answer 1
NO! If you are prone to acne, you should avoid all products containing corn starch. Because it is an organic product (i.e. vegetable) it promotes the growth of bacteria. Stick to powders with mineral-based, non-organic ingredients, such as talc.

I've had acne in the past as well, and this didn't cause any breakouts for me or irritate my skin at all.

I'm not sure about the powder not getting in your eyes, I'd recommend applying with a sponge of some sort if that's a concern (the Laura Mercier ones are awesome and you can wash and reuse them forever) As far as the acne goes... my skin was awful and I'm still very sensitive to most products. I didn't seem to have any breakouts or issues using this powder. I also recall there being a huge selection of shades, both golden and rose, so you shouldn't have trouble finding one that works for you. If you're looking for better coverage though, I'd recommend the Laura Mercier mineral powder foundation. It's a miracle powder! (I'm a Mercier fan if you haven't noticed) I get lots of compliments on my skin when I have it on and I think it actually improves my overall tone, even after it's off.

Unsure about the tone, portion of the question...I don't have acne per se, but do break out time to time (who doesn't?) and some other products have increased the amount of breakouts...this one did not.

I have never liked the loose powder. It has wrecked too many blouses and gotten into my contacts because it becomes airborne. I have been recovering from roseacea and can say that it doesn't sting and actually has made my face feel softer. I wouldn't think it would bring on an outbreak-I haven't had any (knock on wood). There are a lot of tones to choose from.

Not sure about the yellow undertones-but I'm sure they have a shade for it. I do get occasional adult acne and this has not aggravated it. I use a brush and clean it often. I would not use a make up sponge unless you use a new one each time.

I think this product would be fine for acned skin. it's very light, and can be layered even on my oily skin without caking. you could also switch to a different loose powder; if the one you are using is stinging- I assume you keep your eyes closed while applying loose powder- I would try a different product. a friend who had oily, acne prone skin liked Benefit's Bluff Dust. it is very transparent, but does have a yellow tinge that would work for all warm complexions. I like Make Up Forever's Microfinish Powder. it has no color at all. with any loose powder, I am sure to do the following: start with less product, and build coverage as needed; hold my breath when applying [any loose powder is being inhaled, so I like to take this precaution], and keep my eyes closed. also make sure you get yourself a good, quality powder brush like Sephora Brand powder brush #49. the short handle of this brush will make applications more controllable, and it is a nice, soft natural bristle brush that will hold a good amount of powder. dip your brush into your loose powder, then tap the brush against the container to 'unload' excess powder; then dust your face.
a great product for acne and congested skin is philosophy's Hope in a Bottle. it sounds like you have a good skincare regimen in place, but I just thought I'd mention this product; I've used it with good results.
I hope this helped!
