Yes, it is an aerosol type can. It won't spill if that is what you are concerned about. But the spray is not a "wet" spray like hair spray, it is like a powder spray like my asthma inhaler. I hope you can understand what I mean by that. It is not a typical "aerosol" spray. You may want to contact the mfg. for more info if you are concerned about taking the product into other countries and its chemical properties, because that I cannot advise you about. I hope I helped you out with my answer. :)

This is an aerosol. LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE- you cannot speed up the shipping process because this product cannot travel by air. I made the mistake of paying for 2 day shipping and it was sent to me by UPS Ground. Luckily after speaking to someone at Sephora I was reimbursed for the difference in shipping price.

Yes it is aerosol and it is a very sensitive can. I don't recommend for travelling as the air pressure on the plane will make the gas leak and make it not usable. I would recommend the dry powder from Oscar Biondi for travelling.

I've been using the same bottle for the past few months and while I've not counted how many times I've used it, I suggest that a little goes a long way and if you use it when you need it, maybe once a week, you'll be more than satisfied.

hmm. i think it depends how much you use. some people use the stuff very sparingly, others use a heavy hand. it also depends if you use it on the underside of your hair (flip your head over to spray). just spraying on top, basically, you could get about a dozen uses out of it. maybe up to 15 uses.i think. if you use it underneath too, then probably more like 8 uses. beware the scent though. It completely covers any other scent you may use.

You'll get a good number of uses if you don't abuse it, but not nearly as many as a powder. If you used it twice a week, I'd say it'd last for about 3 months. It's really going to depend on your hair/scalp.

Is this product also used on black hair?
I am a black lady that uses the shampoo, conditoner, holding spray, cream for every day. Sometimes my hair is very dry. What type of Ojon products do you suggest for dryness. And the paste(which is really GREAT before washing) but was interested in The Rub Out. I love the products I use it makes your hair so full and appears to have lots of body.

This particular product dries to a white powder (I just sprayed it on my arm to be sure) but a lot of brushing out makes it disappear for the most part. I have fine, dark brown hair, but I'm white. Honestly I wouldn't recommend it for African-American hair, for fear it would add a white sheen. Plus the smell is just plain awful.... it's indian curry plus mint. There's no other way to describe it! No perfume or pleasantness at all.

My hair is relaxed, and I used the Ojon Rub Out Cleanser between washings. I can't tell you how it will work for dry hair because my hair tends to get oily, but I can tell you that it works great on Black hair. However, if you decide to purchase it make sure you get the product in the squeezable bottle. The spray nozzle gets clogged easily. Many people have had this problem, even when they followed the directions on the can that are supposed to prevent clogging. I was only able to use mine once; I've got a full can of product that I can't use! I hope this helped to answer some of your questions!

I have black (dyed) hair and I use Rub-Out all the time! You just have to make sure you shake the can A LOT and hold it about 8-10 inches from your head or you may get this white powdery mist all over your hair. As for dryness, I would say that the Conditioning Volumizing Foam and the Revitalizing Mist are great. Both are conditioning but super light and won't weigh your hair down

It actually may exaggerate dandruff b/c you're essentially spraying white powder onto your scalp and it absorbs the oil (which are lubricating your scalp so the cell turnover isn't as noticable). Sephora used to sell a dry conditioner that worked well for those with dandruff, thich coarse hair, or curls.

YES! That's the beauty of this product! I ran out of it...bought a new bottle for a recent trip. It takes me an hour to wash/blow dry/style my hair and I didn't want to have to wash it on this trip. I was on my 6th day and used this and my girlfriend kept saying "what do you do to get your hair so beautiful?" I couldn't help but tell her it was so dirty!! But told her about this product. I didn't wash my hair for 2 more days and kept using this until one day I worked out...then just had to wash it!! It's one of the best products I have found for my hair. Good luck!

Not sure how to fix the can, but I'd go back to Sephora and get a replacement. They are generally very helpful about things like that. Also I've had about 5 different cans of this product in the past and never had this problem. So hopefully with a new can you won't have this problem again.

When I first started using I had huge issues with clogging. Sephora will let you exchange the clog bottle. The best thing to do is continuously shake the bottle before and during use to guarantee it won't clog in the first place. Shake, shake and shake some more.

Can you tell where the clog is? A straight pen into the sprayer works good on hairspray or gel products. Mine has never clogged, hope you get it working! Or exchange it!

I have returned 3 cans of this product to Sephora and they are aware of the issue. They will exchange the product for you for a new can. Ojon is also aware of the issue although I am unsure of what they are doing about since the product itself is amazing!

Question
leaves residue?
I have light blonde hair, and when I use this product I can actually see it on my hair! It leaves a white residue and makes my hair look dull. I'm sure people with dark hair would see this even more? I must be doing something wrong. Any advice?

It is a rub-out cleanser so after you spray it in your hair, take your hands and use your fingers to massage it through your hair/scalp; it blends in a lot better and you don't need a lot of the product to see results. I have blonde highlights with fine hair and haven't had a problem.

You should try using your hairdryer to go all over your hair for a minute or two once the project completely dries. Then brush out your hair. I have blonde hair too and this works for me. Maybe try using a little less of the product next time as well.

I have blonde hair too...I have not noticed a residue. Perhaps you are spraying too closely to your hair?? You should be holding your hair out and spraying from a distance. I also flip my head upside down and spray it that way too. I've used it 3 days in a row and not washed my hair for 6 to 8 days and gotten tons of compliments on my hair still...amazes me!! Try that and see if there's a difference. Good luck!

I have very dark hair (most would describe as 'black') and it does that to me sometimes too...I just have to rub it in more and sometimes I go over it with a brush. Also, make sure you're not using too much and follow the directions on the bottle (as far as holding it away from your hair). Hope that helps :)

i see it on my dark hair sometimes too - it's just if it gets too close to your hair i think - i just wait until it dries a bit, like about a minute, then rub it into my scalp - the powdery stuff i think is what actually pulls the oil out of your hair so if you try to rub it in while still kinda wet it wont have the same effect.

Try holding the can farther away from your hair. You may be spraying it too close and that is what is causing the build up. Hope this helps!

Question
Dry Shampoo Users: Which Do You Like Best?
I've tried the travel-size versions of Oscar Blandi (nice scent but can be messy to use) and Ojan (worked but can constantly clogs up).

Before I purchase a full-size dry shampoo, I'd like your opinions.

Which dry shampoos have you tried? What were their pros and cons? Which one would you purchase again?

Thanks for your input!

Stay away from any n a spray can. I have tried a few and the sprayer always stops working after one or two uses leaving the majority of the product left inside.

You need to listen to the disclaimer about fully shaking the can! It seriously makes a difference. I didnt shake much when I had my first can and I ruined that bottle trying to unclog it. Since there is like rice powder and stuff in the formula you need to keep constantly shaking between short sprays. I spray a couple quick sprays and shake for a few seconds then repeat. New cans moving forward had zero problems!! :)

I'm assuming you have dry hair so are looking for a good moisturizing shampoo? I've really done some good research and testing and have found Moroccan Oil Shampoo, Creme Rinse and then their Hydrating Styling Creme and/or Oil to be a great combo. I also go back to Pureology which has a great Shampoo & Creme rinse. Good luck!

I have tried this and the Batiste original and much prefer Batiste. It is much cheaper (bought it at Ricky's NYC) and has no clogging issues. Ojon is useless due to clogging, imo. And yes, I followed the directions!

I have enjoyed Ojon and Tigi so far. I've not yet experienced clogs with either. While I love the incense like smell of Ojon, I like that the Tigi is softer smelling, contains 2 oz. more and is less expensive. I get more volume & stiffness from the Ojon.

cans always clog. you have to shake it for about 60 seconds to prevent that from happening every time you use it. the non-aersol kind is far superior and it lasts longer since you can control how much you use. i suggest only putting the powder at your roots, but try not to get it on your scalp.

Question
How can I unclog my Ojon Rub-Out Shampoo
This product is very expensive and I love it, but half way through the product it has clogged up and I can't find a way to unclog it. Any suggestions. I can't just afford to throw this bottle away and buy another one.

first, never buy a canned aerosol dry shampoo again. and if you get a new bottle of this stuff you need to follow the directions and shake it for 60 seconds before you use it and during use. to unclog the can: try to use a needle to remove any solids from the nozzle. run hot water over the nozzle as well to get any solids loose. then shake the heck out of it and turn the can totally upside down and press it in small bursts. that will help clear the nozzle as well. good luck!

I've had to exchange my bottles of this twice. Just go to Sephora and exchange it. I even went without a receipt and they were happy to help. If it happens again, have a consultant recommend another brand of dry shampoo. I totally understand about wanting your money's worth!

Take it into your local sephora.

Shake it..wait..shake it some more.
It must be thoroughly mixed-or it will clog.

I have the same problem. When it happens and I know that the can is still almost full, I call customer service. I return the clogged can and they send me new can. Sephora takes great care of it's customers. I still hate it when it happens because if I can't use it when I need it........I will be late for where ever I'm going because I'll have to wash my hair.
