Questions & Answers for Clinique Super Rescue Antioxidant Night Moisturizer

Question
Is this product noncomedegenic?
I have been using a sample of this and I love it so much. However, I had two pimples pop up a week after using it. It may not be related, but Clinique's website and Sephora's page do not specify if it clogs pores or not. I would assume not, but anyone who knows would be much appreciated!!! Thanks.

Paula Begoun says the following in her review: "Super Rescue is well suited for dry combination skin as claimed, but it’s too emollient for use on oily or breakout-prone areas. It is an outstanding blend of water, silicone, thickeners, shea butter, fatty acids, glycerin, antioxidants, cell-communicating ingredients, and skin-identical ingredients. In short, this fragrance-free moisturizer takes advantage of what solid research has shown is necessary to create a truly state-of-the-art moisturizer. "

I had the same question so I clicked on the "live chat" option on Clinique's website, and this is what I was told (I asked about this moisturizer and the dramatically different moisturizing gel):
"They are both non-acnegenic which means they have been tested extensively to show that they do not clog pores or cause breakout. This test is conducted on human volunteers who have a propensity for breakouts. We do not perform comedogenicity testing since the use of animals is part of the testing protocol."
Hope that helps!

I don't know but after two days I woke up with a rash on my face. Most of Clinique's products are oil free. Maybe the dry/combination and dry/very dry versions are not. Too many heavy oils can definitely clog the pores.

I think the purpose of this product is mostly antioxidanting not antiaging. It does prevent aging but it's not the main goal. I read in an article that every woman after 20s should have a proper antioxidant night moisturizer to help skin fight everyday pollution. I think such cream is a must for young woman.

According to the ingredient list, this product contains no glycolic acid (a type of alpha hydroxy acid, aka AHA). However, in the bottom 1/3 of the ingredient list is Isodecyl Salicylate (aka salicylic acid, which is a beta hydroxy acid or BHA)

If you like it and want to wear it during the day, you absolutely can, but since it has no SPF you should wear some sunscreen with it to keep your skin protected.

you could if you wanted too but it is designed for over night becacuse of the antioxidants, there is 8 of them packed into this cream. if used during the day they are less effective, your skin is more receptive to antioxidants over night.

answer 3
After exhausting myself looking at tons of research recently about skincare products & the "how to's" of using them, I found the basic universal answer all around is that the only difference between a "day" moisturizer and a "night" moisturizer is sunscreen (although marketing would have you believe otherwise). I happen to LOVE this product for my skin. If you like the moisturizer you are using and it is working for your skin type, it can be used anytime of day. Just remember not to overload your skin with too many products at one time - the fewer products, the better. Know your skin type, keep it simple & ALWAYS wear sunscreen during the day either via your moisturizer, powder or foundation. Hope that helps!

Yes, as long as you use sunscreen. I do.. but wait 20n minutes to let sunscreen soak in (apply first) then this wherever you really need the extra moisture--let it absorb a bit and then go on with foundation, etc. My derm gave me the go ahead to use a bit around the eyes (crowe's feet) to soften them, as eye creams just weren't doing the trick.

No it shouldn't affect your moisturizer. I use the turnaround concentrate last and it honestly brightened my complexion, it looks lighter and smoother. But I wouldn't do without the night moisturizer for sure.

Yes, the combo/oily skin formula is oil-free. I have extremely oily skin and was worried about it as well since the box or package doesn't say "oil-free". I spoke with a Clinique representative via their online chat and she assured me that the combo/oily formula was oil-free.

you do not need your dramatically different before this cream. skip it and just apply your super antioxidant right after your toner. if you are super dry you could layer them but with the three skin types available in this night cream you shouldn't have too

Use the toner before the lotion. If you need to use an acne product like bha or aha or benzyl peroxide you would use first use the toner, acne product then lastly the lotion.

I wouldn't use this moisturizer on top of the 3 step. You only need one lotion at a time. I prefer the super rescue antioxidant night moisturizer in the evening and then another moisturizer for the day time.
