Question
How do i sharpen it?
This liner does not seem like the conventional wood pencil liner. The tip is blunt but i have no idea how to sharpen it, is it fine to do it the normal way of inserting it into a sharpener?

Yes, these liners can be sharpened. You should use a beauty eyeliner sharpener to sharpen these liners, otherwise if you use a regular pencil sharpener they cut off or break off easily.

Hi,

Sephora sells a variety of sharpeners that work perfectly. Look for one that contains the shavings in an enclosed section, plus one that has a duo size. They're very inexpensive and last until they get lost. Sephora makes as nice duo sharpener as does NARS and UD (Grind House). DuWop had a great duo sharpener, too, that sanitizes tips as it sharpens. I've found a good sharpener with really sharp blades protects from product loss and drag caused by poor sharpeners or dull blades.

Question
brown eyes with blue eyeliner?
I'm asian so I have brown eyes. I'm wondering if Sephora's Flash Blue eyeliner would look nice on me. i usually wear a lot of blue. I'm also tired of using browns and blacks. I just want a different color that would bring out my eyes. If not blue, what else?

Question
How do I sharpen the Flashy liner waterproof pencil?
There is a cap on one end of the product and a twistable end on the other that I assumed was to be used to extend more product but this does not seem to be the case. Please advise as I feel really stupid for not being able to figure this out. Thanks.

I have used the sephora eyeliner sharpener. As each eyeliner, lipliner or eyepencil is a different shape or brand i just have one for each brand so that i know that it will fit. you should not have any problem but i would also talk to a beauty expert at sephora and double check with them...

You can definitely sharpen these liners! I have most of the colors and I use my Black liner EVERYDAY, so I run out of the liner pretty quickly and I sharpen mine every time I use it. Just be careful when sharpening them though, because the liner is creamy and if you sharpen too much then it breaks. Hope this helps! Enjoy!

Yes all the flahsy liners I have been able to find in the stores in the Midwest, However sometimes they are out seeing as we are going through a recession, Ask if you don't see what you are looking for, I've noticed often times they have them stacked away and will get them out for you. Also the store will take them back no questions asked if you try it out and don't like it, OR if they don't have it in stock, They will offer to order it online for you and pay for shipping for you! A great little perk!

The key to sharpening an eyeliner pencil is to use a sharpener designed specifically for eyeliner pencils. Frequently you can find two sizes, one for regular sized pencils & one for thicker ones. If you have a thicker eyeliner pencil, you will need to get the bigger size in order to sharpen it. In general, regular pencil sharpeners (for office supply pencils) will not work well on eyeliner pencils and the points will not turn out well. Just use the eyeliner pencil sharpener on the eyeliner the same way you'd use a regular pencil shapener to sharpen a pencil - insert the eyeliner, turn it slowly, watching for when it becomes as sharp as you'd like. Then just pull it slowly out of the sharpener. Carefully wipe the end of the eyeliner pencil with a bit of paper towel to remove any excess color. This is particularly important if the eyeliner pencil is made of wood, as it prevents bits of wood falling into your eyes when you line your eyes. Also, it keeps flecks of color from falling onto your cloting, upholstery, or carpets where it will disperse & create a mess.

You can sharpen the pencil with any regular beauty pencil sharpener. If you go to the Sephora site and look at the sharpeners they have, there are a wide range of them from different companies to choose from, but I would recommend a Sephora pencil sharpener because I'm sure Sephora designs their sharpeners based on the eye pencils they come up with.

To keep the liner from breaking or cutting chunks off, buy a sharpener that has plenty of room towards where the pointy part moves as you sharpen the pencil. Like a sephora band duel sharpener, they're cheap and efficient.

Try sharpening it not as sharply as you have been. You don't need it that pointy since the point will only break off anyway. Also, make sure you use a good sharp sharpener. Invest a couple of dollars if you have to, It will make all the difference.

A long time secret of Make up artists, put it in the freezer for a short time prior to sharpening. The reason its breaking off in chunks is because its so soft & creamy, so by freezing first it hardens it up so you can get a nice sharp tip without wasting product. Then let it warm up a bit before using.
