I am like you, I have fair skin and an oily T Zone. All of Clinique's products are hypoallergenic and they are fragrance free. I haven't experienced any irritation or breakouts from this product.

This is recommended for sensitive skin. I have sensitive skin also and this works great. It is not really thick, but does not spread easily. Just put on moisturizer underneath, if you need to.

No, not waterproof, but long-wearing.

It's not waterproof- If you want a waterproof I suggest shiseido ultimate sun protection lotion for face and body- very water resistant, but you will need an oil based cleanser to remove it (shiseido ultimate cleansing oil for face and body works very well)

No product is completely waterproof, but I would say that Clinique City Block is fairly water resistant. But with any product that has an SPF you need to reapply every 2 hours and more often if you towel off, spend a lot of time in water, and perspire heavily.

I wouldn't say its waterproof, maybe water resistant. You should probably re-apply after sweating a lot, too.

It's very sheer and blends in well with many skin tones.

It does have a tint to it but once you put it on and blend it in completely you can't see anything.

City Block Sheer Oil-Free Daily Face Protector SPF 25 is very sheer. It appears tinted, but it's just a light natural blend that doesn't leave the white residue on your face. I love it! Plus it doesn't have that bad sunscreen smell. It's exactly what I was searching for.

This does have a tint - a light buff / beige color. But I too have very fair
skin & it doesn't really show. I put my foundation right on top of this

It doesn't have a smell that most sunscreens have, it does have a smell to it at first though. However, after a few minutes it goes away completely.

I do not like strong smells on face products. This does not have a sunscreen smell and I use it without moisturizer. My skin is normal - dry. It is not heavy and invisible on your skin.

There is no bad "sun screen" smell. How well I know that odor - like bug spray. No, nothing like that. if you have doubts, go to the cosmetic counter and check it out. The product has helped my skin in a number of ways. I have to wear sunblock for several reasons. I recommend this product and would buy it agiain.

I do, too. With this product I have to apply moisturizer first. But, I believe this offers greater protection than a moisturizer with SPF. No smell at all. Does not apply like a moisturizer, it is slightly thick and does not spread easily.

Since it is a tinted moisturizer WITH spf.. I would use the product as you would a moisturizer.. by rubbing it on the skin a bit.. not painting and blending like you would do with makeup. The tint really isn't much anyways.. it's just a little added benefit for very LIGHT coverage.

I have, and depending on your foundation brush, it does give a nice sheer finish. But with tinted moisturizers like the City Block it's the same as with foundations, some prefer putting it on with fingers, others with brushes... Just a matter of preference!

I think it's mainly supposed to be used as a tinted sunscreen. It's very sheer and I don't see any way of increasing the coverage. It works well as a primer though, so you could go with a powder or liquid on top of it, whatever you prefer.

I think it depends on your skin and the type of makeup you use. I have combination skin and have gotten by using it as a primer. I don't, though, because I like to have more "insurance" under my makeup. I use a separate primer.

I put on the protector first and then wear my mineral make-up over it. Works great.

Either way you use it, on top or underneath, it definitely doesn't work as a primer.

The SPF40 sunscreen has 1 chemical sunscreen along with the mineral ones; the SPF25 one is mineral only, making it the best for sensitive skin. According to Beautypedia.com, the SPF40 one has a potentially irritating fragrant plant extract in it, so I'd suggest you stick with the SPF25 one which is rated as a Best Pick on that site. I have tried both and prefer the SPF25 one because the SPF40 one made me break out (a few years ago and way before I new about Beautypedia).

The Sheer City Block 25 SPF was less 'heavy' to me... try them both if you can before buying.

When I have a soccer game or am going to be out extensively I bump up to the stronger one. It is heavier and thicker but does not break me out. I would probably consider it too heavy for everyday.

City Block 25 is my preference because it doesn't irritate my skin like the higher spf City Block. If you don't have sensitive skin though the higher spf is nice and I don't have a problem with oiliness when using this product except for on the most muggy and hot of days in the summer when pretty much nothing seems to not make my skin look pretty gross. :-)

There is a tint to it in the bottle but it doesn't change the color of my skin when I put it on (i'm fairly pale).

There is a very sheer, slight beige tint. Some people say that this is not noticeable on them, but I can definitely tell. It is slightly to dark for my very pale skin, but it looks nice, like I've just had a bit of sun. There is only one "tint", if you will.

I intern at a cosmetics company in R&D. BiOCl is found in many, if not most, cosmetic products so I would be careful with mineral and color products. However, most foundations and face products (if not derived from 'minerals') should be fine. Just take caution when purchasing cosmetics though- it's everywhere! Good luck!
