Questions & Answers for Smashbox Bionic Mascara

Question
does it hold curl?
i have been using waterproof mascara which is the only thing that holds my curl. I have stick straight, ASIAN eyelashes that won't hold curl. I have used a TON of non-waterproof mascaras that just make my eyelashes droop down back to normal. does this hold curl? please, if you do not have lashes like mine, then please do not answer. preferably asians should answer lol

or can you recommend mascaras that work for asian lashes?
thanks! (:

Girl I have stick asian lashes! I have used 239489 mascaras trying to find one that holds curl, thickens, and lengthens. The mascara I tried that does everything is Giorgio Armani's 'Eyes to Kill.' It's expensive but so is Smashbox Bionic and it does nothing for my lashes! The trick I do is curl my lashes first, apply mascara, then wait for it to dry. Then I curl it again very gently and 'Eyes to Kill' definitely holds that curl all day! Hope this helps.

No, this will NOT hold a curl even with an eyelash curler. If you happen to use an eyelash curler after applying, it dries so hard that your eyelashes will break.

Try a plum, you will be amazed at the difference. It is still dark but not jet black. And Plum really looks great on any skin tone or eye color. I just got the smashbox bionic purple/violet and I like it.

Question
Has anyone had trouble with the tube malfunctioning and bristles flattening out on brush?
I have used this mascara for a long, long time and every tube I've ever owned has malfunctioned on me. The plastic rim at the top of the tube that you pull the brush through to remove excess mascara always pulls out leaving the tube useless. Also I've had trouble with the brush flattening out and the bristles not popping back up after several uses. Has anyone else had these types of problems with Bionic Mascara--just wondering. Thanks.

I wouldn't recommend this mascara to anyone, regardless of ethnicity or type of eyelashes you have......the brush bristles did stick together. It just isn't good mascara....Maybelline has a better mascara than this........I am not sure why they called it Bionic......to grab your attention, I guess. Try the Panthera Ultraflesh...........I'm using that one now and have no complaints

answer 3
It's *pretty* water-resistant. It won't run if you get splashed or tear a little, but after a while in the pool, it gives you racoon eyes. As for washing it off, it's a little stubborn, and I even use face soap in addition to warm water.

If you're looking for water-proof, check out Lorac's Publicity Stunt.
I also had very good luck with Bourjois' Pump Up the Volume in Blue, but I think I just got hold of a good tube, because the same one in black didn't hold up any longer than any other mascara.

I have done this with other mascaras...I know it sounds strange but it works! Boil some water, let it sit until it stops bubbling...Wash the mascara off the wand under some warm water and soap then put the wand in the water. Leave the wand in the hot water until it cools, then set it out to dry thoroughly. You only have to do it once, but if the wand starts going flat, do it again! I do this with all my mascara wands I get so it gets the mascara that has been sitting on it since it was put in the tube off and sterilizes it at the same time! It helps the wand fan right out!
