Questions & Answers for Smashbox O-GLOSS - Intuitive Lip Gloss With Goji Berry-C Complex™

Question
Compared to Too Faced's Mood Swing?
The reviews seem to be about even for both products. Has anyone tried the Too Faced product? And how does it compare? Is it worth the extra money to get Smashbox's or should I just go with Too Faced?

I would recommend going to Sephora and trying them both. Each gloss gives a slightly different color. I tend to lean more towards the O-glow because it has a less runny consistency and is a bit more sheer.

I have both and go back and forth with which one I use. I do prefer Too Faced Mood Swing, if I had to choose. Both are very glossy and plush on the lips. The O-Gloss container is easier to manage (tend to squeeze too much out of the the Mood Swing tube at times), but there is a deeper color to the Mood Swing. I always feel like I should have lipstick under the O-Gloss.

The O Gloss and Too Faced's Mood Gloss are very similar products in that they "customize" your lip color but they are both unpredictable as far as what color result you will have. If I had to choose between the two I would go with the O-Gloss because the formula isnt as runny as Too Faced's is.

I've tried the too face mood swing as well. It was awesome also, but I lost it when I was out snowboarding. The mood swing changes color more and isn't as natural looking as the smashbox, but I liked it still. It was fun to wear because it constantly changed colors. I would recommend it! The feel and color of o-gloss is way better though. It feels and looks more natural, and that is the look I go for. It all depends on you.

I have tried both and would say to shy away from the O-GLOSS and go with Too-Faced.

It is a bit more expensive but the results I think are better and the amount of moisture it leaves your lips is incredible. I noticed the day after when I did not have any on who smooth my lips felt. It is a very luxurious feeling. You can always just try it out and if not return them. Sephora is very good about returns, even when opened and used.

I ACTUALLY OWN THEM BOTH AND I LOVE BOTH OF THEM! MOOD SWING DOES ACTUALLY GIVE YOU DIFFERENT SHADES ON YOUR LIPS WHICH IS PRETTY COOL, BUT I LIKE O GLOSS TOO EVEN THOUGH THE SHADE IS THE SAME EVERY TIME ON MY LIPS.
I HOPE THIS HELPS. TRY O GLOSS FIRST IF YOUR ON THE FENCE STILL. THATS WHAT I DID BUT NOW ADDICTED TO BOTH.

I never tried Too Face but Smash Box O GLoss didnt work for me because of the Tingle sensation. That comes along with it. If your a gal that is into lip plumping than this is the product for you.

I did not like Too-Faces because the pink color was much different than the color I got with the O-Gloss. To me, the O-Gloss was a more natural pink, so it was worth the extra money. If I were you, I would try both to see which pink looks better on your skin.

I have tried both and like the shade of Too-Faced's lip gloss better. Just be aware that neither Smashbox or Too Faced change with different skin tones, I have experimented with that.

This one is not a plumper. If you're looking for a good plumper, I'd go with DuWop Lip Venom or the Bare Escentuals Buxom Lip Gloss. Both tingle a bit and really do enhance the over all shape of your lips. Plus they're moisturizing too.

I have O gloss and one of the other basic glosses and they do not have the same texture. O gloss is much silkier and the other feels like a traditional gloss. (Which, I personally don't mind) But if you like the feel of O gloss, it may be best to stick with it.

I've had a few of the regular glosses from Smashbox and the texture is very nice on all of them. I can wear them comfortably without having my lips feel too sticky. However, I love the texture of this gloss the most because it is slightly thinner than the regular glosses, and I do prefer my glosses light.

for the most part yes. i've found if the color is more transparent the less sticky it is. the more opaque colors, like pout, are a little stickier, but not much.

Well, I don't use Smashbox' glosses much, but this gloss isn't amazingly non-sticky. If you're looking for a good non-sticky gloss from smashbox I would probably really recommend... their lip enhancing glosses. I've tried them on before, and the consistency is good. Also the colors are A-M-Azing.

Question
Can you use your fingers to apply?
1. Will it stain your finger?
2. If I have this in a pot (sample pot) and use my finger, will the entire pot of lip gloss change according to the pH of my finger, or do I not need to worry about it?
3. If I use my finger to apply this gloss to my lips, will it react to my finger or my liips?

I have applied it with my finger, and it doesn't seem to change the effect on my lips. It easily wipes off my finger with a tissue, and no staining.

answer 2
I would with the tube and spreading it with your finger. The lip color stays the same even when it has touched your finger, however when you spread it or apply it with your finger, the remaining product left on your finger does turn pink, so that part is really like any other lip gloss. It doesn't stain but I would advise you to remove it with a tissue or whatever immediately.

No. This doesn't stain your fingers at all. It looks clear on fngers and coming out of the tube but reacts with your lips to creat a great hue that matches your skin tone beautifully! I highly recommend this lipgloss!!

I've never noticed a stain. I usually apply directly from the tube but I often spread it around with my finger. Never any problem with color transfer.

It seems to go on clear, and then adjust after a couple seconds. I don't think it would stain the whole pot with you used your finger to apply.
