I am really fair and do not tan. I have used the luminous and the color seems to fit well. I would encourage you to read the reviews on the product before you make your purchase. It is very expensive and the is little in the container. Good luck to you.

I bought the luminous and I have fair skin too. I would say it doesn't matter which one you buy because the color is very sheer so you should be fine either way. Do you put makeup over it? If you don't wear foundation, then you probably would like the luminous better. The sample I had was Radiant and it wasn't too bad a shade even for me with fair skin, but I do have a lot of pink color in my skin not pale white so I could have gone with Radiant as well.

I have fair/light skin and use the radiant shade. It is in the middle, and is a tad orange during the winter. Very light skin should stick with the lightest shade and possibly the second lightest in summer.

This product blends so well you could use the lightest shade. I use a shade slightly darker because my fair skin looks pale and sickly some days and since it blends so well and is sheer enough, the color doesn't leave a line like most would at where the edges of the face meet the neck.

This is not a concealer, it is basically a primer. It perfects the skin, but does not cover the acne scars I have (only concealer does). I have very dry skin in the winter, and this product does not aggravate it at all.

Yes! It doesn't work so much as a concealer as it does an overall skin tone evener. It doesn't hide acne/blemishes, but it makes your skin appear smoother and more even overall. And it's very moisturizing, so it should work well for dry skin.

If your skin is TRULY dry & red and needs a cover up, , my answer would have to be NO!! This CLEAR product is not as good for very dry, red skin (Do you have Roseacea? ) as the HD elixer by Make-up Forever mixed with the tinted moisturizer by Laura Mercier for some coverage. This mixture is heavenly. Laura's foundations are, in my opinion (as a lifelong make-up junkie & former make-up artist) the best in the business. Her new creme smooth formula is a God send for dry skin like ours The coverage is buildable & not masklike. . Be sure to use a NATURAL sable foundation brush or the taklon used in the vast majority of foundation brushes could irritate your skin, if you have Roseacea like I do. This condition is characterized by redness on the nose, cheeks & forehead, Breakouts under the skin sometimes occur.
The Philiosophy moisturizing primer with dermaxyl( it's kind of pink in color- don''t confuse it with another primer in their line of similar color) It is even better when used with Philospohy's newest, white targeted pore & line primer product. , which is, essentially, a wrinkle filler, I discovered the Philosophy combination is a lot pricier & you STILL need a concealer. I save money and get a wonderful look using 3 drops of the Make up Forever HD Elixer and about a dime size amount of the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer as a primer. The Skin Perfection Gel felt to me, more like a medium strength moisturizer for athletic combination skin types who are dry under the eys, & in the cheeks . I'm surmising it is being marketed to women with combination skin as it emphasizes fighting FURTHER environmental damage.

Yes, it's a primer - but you can also use it by itself without foundation, as well. I think that's why they don't specifically call it a primer. Many people who've commented use it as a primer, and the texture feels lighter, but silky like a primer.

If used on it's own, though, it's not like a foundation that you build coverage with - it's more like an alternative when you just need light coverage or want to even out your skintone. It's not going to cover acne, for example, but does reduce the appearance of pores - especially in photos.

It is considered a primer, although I use it as my foundation and don't apply a liquid nor powder foundation on top. I only spot treat any acne with a concealer stick by Smashbox. If you apply a liquid foundation on top, you loose the purpose of this product. It evens out skin tone, and leaves skin fresh looking.

It mattifies and I am almost positive it will help heal skin! It improved the texture of my skin during cold winter months. I have combo skin with dry cheeks and 4 of the 5 ingredients are vitamins! Try the travel size, u cant go wrong with that deal. Id do a double-thin layer n be out the door. Id apply a thin layer with light sweeping n patting motion. Then wait a minute for it to set. The 2nd layer id pat btwn my finger tips a few times then pat onto the under eye & around the nose area, for a bit more coverage. The PATTING motion allows air into the formula and leaves a poreless, airbrushed finish.

I'm currently using Perricone MD products so no longer have breakouts (I'm 37), but I have rosacea on my cheeks and large pores, and I've tried Smashbox and would say I like this better for two reasons. First, you can wear it alone, which is especially nice in summer when you might not want to do full makeup, but want some coverage especially for photos. Second, it's lighter-weight, so you use less of it.

It never broke me out when I was using it before I started with the Perricone line, which Smashbox did do to me if I used it more than 3 days in a row. I'm not sure if it's because of the lighter texture or ingredients, but I would say definitely give this a try.

I have acne proned skin and tried Smashbox's primers. The green one left my skin looking ill and all of thier primers clogged and enhanced my pores making them worse. The sales girl gave me a sample that lasted over a week and it doesn't make me breakout (now I own a large bottle). In my opinion it's more for evening out skin, not covering up acne, but it even's out my skin tone leaving it smooth and a nice natural warm glow. Too me, it leaves my skin looking fresh, not completely matte, but definitely not oily. I don't apply a powder on top. I do however use Smashbox's concealer stick for acne scars and under eyes as this is a medium to sheer coverage. If you have access to a store, and you're not sold, have them give you a sample. They also take all returns if you're not satisfied, so you can always buy the travel or larger size and if it makes you breakout, simply return it.

You should get the radiant. I am fair/light skin and was suggested to use the translucent (in the store). I love it, but I also ordered a radiant to try since it's summer, and my skin gets a little added color to it even though I use sunscreen. Since you are already medium skin tone, I would suggest the radiant.

I have fair to medium skin, depending on the time of year (tan vs. not) and I use radiant for majority of the year when I don't have a tan. If you naturally have medium skintone, you can easily use a medium to darker shade as this stuff blends so well that even when I tried out the darkest color, it left my skin looking like I just got back from vacation...except this product is too pricey to apply to whole body. Their version for the body works, but has sparkles in it, which makes the fake tan fake....but color is natural.

It definitely depends on your skin type. I have oily skin, and nothing can keep me matte throughout the day - it's just something I have to live with. But, this does help keep shine at bay, and makes me look less oily throughout the day than wearing nothing at all. Perhaps a couple hours of shine-free makeup?

It lasts all day! I apply the Clean Slate (Tarte) first, then the Per-fekt.

It depends on if you have oily skin or not. If you get a bit shiny throughout the day, like me, you can easily reapply this product in those spot areas and it won't cake up, etc.

it doesnt have any real mattifying effect honestly if you have oily skin. I have a friend who has combo skin...she tried it and got about 30 min worth of mattifying effects.

I don't know if it is available where you need it. However I did purchase it and it is much much smaller than a travel size of tooth paste and it is almost twenty dollars. I hope this helps.

It should be available in all free-standing Sephora stores, but online shipping is free (when ordering the full size of this product). Free returns are available too, even if the item was purchased online.
