I dont use another cleanser after this product, if anything, I use a mild cleanser right before this product if I have a lot of makeup on so that this cleanser works even better. I would def recommend putting on moisturizer right after using this product to prevent over-drying.

Nope, you don't have to follow this with another cleansing product. I think it just says that go encourage more product use! But I do follow up with moisturizer on my face and an acne treatments lotion or cream when & where necessary.

I don't think you need to pair it with another cleanser, although I prefer to use something to take off my makeup and to use around the eye area before I use this scrub.

I personally don't feel the need to use another cleanser at all. I use makeup remover or a face wipe beforehand then I use PTR buffing beads. Afterwards, I use a toner and then top it off with my moisturizer

Question
Salicylic acid
I have used other cleansers in the past that contain salicylic acid, and ended up with bleached pillowcases because I used the cleansers at night. Does this product cause bleaching on fabrics, or will it wash off completely and save me from buying new sheets again?

It hasn’t bleached anything of mine, and I use it at night as well. Maybe if you were using a spot treatment, that was why?

Benzoyl peroxide bleaches your sheets and towels it's even bleached my clothes if i put a shirt on over it while it's still wet. Salicylic acid does not bleach sheets or towels so there was probably benzoyl peroxide in your cleanser or something else you used afterwards. Good luck!

Bleaching comes from the benzoyl peroxide which often accompanies salicylic acid.

I have used a lot of washes containing salicylic acid and I have yet to encounter that problem so I'm not quite sure if that has to do with how I sleep on my pillow. So far I haven't noticed any residue or bleaching on my pillowcases.

answer 3
They’re round, but they’re very small, so it does feel a little rough on your skin if you massage too hard and for too long. I use the face & body wash every day in the shower. My skin feels renewed after!
The body wash’s buffing beads are bigger though, so it’s not quite as harsh on the skin.

Question
blackhead
I'm new to the product line. Have been in search for a cleanser that will get rid of blackheads especially, as well as cleanse my combination skin (oily nose, dry to normal on the rest of the face with occasional breakout & redness on the cheeks). Would this cleanser rid of and prevent blackheads? or 3% glycolic acid wash would be a better choice? please help. Thanks :)

This stuff was much too gentle to do much of anything for my blemishes. It didn't effect my blackheads at all. However, the 2% beta hydroxy wash that Peter Thomas Roth makes for acne did the trick, but it was super strong on me, so I recommend using it sparingly and with caution.

This definitely helped me, but what I use for blackheads especially, is the acne spot treatment from the same line. I had a lot on my nose and some on my cheeks before I used these products. I put it all over the areas before I go bed, and in the morning, they’re basically gone. I do that every few days, and you can barely notice them anymore! I think the spot treatment works so well - on blackheads, or any pimple!

I use this in the am, and a 3% glycolic wash in the pm.
I follow with salicylic lotion for day, and anti-aging products at night.

You need a product with urea in it. Make sure it's the second or third ingredient. Use daily. You'll see results within a couple weeks.

I also have keratosis pilaris and scrubbing is not recommended. I would use a lactic acid based lotion to moisturize and thin the skin so that the hairs can come out.

I have the same problem (keratosis pilaris), but I have purchased DermaDoctor's KP Duty for my kp. You get a huge tub for the same price, and KP Duty is specifically formalated to breakdown the bumps more so than this product. I've been using KP Duty 2-3 times a week and have noticed a difference! My dermatologist also prescribed "Differin" for my kp, it works wonderfully, but it is an expensive prescription for me. Good Luck!

you should try TEND SKIN product for your ingrown hairs, and bumps. I swim everyday and my skin used to look like that before using tend skin. sephora carries the $20 one, which has last me 1 year with weekly use.

Question
Would this be too much for me?
I am currently using the PTR acne clearing gel as well the glycolic acid hydrating gel (i rotate this with the acne clearing gel). I use these at night and in the morning I use the Gentle Complexion Pads because they are gentle and have less BHA than the clearing gel. I just purchased the PTR 2% BHA acne cleanser for night time too. I have not started using it but will start next week. Can I add this into my regimen 2-3 times a week as my exfoliator? Can anyone recommend this to me?

Here is my routine again:
AM - purity made simple cleanser, gentle comp. pads, moisturizer (hope in a jar), sunblock & makeup

PM - purity made simple cleanser, acne clearing gel, (every other night glycolic acid hydrator on top), and moisturizer

Thanks, I appreciate it!

This is a really gentle exfoliator. I haven't had any peeling or over-drying, and after use, skin actually feels moistruized. The ingredients are powerful but easy on sensitive skin (like mine). I think it'd actually be a great choice for you since the exfoliation beads are not jagged and it never feels like you've just sand-papered your skin off. It's a lovely wash, really. Good luck! :)

From my experience with PTR products I think it is too much. Not knowing what your skin type is for sure, I am guessing you will overdry your skin. If you are naturally oily, overdrying will make it worse. I have the pads, gel and Blemish Buffing beads. I can use the gel once a day, the buffing beads daily but the pads only occasionally. The pads work for sure but in combination with the others...way too drying.

The main difference between the two scrubs are the active ingredients. The Blemish Buffing Beads For Face and Body has glycolic and salicylic acid to help prevent and correct acne prone skin while the Botanical Buffing Beads has Goji Berry and Acai extracts, both potent source of antioxidants. We hope this answers your question!
