Questions & Answers for Hourglass Finishing Brush No. 7

Question
Where are these brushes made?
I'm looking for nice brushes that don't shed and aren't made in China. Laura Mercer recently switched at least some of her brushes to China and beyond the ethical issues, quality has suffered too

Don't know where they are made but this brush cleans easily and returns to it's original softness when dry. I have had one for two + years and no shedding AT ALL.

This brush is made in China. BUT, this is one of the best brushes I have ever bought from Sephora. I have had mine for a very long time (years) and it is of excellent quality. It has never shed a hair.

Question
Is it better than MUFE's kabuki?
My Make Up For Ever Kabuki brush with its little zipper case sleeve is my baby, and since I bought it over a year ago it has been my favorite brush ever.

Is this brush basically the same thing? Does anyone own both brushes? How do they compare to each other as far as the balance, handle, maintenance, and usage go? Are they comparable in size, i.e. could it fit in my MUFE kabuki case? Or does it come with its own?

Thanks in advance for your comments :)

I can only answer one part of your question but I hope this helps. This does not come with a case, which is a bummer considering the price. I use an old makeup brush bag (Bobbi Brown) to keep it in my purse so I can use it for touchups. This is a very large, brush, one of the largest kabuki-style ones I've seen. I imagine that it will be bigger than the MUFE brush and will likely NOT fit in the MUFE case. The quality is excellent though. I have yet to find a similar brush that I like better. The handle is very comfortable to use and the overall feel of the brush is extremely luxe.

Question
Is this brush as soft as the MUFE kabuki brush?
I have the MUFE kabuki brush which was $40. This one is $65. Is it because is softer? MUFE is extremely sof and I love it, but is this softer?

I like it better - it is quadruple glued, stapled and razor cut. I've had mine for 2 years, wash it all the time, and have yet to lose a hair. LOVE IT

You can use this brush with mineral powder as will as liquid foundation. It is a wonderful brush. I wash my brush at least once a week and use a spray of alcohol to clean in between weekly cleanings. It's Takelon so alcohol is okay to use on it.

Question
How does this compare to the Nars Botan?
Has anyone used both? I had my makeup done at a Nars event, and loooved the way the powder foundation applied with the Botan brush. However, after reading reviews, it seems that a lot of people have complaints about the Botan bleeding dye and shedding, and just in general being hard on the upkeep. This seems to be of sturdier build, but I was wondering if anyone can speak to the finish it gives in comparison. TIA!
