down.

a couple of things to consider:

1. this iron is very light-weight. (lighter than all of my other curling irons and flat irons)

2. it works so well and so fast that you don't have to leave it in your hair as long as other stylers so your hands are not working for as long or as hard

i've noticed my arms/hands tiring after using other curling irons and flat irons but this one is very comfortable to use.

yes they are worth the money
unlike cheaper irons they leave the hair feeling soft and silky
they do not 'drag' on the hair
they are an investment piece

This is definitely worth the money. I've had my GHD flat iron for almost a year and it still works great, not to mention it heats up in less than 30 seconds so it's easy to use when you're in a hurry! Also great results, I'd never switch back to any other iron again.

Question
will this damage my hair? what kind of heat protector?
i have medium thickness, wavy, dirty blonde hair. It's really fried and damaged from my other straightener (even when i used heat protector.) i'm starting to think its not only the heat protector that screwed up my hair so i'm looking for a new straightener. would this one work for my hair type? will it damage my hair even more? and what kind of heat protector should i use? thanks :)

My hairdresser advised me to always have something between my hair and the iron. I use Chi or sometimes glossing cream. HTH

This product will not damage your hair, but we are dealing with heat. if you use proper products and put in a little effort to give your hair some tlc, your hair should be okay. It has a heat setting that will set to your hair texture, so if your hair is fine it will set itself to the proper heat. For thick hair it will do the same. Always use heat protective hair products when using these tools. I use GHD products and drugstore products as well. You just need to find products that you are comfortable using to keep your hair healthy.

Mine only came with the DVD. The older versions have all of these things but GHD has stopped including them. Sephora should update the site soon.

The GHD pink styler has 1" plates that feature 'floating blade technology' so you don't have to clamp your hair tight between the blades. Just press lightly, and the GHD does it's job beautifully.

definetely not! unless you`re in a big hurry, and it is an isolated incident,DO NOT use it on wet hair. If you watch the DVD that comes with it, you`ll see they say specifically not to use on wet hair. Unless, of course, your intention is to fry it. Blow dry, or even better, air dry hair before using any iron.

Question
Too hot and authenticity question?
I bought the GHD pink few months ago from the Sephora store, and I am wondering when ever I am using the styler it is always really hot, it never cools down or goes down to the correct temperature, should I shut it off and use it? Is there something wrong with my GHD? Also in the manual it say there should be 2 holograms one on the styler and the other on the cord, however I only see the one on the styler and I dont see any on the cord!! So I am just worried If bought a fake (not that sephora sells fake GHD's, but that some one bought a real one and returned it with a fake one in the box, and I picked it up).

I called GHD about mine and they say the hologram is NOT on the cord in the US, only in the UK (that's the confusion on their website). GHD assured me Sephora is an approved retailer and you can register your unit with GHD.

On second part of your comment, Yes, I also think they ARE too hot. Mine was genuine, still too hot, and I returned it.
