Questions & Answers for Boscia Clear Complexion Cleanser

Question
No lather when using with Clarisonic?
I love my Clarisonic brush and started using the Clear Complexion cleanser about a month ago. But it seems as though it doesn't lather much (if at all) with the Clarisonic. Does anyone else notice this? Does it matter if it doesn't produce a lather?

Pump the cleanser directly onto your Clarisonic brush and you will find that it actually gets quite foamy. I find that I have to use less cleanser with the Clairsonic because the cleanser becomes so foamy when I use it this way.

It actually foams up quite a bit when I use it with either my bare hands or my Clarisonic. I think the key is having a wet face and pumping the cleanser directly onto a wet Clarisonic brush head. When using just bare hands, wet your hands first, apply the cleanser directly to your hands, rub your hands together to create foam, and then rub onto your wet face.

Yes, this happens to me too. It's not a problem, the cleanser is still cleaning it just doesn't have enough continuous surface area contact with the bristles to produce a lather. Your skin is going to look great pretty soon!

I don't use it with the clarisonic brush but it doesn't lather that much when I wash by hand, it's still effective though. So it probably won't lather much with the brush either

My friend makes organic beauty products. She said that a product does not need to lather in order for it to work, hence, sulfate-free products.

Question
Breaking out before it clears?
I purchased this product about three weeks ago and I have been breaking out way more than normal. My skin was almost clear and now I have acne again. Is this a process that first you break out getting all the dirt out and then it leaves your skin clear? Or should I just return it?

It broke me out initially because I used it TOO much. I have sensitive skin and this is a pretty harsh product. I found that it works so well it can irritate. So I use it along with the Fresh Soy cleanser and I only use it three times a week. I do really love it though because it helps clear up my dryness and it really gets into your pores its just too exfoliating for everyday use if that makes sense. But since Ive gotten that routine down it works amazing and I love it as an addition to my sensitive cleanser.

Return it. I had the same reaction and I was devastated. My relatively clear skin was covered in whiteheads and under the skin bumps. When I switched back to my normal cleanser, with the same amount of salicylic acid, my skin cleared immediately.

Definitely acne gets worse before it gets better . It is your pores cleansing themselves. That being said, if after a month you still see no improvement it may be time to add on something else that is more medicated.

All it is doing is removing all the gunk from deep down. Like any process of clear skin, from masks, facials, medications, and treatments. It usually gets worse for a while before it gets better. Just stick it out. You have months of build up in your pores.

Honestly, my skin went through a terrible "purging" process when I used this. But here's the thing: my skin was breaking out so badly for like a month and a half of my using this. I was trying to wait it out because that's what everyone said but I wish I didn't because it left a lot of scarring :/ I really wanted to like this cleanser but it just didn't work for me. I even tried it again like 4 months later in hopes that my skin had less purging to do but it still left me more broken out than ever so I finally succumbed and threw it away.

I have plenty of blackheads and sadly no, this product alone hasn't kept them at bay. I use this paired with the Boscia charchoal roll on stick and an exfoliator brush. It's kept my pores small and skin feeling refreshed and blackheads aren't as frequent as they used to be.

Sometimes blackheads (especially on the nose and chin area) are actually hair follicles and can't be cleansed away. I have better luck using a hair lightening product and pore strips than I do with cleansers. But this one DOES help clear up acne!

I don't think any cleanser can get rid of blackheads, those have to be extracted or spot treated, like with pore strips or a facial, maybe even a mask (to my knowledge). However you can prevent blackheads by using a cleanser that has something like salicylic acid in it. I would try something like that, I'm not sure if this cleanser contains any acne fighting ingredients, but Boscia is a pretty good line. Good luck

Question
Is this good for combination/sensitive/acne-prone skin (hormonal)?
Hello,

I was recommended this Clear Complexion line; the makeup oil, this cleanser, the tonic, and the light moisturizer. I have only been using it for few days but I still wanted to know: is this (& the rest of the Clear Complexion line) good for combination/sensitive (some redness on forehead, nose, chin, and light on the cheeks) skin which is prone to acne (which is hormonal; i only breakout on the sides of my cheeks a bit and chin/mouth area)?

Or is this too much for someone with my kind of skin? I've been using everything morning and night except for the makeup oil which I only use at night. Thank you.

I'm a faithful one anniversary user, i had the same problem, nasty oily skin, i got that 360 scrub brush that came with the 360 clean just to get the brush :P used that with the cleanser, problem solved. Just make sure that the pad is always kept clean/ sanitized. I use witch hazel since its natural and not so harsh, then i rinse it in water so that anything left behind wont get on my skin. try that and hopefully it will work just as well for you. If you want even better results try the new clairisonic brush, i hear its amazing. cant wait to get mine :P

Did you use the moisturizer as well? Dry skin breaks out because it is a cycle your skin trys to compensate for the cleaning you just gave it. If you overwash you overdry your face tries to make up lost oil, hence over production clogged pores. You absolutly have to moistureize the bosica moisture is great for troubled skin.

I use all four clear complection products for my combination skin and I love it. I tend to really break out and get oily around my period so I use their willow bark breakout spot treatment and it clears it right up. to help clear up blackheads and those pesky ones under the skin make sure you exfoliate regularly and wipe down your cell phone every morning with rubbing alcohol. You'll be surprised how much better your face is if you clean your phone!
