The product is not oil free, but I have oily skin and I find that this adds no extra oil to my skin. It gives my skin enough moisture without being too heavy that it seems to help curb my skin's oil production.

If it is oil-free, I haven't noticed that it says that any where on the product. I will say it is very light and non-greasy unlike some of the other primers, but I wouldn't guarantee that it is oil-free.

Question
For fair skin?
I have super fair skin and I'm a little scared that this would look fake and pinkish on me because of it. Has anyone else with really fair skin tried "That Gal"? How does it look on really fair skin?
Also, I wear bareminerals foundation and mineral veil - does the "glowyness" that this imparts still show after putting on mineral foundation?

Thanks!

This is great for fair skin! I live in Florida and I'm in the marching band at my high school. I applied my make up for marching practice at 7 am with "That Gal" underneath. I use BareMinerals, which is fantastic! This lasts all day and never makes me oily or turns my skin pink.

I have fair skin and it doesn't look pinkish at all. I also use bare minerals and I don't feel like it does anything to help my make-up go on smoother or stay on longer. I would recommend something from bare minerals.

In the winter my skin gets very light and I was apprehensive too. It will not look to pink if you put on a thin layer. It leaves you looking dewy and fresh. I also us Bare Minerals foundation and veil and you can still see it if you put on a normal amount. If you wear a lot of it you will probably not be able to see it.

I'm a redhead so I feel you on the fair skin issue, it's not a problem. It's really soothing to the skin so if you have slight redness in your undertones as I do, it helps to even that out and leave skin looking radiant and youthful. I'm not a fan of the mineral foundation though, I think it can look cakey and even in young skin it seems to settle into the lines so unless you have particularly oily skin you may want to think about a liquid or cream foundation as an alternative.

I have very fair skin. I have found that this product is about how much you use. I don't want a really shimmery look, so I apply enough to cover my skin and I don't look shimmery. When I want more shimmer, I apply it under my foundation, apply foundation, then I apply a little more on top of my foundation.

I think you would be fine with this product. The pink isn't too dark & the shimmer is subtle. I am quite fair myself and really like the product. You only need a small amount.

answer 3
While I wouldn't say that it's creamy, it definitely feels more like a light-weight moisturizer as opposed to gel-based. It's light so it gives sheer coverage (really not meant to "hide" anything, if you're looking to cover blemishes) Since it's ultimately a primer, it's not supposed to be too thick. I find that the product definitely sinks into the skin quickly, it does not sit on top. I really recommend this product! :)

this has more of a moisturizer feel to it. to me it feels as if it absorbs into the skin but it also remains on top of your skin so that the pinky glow remains. you can use this by itself for that reason alone... however, i recommend using it under face powders such as hula, 10 and sunflower or under moon beam & high beam as well, as they last much longer when applied on top of "that gal".

How does work when covering up redness?
I have fair skin with pinky red undertones. Sometimes I can have mild redness. I have tried green primers, but they can be so hard to blend into my skin. I would love to know how (or even if) this product helps camoflauge redness. Thanks for the help!

I'm your girl...I'm a redhead with all those issues! I wear this daily mixed with a tinted foundation (with spf of course). I let it sit for a minute with I conceal under my eyes and any other spot I want to hide then I follow with Benefit's Some Kind-A-Gorgeous foundation and translucent powder. I've tried a million other solutions and even work on occasion as a freelance makeup artist and this is by far the best match/solution I've found. Hope that helps!

I am very pale and I have a lot of pink undertones. I got this without even realizing it minimized pink undertones. I usually have pink blotchy skin in the morning after my shower....so I put this on for the primer and let it set for a minute or two....I noticed my pink tones were going away! Then I re-read the box and saw that it was something the primer did. It doesn't really help with redness from blemishes though.

I didn't like this as a primer. I'd suggest using the porefessional or drfeelgood as primers from Benefit. I do like ThatGal as just a light makeup look, so I use it in lieu of foundation.

I find that it does! You might also want to look into the POREfessional as well (haven't tried, but hear great things). This brightens incredibly and wakes dull skin up instantly. Foundation goes on smooth after application, and I love it! (Super biased here, been loyal for about a year - but it's worth a try).

answer 6
Put some on your finger and coat it lightly on your face; or, mix a little with your liquid foundation; or dab some on as a highlighter. It all depends on what you want to use it for, how subtle you want it, and likely your age. I think it's a nice product - I vary it depending on what makeup I am doing - going to work vs going out, like that. It is not overwhelming or sparkly and such by any means so I would say give it a try!

answer 7
Well, primers are generally an all-over product to prep the skin for foundation. There are many kinds used for different effects- However, the use of this one may really depend on your skin type and your intended effect. If you have oily skin, I actually may not recommend this one at all; if you want the dewy look on cheekbones, perhaps apply only on that area, then a different primer on nose, chin, forehead, etc. It's not super shimmery but may produce a dewy effect more readily than other primers, so if you want to extend the life of a shine free face, try a different product.

I use this under my BareMinerals every day. It doesn't tint your face, it's just sheer enough to reflect light when used under your foundation. It is invisible, yet it reflects light to make your skin look brighter. Just make sure you let this set before applying powder over it.
