i am light to medium. never really considered my self to have cool undertones, i took a chance & order the cool beige . it matches my skin tone perfectly. blends in like silky perfection, but definetly controls shine. i depended on the color match promise in case i had to return. luckily it was perfect.

I have one shade for winter, another for summer. If you're getting a shade too light, just take it back to the store and they will find the right one! Love this place.

Figuring out if you havve golden or reddish undertones is key. If you see more yellow in your skin, the you have golden undertones which require a Sephora shade with a D at the end, if you see more red in your skin, then get a foundation with an R at the end. If you have red undertones and you buy a foundation with Golden undertones, it's going to look lighter possibly ashy.

Put over liquid even with oily skin
Would this prevent your skin from getting oily even after putting on a liquid foundation?

I find any liquid foundation to make my face really oily by noon, even if I cover it with a powder which makes your face looked caked with makeup. Try a matifying lotion before you apply your makeup and see if a heavier type powder would achieve the coverage you're looking for.

I would think the liquid foundation would make you feel oily. This one does not. I put on a couple of coats until I get the coverage I want, and it never feels caked on, or clogs the pores. I just wear this alone. I love it.

I checked with the beauty advisors b4 purchasing re. the comparable lightness of this shade vs. other shades and shades of other brands, this is the lightest pink-toned shade in this product line/category. This is the first time I've found a light shade in a pink undertone that did not cause application areas to be darker than my skin. I have mild rosacea and the buildable coverage evens this out without appearing "plastered over".

Yes, it comes with a sponge, but I prefer to use a kabuki brush to apply it.

Comes with a nice round sponge, which does not crumble or fall apart. Does the job well.

Yes it does. It's hard to see in the picture, but the applicator fits into a compartment underneath the foundation. There is also a mirror. The applicator is unlike your usual powder foundation applicators - it's black and has a very velvety touch. Also provides smooth coverage and can be used wet/dry without it turning weird and flaky.

I liked the "D" as a warm tan - you can go light in the application if the coverage seems to much.

It is definatly worth the price. It normally lasts me about a month to 2 months depending on how often you use it and how hard you press the applicator on the product.

The best way to apply it wet is to grab the sponge included, wet it, then use it as you regularly would and repeat until you recieve the amount of coverage fit.

the easiest way would be to get a large sponge soaked in water and just wipe that on your face. but whether that would work or not depends on the ingredients. Or you can scoop out a little, mash it into a loose mineral form, and add face moustureizer to that. You might want to ask a sephora beauty consultant first though.

For olive skin tone I suggest a D in the early 30's range. The best thing you can do though is to go ask to get color matched or check out the colors yourself. There are samples in the store with clean disposable applicatiors which means that you won't have to worry about thing like infection. Then you should apply colors around that range until you find a color that suits YOU. I know that if you are ordering online that this is not what you want to hear but just glancing at the colors is not going to help. By myself I would've picked the wrong color and be kicking myself for wasting my efforts on such a good product.

The best tones for olive skin are the D#'s because of the color of the undertone a yellow or warm, so depending on your coloring fair to dark you should pick the colors that way. I wear D33 and I am a medium olive skin tone. Hope this helps. and p.s ....I'm a makeup artist

If you want fuller coverage, use it wet [do this by dampening the applicator with a bit of water] and apply it but if you're using the "wet application" method, you don't need concealer unless your skin tone is really uneven. Use the dry method with a good concealer.

good luck!
