I, too, have been using a light fluffy brush with bristles, however, strong enough to brush off excess. As with all fine powders, it can settle in crevces such as the ones near your nose.

You NEED a Fan Brush for this products application. Otherwise, you won't get the desired sheer, glowy look. A fluffy brush, kabooki brush, blush brush, etc -- those are designed to pick up more product for COVERAGE. However, this product is designed for SHEER coverage and a finished look. With using the other brushes, not only are you applying TOO much, but burning through the product quicker. When I purchased this, the lady at the make up counter suggest the Fan Brush (Laura Mercier makes one for $30 -- but other brands make cheaper ones, I personally just bought the Laura Mercier one). However I told her no thanks, and decided to use my other brushes. After three days of attempting to use the product, I still couldn't achieve the results that I did the day I tried it. So I did go back and buy the Fan Brush, and *viola* perfect results!! Plus Im probably using a 5th of the powder per application using the Fan brush -- I've had this for about 6 months, and not even half through it! I would suggest sweeping it ALL over the face gently, and then an extra swipe on the oil prone areas (for me, my nose, forehead right aboce my eyebrowns, slightly on the chin, and on the apples of my cheeks).
