Question
when i use up the tip of my eyeliner, how do i sharpen it?

answer 1
The key to sharpening an eyeliner pencil is to use a sharpener designed specifically for eyeliner pencils. Frequently you can find two sizes, one for regular sized pencils & one for thicker ones. If you have a thicker eyeliner pencil, you will need to get the bigger size in order to sharpen it. In general, regular pencil sharpeners (for office supply pencils) will not work well on eyeliner pencils and the points will not turn out well. Just use the eyeliner pencil sharpener on the eyeliner the same way you'd use a regular pencil shapener to sharpen a pencil - insert the eyeliner, turn it slowly, watching for when it becomes as sharp as you'd like. Then just pull it slowly out of the sharpener. Carefully wipe the end of the eyeliner pencil with a bit of paper towel to remove any excess color. This is particularly important if the eyeliner pencil is made of wood, as it prevents bits of wood falling into your eyes when you line your eyes. Also, it keeps flecks of color from falling onto your cloting, upholstery, or carpets where it will disperse & create a mess.

Get a special eyeliner sharpener from sephora for it. They have several specifically for different eyeliners.

You can sharpen the pencil with any regular beauty pencil sharpener. If you go to the Sephora site and look at the sharpeners they have, there are a wide range of them from different companies to choose from, but I would recommend a Sephora pencil sharpener because I'm sure Sephora designs their sharpeners based on the eye pencils they come up with.

Hi,

Sephora sells a variety of sharpeners that work perfectly. Look for one that contains the shavings in an enclosed section, plus one that has a duo size. They're very inexpensive and last until they get lost. Sephora makes as nice duo sharpener as does NARS and UD (Grind House). DuWop had a great duo sharpener, too, that sanitizes tips as it sharpens. I've found a good sharpener with really sharp blades protects from product loss and drag caused by poor sharpeners or dull blades.

Put it in the freezer for about 15 minutes first, then sharpen with a small sharpener and it with give you a nice sharp point. Let it warm up prior to using after you sharpen it.

There are different eyeliner sharpeners you can purchase and many different places. Sephora sells one for about $2 as does Walmart, CVS, etc. If you have a jumbo eyeliner make sure you have a sharpener that has a larger hole. :)

I find that the nice turquoise would look very nice with beautiful light green eyes especially if u dont put the eye liner very dark like use it very lightly cuz u have light eye colors...another thing that would look good with ur light green eyes & ur turquoise eye liner would be a ligt purple are even a green eyeshadow.

The turquoise would be too similar to your eye color and do nothing for it.

I don't know if you mean the Flashy Brown or Flashy Copper, but either would be much better for you.

I also have light green eyes, and I've found that UD's Lucky eyeliner pencil does amazing things for the color. Just a couple of hours ago, I was in a Sephora and swatched both UD Lucky and Sephora brand Flashy Brown, and they were almost identical in color. I haven't worn the Sephora brand liner yet, so I can't tell you how well it wears, but the Flashy Brown would probably be a good choice if you want to make your eye color "pop."

I have sensitive eyes as well and this has never irritated them, just have some strong eye makeup remover on hand because it is waterproof! I wear it underneath my lash line and that may have something to do with it not irritating and since the colors are so bright they go perfectly there.

Most colors show on the waterline. Green, blue, and purple DO show up, but not as brightly as they would on skin. The white does not show up at all; it just gives a hint of shimmer to the waterline. The black shows very well.

Yes, it does! That's why I LOVE these liners! They show on the water line and under your eyes. The color dissolves after a couple of hours though. I apply mine in the morning, and after couple of hours the color is gone from my waterline, but I make sure to put the liner under my eyes too, that way even after the liner disappears from my waterline the liner under my eyes is still there and vibrant.

Oily or not, if you rub your eyes with any liner they will smudge. It doesn't smudge badly for me if I by mistake rub my eyes, but since you have oily eyes, I think it would smudge badly for you. To keep this liner sharpened and pointy you just have to sharpen the liner (not too much though) and that should work. I would recommend you buy a Sephora sharpener that works for me!

Even when sharpened the pencil never gets too sharp. If you need to make it a little smoother try rubbing the pencil across the back of your hand until the point smoothes down.

Hello, I would suggest to use a powder on the lid first to make it last longer. Also, rub the pencil on the back of your hand to make it less pointy.

I have oily eyelids too, and it does smudge a little bit. I set it with translucent face powder, and that it helps it stay put better. The colors are great, and the pencil is inexpensive, so that outweighs the smudging for me. I also bought the sharpener from Sephora (the professional one that will sharpen both small and large pencils), and it works really well!

I have oily eyelids too, but I always use an eyeshodow base which takes away the oily residue and keeps the pencil in place. It really does not smudge too much unless you want it to.

Yes, the colors are indeed a lot more vibrant in color then the swatches you see on the site. When I first saw the Flashy Green I thought it was just a little bit shiny, but when I put it on, it was VERY vibrant! I love the black one though, it REALLY brings out the eyes.
I've used the UD eyeliners too, and thankfully these liners aren't AS creamy as the UD liners are.

Hi,

They're better in actuality. Some of the vibrancy is lost on the computers, and I'm looking at three different ones, just to confirm (HP HP and Gateway). It's creamy, too, so that it can glide on, but not creamy enough to break.

I'm no expert but I have used this on my waterline. I got no irritation or any problems, however, it didn't stay on the actual waterline long but floated down into my lower lashes. It is actually a nice look I think. It doesn't get smudgie or create a raccoon look it just settles on the lashes for me. Hope this helps!

Yes all the flahsy liners I have been able to find in the stores in the Midwest, However sometimes they are out seeing as we are going through a recession, Ask if you don't see what you are looking for, I've noticed often times they have them stacked away and will get them out for you. Also the store will take them back no questions asked if you try it out and don't like it, OR if they don't have it in stock, They will offer to order it online for you and pay for shipping for you! A great little perk!
