The product is not oil free, but I have oily skin and I find that this adds no extra oil to my skin. It gives my skin enough moisture without being too heavy that it seems to help curb my skin's oil production.

If it is oil-free, I haven't noticed that it says that any where on the product. I will say it is very light and non-greasy unlike some of the other primers, but I wouldn't guarantee that it is oil-free.

Question
For fair skin?
I have super fair skin and I'm a little scared that this would look fake and pinkish on me because of it. Has anyone else with really fair skin tried "That Gal"? How does it look on really fair skin?
Also, I wear bareminerals foundation and mineral veil - does the "glowyness" that this imparts still show after putting on mineral foundation?

Thanks!

This is great for fair skin! I live in Florida and I'm in the marching band at my high school. I applied my make up for marching practice at 7 am with "That Gal" underneath. I use BareMinerals, which is fantastic! This lasts all day and never makes me oily or turns my skin pink.

In the winter my skin gets very light and I was apprehensive too. It will not look to pink if you put on a thin layer. It leaves you looking dewy and fresh. I also us Bare Minerals foundation and veil and you can still see it if you put on a normal amount. If you wear a lot of it you will probably not be able to see it.

I'm a redhead so I feel you on the fair skin issue, it's not a problem. It's really soothing to the skin so if you have slight redness in your undertones as I do, it helps to even that out and leave skin looking radiant and youthful. I'm not a fan of the mineral foundation though, I think it can look cakey and even in young skin it seems to settle into the lines so unless you have particularly oily skin you may want to think about a liquid or cream foundation as an alternative.

I have very fair skin. I have found that this product is about how much you use. I don't want a really shimmery look, so I apply enough to cover my skin and I don't look shimmery. When I want more shimmer, I apply it under my foundation, apply foundation, then I apply a little more on top of my foundation.

That Gal doesn't control oil or fill-in lines/pores. It adds a smooth finish, and, if you're pale, a flush of color. It has a very light mousse-gel consistency that probably is most complimentary to very sheer foundations, like Some Kinda Gorgeous. I definitely need to set with powder when using That Gal, but I don't need powder with Dr. Feelgood.

Yes you can use them together because they do two different things. That Gal is a brightening primer. You apply it all over your complexion prior to applying makeup. It will make your makeup stay on longer and look brighter throughout the day. If you tend to be oily then apply Dr. Feel Good on your T zone after you apply your makeup.

answer 2
I have used both of these primers (Laura M and That Gal) and I prefer "That Gal." I found that LM primer was a little too dewy. LM didn't absorb enough in my opinion (I have combination skin), and my face wouldn't stay matte. "That Gal" goes on smoothly and is absorbed right away. It leaves you ready to go on the spot or primed for more makeup.

answer 3
I'm a huge fan of LM primer with the exception of the wetness of it and the 'drying' time, but it's a good product nonetheless. However, I tossed my LM when I started using Benefit "That Gal." The ever-so-subtle sheen from "That Gal" is just what I needed to give my skin not only a poreless look, but a well-rested, poreless, no drying time, the kids aren't late for school look. But seriously, it can even be used alone, without foundation on days when you want a fab 'out the door quick' look.

answer 4
To be honest, no it does not compare to LM's primer. It runs circles around it. I own both, I like both but I love one that being 'That Gal'. The products all though both primers are completely different as 'That Gal' not only primes the face for foundation but brightens your face and imparts a healthy glow as well. LM does not do that but only primes.

Whats more is you don't even need foundation if you are in a hurry or just lazing about for the day. A little 'That Gal' will give you a little extra something that people can't put their finger on.

Very healthy looking and a miracle worker for the tired gal who needs a little perk, just smooth over foundation during the day/evening for an instant awake/healthy glow.

That Gal is a brightening primer. It not only will keep your makeup on all day but it will take whatever foundation you wear and brighten it and keep it looking fresh all day! You can also wear That Gal on its own if you don’t like to wear foundation but just want a little perk me up!

Question
Is this comparable to the Smashbox Primer?
Is this as smoothing and silky as the Smashbox Primer? I really love that primer as it doesn't let my subtle redness in my cheeks show through my foundation and it lets my foundation go on perfectly, but I would like a brightening primer such as this one. So how is it? Any review, thoughts or opinions are greatly appreciated :D

I'm in love with this product, but just today bought Smashbox primer to wear under foundation on days that I use it. I wear this either alone on naked skin or over my foundation to add a bit of glow-yness.

My skin is really dry in areas, so maybe that's why I don't think this is that great of a primer. I wish they didn't call it a primer actually, to me it's just more of a boost your complexion product.

It is great for evening slight redness. It is more sheer than Smashbox so I wouldn't say it leaves the same "silky finish," it really soaks into the skin, a more natural texture. The Raspberry and Chamomile extract are really soothing to your skin so it feels refreshing and it brightens!

The Benefit Cosmetics "That Gal" Brightening Face Primer glides on effortlessly and will instantly brighten dull skin. I use this under my makeup but also to highlight my cheek bones after I apply my makeup! I even use this right underneath my eye to brighten up the dark circles! This does not contain any silicone fillers so can be used on top of makeup as well.

The point of difference with the Smashbox ingredients is that it will fill in fine lines and pores and are packed with great vitamins and antioxidants in the formulation.

Question
How long can this product last?
"That Gal" Brightening Face Primer

How long does this product last once I open it? Also, how long does this product last if I do not open the primer to use right now? (I would probably buy this product and wait for 4-6 months before using this for personal reasons).

Thank you!

The amount of product in this bottle is very minimal. You only get .37oz of product, and I personally go through a bottle every 2-3 weeks when used daily.

To use less product, make sure you apply a generous amount of face cream or lotion before applying the primer. This will prevent the product from sinking into pores and, in turn, using more product.

If you use a lot, it will last you a month. The Benefit people recommend you putting a bit on the back of your hand and using your fingers to grab a bit at a time and rub it on your face that way. I used to twist it and dab on each section of my face, which I guess explains why it didn't last a long time.

As for without opening it, I think you'll be fine for 4-6 months. I would ask at the store for any amount of time longer than that.

I know people have been really worried about this kind of thing. Generally 6mths to a year is a good guideline if you take good care of your cosmetics. (except for eye stuff). If your cosmetics dont go through temp changes (like leaving it in the car) and you keep your stuff really sanitary and dont share, it can last a while. I keep my stuff in really good shape and have had things for years. You can tell when it goes bad.
