It depends on your natural eyebrow color. If you are a natural brunette or even light brown, go with the medium ash. If you are a natural pale blond go with the ash blond. I am a natural dark blond and the ash blond color was too light for me, the medium ash was perfect.

Id use the medium ash. It's not too dark or too light. I have natural dark blonde hair, but very light skin, and this color does not over power my features or stand out too much. You can always add more applications to get it darker and darker if the first layer is too light. The next color up looks too dark.

FIrst of all, I had this prob with very little brows after overplucking for years. I think the best thing to do is get a permanent brow done, this is
technically a tattooing process. After that you can follow the line to fill in and adjust as you'd like. If you keep on drawing the brows on, what happens when you are old and can't make a straight line ??

I wouldn't waste my money on this product at all. The colors are "off" and the pencil is greasy and fades very quickly. Do yourself a favor and buy one of Anastasia's other brow pencils, or buy from a different brand. But it sounds like your color would be Medium Ash Brown-- if you want to waste your money on this.

It depends. If you want something that is subtle but not toooooo done, going three shades lighter would be a better option. If you'd like to enhance the framing of your face, I'd go with two shades lighter. I'd suggest brunette since you have tan/olive skin with yellow undertones. The brunette can blend in well with the color of your skin tone as well as with your hair creating natural and thick brows. If you'd like to stick to a lighter shade black, then the ash blonde would be a good choice as it gives subtle looking brows and a youthful overall appearance.

color for sparse dark eyebrows and blonde hair?
my eyebrows are dark but sparse so they look lighter, and my hair is dyed dirty blonde. my question is, should i get the color that matches my eyebrows (brunette) or go lighter so it doesn't look so severe with my blonde hair? the medium ash looks awfully red, which i try to avoid because it looks unnatural on me, but blonde colors are way too light.

I have slightly mousy dark brown hair and very sparse eyebrows. I love this pencil to fill in. You can really build it up so it's darker, or just do one stroke and it's barely there. The color is VERY light and if anything, maybe some yellow-ish undertones. I have light hair, fair skin, but dark features (brows, lashes, etc) - I found it to be a dry pencil, so I had to press very hard to get any kind of effect. You would do best to try a darker shade or different brand. (I like Tarte - Emphaseyes)

I have very dark brown hair that looks black indoors but is truly brown in sunlight. I hope that helps you decide if my answer is relevant for you haha. I found the medium ash shade acceptable but sort of unnatural. It may look pretty natural when others look at me, I felt that when I saw myself in the mirror, it looked a tad too unnatural, like I had filled in my brows. ( which sounds weird, but I actually like a 100% natural look) The brunette may seem dark, but when you smudge it around with the brush, you can actually create a darker or lighter color depending on how much color building or blending you do.

To choose the right shade for your brows, you should consider your skin tone when choosing the right shade. If you're tone is on the lighter side, you could pull off both shades. With the medium ash, you can create subtle and natural brows because it is a lighter shade of black. With brunette, it'll give a much thicker look to your brows and it will still look natural since the color of your hair and brows are black. Not only that, depending on the shape of your brows, the darker color shade can really help enhance the framing of your face. If your skin is more towards the tanner or warmer tones, brunette would be the most natural shade for your eyebrows. The brown color not only blends in well with the hairs of your brows but it also complements the tan or warm skin tones. The medium ash for warmer tones might not complement so well or it might not show because it's a lighter shade. Hope this helps!

The ash is very light. I would not use it on dark brows.

Question
Is the Ash Blonde color more grey than taupe?
The Ash Blonde color example shown here appears grey. Does it have any taupe or light brown warmth?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

I got the medium ash one this time, trying to lighten the look of my brows and it too looked a bit gray. But it looks great when applied. I tried the regular ash blonde and it's more taupe when applied too. Hope this helps!

To me, it's definitely dark blonde and is not the least bit gray. The colors are always way off on this site. I have a realistically calibrated monitor (because I'm in graphic design and it MUST be right) and everything on this site is a gamble when it comes to color. And it's not consistently off. Sometimes it's more intense. Sometimes it's more washed. I don't understand why it's always such a problem.

I tried that shade in the store about 2 weeks ago and I seem to remember it having loads of warmth. I actually personally prefer neutral and ash based shades, so I think that is why I didn't pick it up.

I find this to be more of a taupe. I am a light blonde. It is the perfect shade for me.It looks natural and is so easy to get a good arch without looking like Bert from Sesame Street! The brush is fab too!
