Does it shed?

Alot of people in the reviews were saying that this brush sheds. So, I was wondering if it sheds. If it does, then how much? Does it stop shedding after you "break it in"? Thanks :)

I have never had any problems with my brush shedding. It's one of the better quality brushes I have in my collection.

I've used mine daily for a little over two weeks and it has shed each time. The frist 2 days were the heaviest shedding, but since then only 1-3 bristles per use. I'm hoping it stops eventually.

how to apply with bareminerals foundation

I went to a Sephora store and the representative said this is a great brush to apply my bareminerals foundation. The brushes that I got w/my starter kit are too harsh on my skin. Anway, I forgot to ask her how to apply the foundation using this brush. Do you apply it like you do with a regular bareminerals brush (swirl, tap, and then buff)? Thank you.

I'm not a fan of the bare minerals broom, I mean brush. The #43 brush would be a great choice and you may find that you don't need to 'tap' as much.

This brush is actually firmer than the kabuki brush from the Bare Minerals. Also the BM brush has a more domed top while this particular brush has a flat top. Theoretically, you would apply the makeup using the same technique, but I would advise against this particular brush for that purpose and either look at the MAC brushes or CoverFX also has some nice brushes as well.

Yes. Just swirl and tap in the lid of the product like you would with the regular brush, and then buff it on. This is a great brush for BE powder, and it is a lot more silky than their brush. The reason the BE brush can be a little more rough is because the bristles are porous and specifically designed to pick up and hold the powder for buffing, but this brush feels better on the face.

I don't know about the Stila brush, but I do know that this brush is great for liquid foundation. I'd get this one if it's cheaper. It works great for liquid, powder or cream foundation!

This brush is not good for liquid foundation because it has natural bristles. If you use it for liquid foundation, it will absorb the product and it won't give a good finish. Sephora doesn't have a flat top synthetic bristle brush right now, but you can find it other places. This brush is ideal for powder products.

I use the Sephora brush for foundation and it works beautifully. It's cheaper than the Stila, I think, so I'd go for this one because it does a great job.

M.A.C #180 Brush:

I LOVE the M.A.C #180 and I used it for liquid foundation, but I lost it while traveling. I went to go replace it but I found out it was discontinued. I liked it because you could buff on your foundation, not stipple it. Is this brush like the #180 brush? If its not, does anyone know a brush similar to the #180? Thank you so much!

This brush is not like the mac 180. Sigma F80 is a better match, but you can only order it online.

The Sephora Pro contour blush/bronzer brush works pretty well for buffing liquid foundation into the skin. Another good option is this brush:

No, it does not come with a cap. I would recommend against purchasing it, because it is cheaply made and sheds a lot.
