This is a PRIMER not a moisturizer. It needs to go on AFTER the moisturizer to faciliate the application of your make-up. It is not recommended to use in place of a mosturizer (unless of course you have oily skin and would not use a mosturizer anyway).

After. This should be the last thing you put on before foundation. Be sure to allow time between each step for the product to absorb however. If you are using this product with a moisturizer, go easy on the moisturizer!

I think that depends on each person's skin type and needs. I have combination skin and found that if I had applied moisturizer after washing my face the night before, then I did not need to apply any moisturizer at all the next morning when applying this before putting on my makeup. I also preferred the matte-look that it gave my skin when doing it that way. But I also think that due to the nice liquid-consistency of this primer that it would work just as well whether applied over or under a moisturizer; although I would imagine that it would make more sense to apply the moisturizer first (to moisturize your skin) and then apply this on top since this is more for outward appearance and texture. Hope this helps!

You know, it really didn't specify on the bottle. Being that it is a serum, I apply it before my moisturizer so it "sinks in" my skin very well. Works wonderfully with my skin. I had no problems with this product at all and it feels so lightweight too.

Question
Looking for the perfect complexion
Looking over your products, first I felt like this is exactly what I needed to smooth my complexion of LARGE PORES, PITS OR UNEVEN SKIN.
I need a product to give me that flawless complexion with a smooth look and looking in the mirror outside without seeing the large pores, scars, and uneven complexion. I am 54 and dont want plastic surgery. Can you help? Are your products what I am looking for without the mask appearance? I need your help. I would be great to feel like I didnt have to hide my face. Please and Thanks

I've tried the Priming Serum and I think it's a great start. Follow with a light foundation or tinted moisturizer and some strategically placed, quality concealer (I like Lorac for under the eye and Benefit's Erase Paste for those difficult areas). Get Even powder by Benefit is also a good product - finish your makeup look with it for a smooth complexion that hides pores and shine well without that caked-on makeup look. The idea is to use good quality makeup in moderation so as not to look too made-up. Also, stay away from anything shimmery! It will just highlight problem areas. Good Luck!

This product alone is most likely not going to give your skin a more even appearance. This will just prep your skin by slightly evening out the skin's surface in preparation for whatever foundation coverage you choose to apply and will also help that makeup look better, wear better, and last longer. For the type of flawless complexion and coverage you seem to be looking for, I would recommend a makeup line such as Bare Minerals. It is a loose-powder makeup that conceals and gives excellent coverage, all while looking light and natural and not heavy or caked-on. I, too, have problem skin, blotchy, uneven skin tone, and blemishes and have struggled for years to find a good makeup product, but have been very pleased with the results provided by the Bare Minerals line of makeup and skincare products. Hope this helps!

This is the only FX product I have used. It is perfect for your uneven skintone, But for the pits and pores I think Kinerase has the best line for that. It shrunk my pores, but it's a little pricey. My brother-in-law in really happy with Murad's pore and pit treatment.

It certainly helped with my very large pores. I have oily skin and I have noticed that my pores are not as noticeable when I use this under my makeup.

I just received this answer from Lee at CoverFX:
SkinPrep FX can be used without moisturizer as it has hydrating properties along with therapeutic benefits. If you want to include moisturizer in your skin care regiment, use moisturizer first, SkinPrep FX and then foundation.

I think it depends on what kind of skin you have. If on the oily side (like me), I'd suggest using only Skinprep and skip the moisturizer -- even this is a little bit on the heavy side for my skin so I try to use only a dab on the forehead and cheeks.

Question
Do you use this before or after moisturizer?
I am on accutane and so I'm in need of a lot of moisturizer. Is it best to use this before or after moisturizer? I use moisturizer and foundation now. And like this product but am not sure if I'm getting the maximum benefits by using it after moisturizer.

Also at night I use REN Omega 3 Overnight lipid renewal and then moisturizer. Should I use Skinprep instead?

Thanks so much!

The Skinprep FX treatment and priming seurm is really great for all skin types. It does pretty much all of the same as the Clearprep FX, The only difference is if you have very sensitive skin, acne, or oily skin the clearprep FX will be better because it is a gel, which is lightweight and under make up
there is less shine.

no moisturizer necessary...i have combination skin which gets very dry in the winter months. after i wash my face, i apply the primer with a brush and then the cx foundation on top (with the same brush). i find the primer to be hydrating enough..and feel when i did use a moisturizer prior to the primer, my face began to look a bit greasy and my foundation somewhat cakey.!

i also just showed this makeup to my mom who is 53....just the primer and foundation and she loved the combination as well!

Question
Good for oily T-zone?
The previous primer I was using did nothing for oil control, and my foundation would "separate" on my face after a few hours. How is this primer?

I too battle the oily T-zone. I think this product works well for that issue. It doesn't completely stop the oil throughout the day but my "face" doesn't seem to fade as easily as with other products.
