Questions & Answers for Benefit Cosmetics You Rebel

Question
Does it stay or sweat away?
I live in South Florida. My main concern, of course, with the high temps and higher humidity, is this product coming off as soon as I leave my house.? Will it continue to look smooth, rather than streak with the humidity? ...or should I just go without?

I don't live in hot climate, however, I've had a problem with Mac's Studio Moisture tint sliding off my face when i workout at the Y and also when I was in the pool during my daughter's mommy & me swim class. However, this stuff has not slide off so far. It's been good. I would set this though with maybe a translucent powder to be safe or use a primer under it.

I actually mix it with primer and my foundation. I put a little of all three in my hand, rub together and smooth all three on together. Like you would if you were just putting on moisturizer. I waitress and sweat all night long. I have had good luck with that method. I always get complements on how great my skin looks.

I live in Hawaii and I use this every day with no problems of running or streaking. Sometimes if I'm not careful when applying it can get in my eyes and sting. I wouldn't work out in it, I think it might run if you sweat a lot. If you want sheer coverage with SPF and moisturizer, this is worth a try.

I use a tiny amount of a mineral foundation after the You Rebel has dried. I live in Manhattan, where the summers are hot and sticky. Just using You Rebel, in my experience, will melt off your face :( Just a tiny bit of face powder would do the trick as well, just use one similar to your skin tone as not to wash out the color of You Rebel.

I love that I can wear this to play tennis. I play about 2 - 4 times a week and want to look a bit "put-together" without wearing any other makeup. This gives my skin an even tone and serves as a sunscreen.

Depending on your skin tone, this might be too light for you. Instead of buying a whole tube, you could order something else online and try to get a sample. You could also go into the store and ask for a sample (or just try it there).

It is a great product...even if it is a little light, you could mix it with a traditional foundation.

I believe it would work well on your skin tone. The color is really light, and it blends smoothly so there is no weird lines from where your makeup ends. It only comes in light and dark, and I have olive skin so I think that the light one is only for girls who are super white.

It depends on your skin type. I have REALLY dry skin and during the winter use a moisturize before this. In the summer, I can sometimes get away with just using this.

If you do have dry skin, use the other moisturize about 10 minutes before you put this on (to allow it to soak in).

If you have oily or normal skin, you might be able to use this alone.

This product only comes in two different shades. For people who are fairer and have more yellow tones in their skin, then the you rebel lite works the best for you. For people who have darker skin, then the regular shade will work. I am olive skin and I use the regular shade. When I tried the lite it did not work for me.

If she is fair, definitely go with the lighter one. I have medium/olive skin tone and am pretty tan right now just because of it being summer and the darker one fit my complexion perfectly. To be honest though, since she's a teen and they deal with so much texture/complexion changing and sometimes acne and just all together problem skin, I wouldn't recommend this product at all. It's extremely greasy! I actually took mine back and got the Sephora tinted moisturizer...which is 10$ cheaper...and has an SPF 20. It comes in five different shades and is a matte. It feels very velvety...doesn't feel like you're wearing makeup at all, but gives just enough coverage that you don't need anything else. Urban Decay and Tarte also have great ones. As long as they say oil free...she'll be fine. But even if she has no problems with acne, I feel this product would cause some especially in a teen. Hope this helps.

You Rebel is pretty sheer so your daughter might be okay with either. If she's super fair skinned, I would go with the You Rebel Lite. I have a light olive complexion and have no problems with You Rebel blending in...even after spending a week on the beach and getting sun. I can even use it in the winter when my skin hasn't seen any sun!

I have fair skin but dark hair/eyes and yellow undertones. I use the red (darker one) you can build it up to make it darker (if she tans) though I think if she is pale with perhaps red/pink undertones the lighter version may be better.

You could just use this alone as a "foundation" if you are comfortable with the sheer coverage (it is definitely sheer) but I've found that if I use this first, then brush on some of the Bare Minerals foundation over, then it gives me just enough coverage without looking too heavy.

I've also gotten compliments on how clear my face looks after using both products, so I think it works rather well!

Yes, it is definitely thick enough that you don't need anything else. I would recommend an oil free tinted moisturizer though. Sephora has a very good priced one that comes in five shades...urban decay has a great product...and tarte as well. All of which you don't need to put on any makeup with. They're not as thick as base...but give enough coverage that you don't need it. Hope this helps :)

The coverage on this product is somewhat minimal. This product offers sheer coverage. If you wanted something with better coverage, I would use a liquid foundation, or you could even use a powder over this. I use this on my face daily, but I do not use foundation at all because I only need sheer coverage. Use a powder with it if you need it, if not this product works great on its own!

Is it worth the money?
My friend has been using this for a couple of years now and she is in love with it. It all depends on the person, of course, but I don't use anything else. I worked at beauty stores for years and have tried basically every product out there. I'm very happy with it...both because it keeps my skin moisturized during the day (i have very dry skin) and it covers beautifully. When I don't wear it, people ask me if I'm getting sick.

Having said that, it is important to remember that everyone has different skin and different needs. If you can, ask your friend to let you try it for a few days. That's what I did with my best friend. That was 4 years ago and I literally never buy anything else!
