Is the sample for men??
I selected the sample of Dolce & Gabbana The One with an order recently, thinking it was a men's cologne. I gave it to my husband to try and we both LOVE it; however, when I went to order it I realized that there is one for men and one for women. I don't want to order the wrong one, as the sample does not say "for men" on it, but I guess my question is this: are there any men out there who have worn the "women's" fragrance? It smells sort of masculine to me, but I don't want to order the "men's" if it smells completely different.

on The One
I had the same question/ problem!
I LOVED the sample. It DIDNT say "for men". But when I looked up my order history, which lists the free samples , it DID say that I chose( and Sephora sent) the gentlemen's cologne.
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! But I just may try the women's rollerball too!
I remember smelling the men's version and thinking women who like unisex scents would probably go for the man's version too. The women's version is a spicy floral and very feminine so I don't really think a man would go for that, in my opinion. There are descriptions of the "notes" on on the testers, so I would think a Sephora rep could give you a list over the phone from one of their stores. I hope you get the one (no pun intended!) that you're looking for.

My husband and I both wear the One. His is muskier and a heavier scent. My is lighter and more "vanilla sweet?' They are in the same family but distinctive difference. If your sample says "Por Homme" it's for men, otherwise it's ladies.

I don't think there's any mistaking the women's EDP for the men's...the women's is very feminine to me.

The men's cologne is definitely muskier and the women's perfume is more floral and sweeter. It's a matter of preference. My guy friends who like sweeter and more floral fragrances wear women's perfume and my girlfriends who prefer muskier scents wear men's cologne.

If it does not say "for men", then it should be the women's perfume. I think that the men's perfume simply is more woody and has less fruity and floral undertones than the women's. However, the scents are very similar, though the men's is definitely stronger.
I have heard of women who wear men's cologne, so I don't see much of a problem with a man wearing women's perfume. Your husband definitely could wear the One if he wanted to, but I suggest that you check your local Sephora store and smell both, just in case he ends up liking the men's version better. Good luck!
There is a distinct difference, the man's fragrance is more stronger than the the women's.
