The utensil itself is plastic. The comb part for the eyelashes is metal, and there's bristles for the eyebrow brush.

The comb part has metal "teeth." I'd actually like it better if the teeth were a bit smaller/sharper, but they seem to work okay. Hope that helps answer your question!

the eyelash comb part is metal. so that part didn't break on me. however, after several years in my makeup bag, the brow part (supported by plastic) eventually did fall apart. but it was a good tool and lasted long enough that i've just bought another one.

the eyelash actual comb is metal! but i find that the metal works better than plastic because plastic breaks easily! hope this helps!

Yes, I believe that's what it's made for. Works much better than the pointed end of a big safety pin we used to use as teenagers. I wipe it off on a tissue after each use to keep it from getting gummed up.

Sort of & yes. I use it to separate my lashes if they get stuck together from mascara application. I have a lot of lashes, so it doesn't separate them entirely &/or perfectly, but it definitely separates the majority & helps with de-clumping.

Unfortunately, I was diappointed in this product. I had a similar product made by another company that I lost during travel. The tines on the lash comb are metal, which is good for combing and separating mascara. However, the tines are spaced too wide apart to make it effective.

Fairly stiff plastic bristles. There is some give but not much. I use it to add powdered eyeshadow to my brows since most brow colors are too dark for me.

Not sure, but the bristles are rough & scratchy. My advice - definitely buy the black Sephora Collection eyelash/brow comb instead! I returned the clear one when it broke only after a few uses.
