How does this dry?

The product dries very well and it doesn't dry "rock hard". It's all dependent on how thick or thin you apply the mask. It certainly dries semi hard because when you wash it off it takes a bit of warm water to get it off but it certainly doesn't require scrubbing to get it off.

Doesnt crack like most sulfur masks do. However, It does dry tight. Since its only a 5 to 10 min mask its not too bad and the end results are amazing :)

Yes, this mask cracks a bit, but it doesn't start peeling and falling off your face every which way. It also hardens quickly (in less than five minutes).

Question
Would this abolish my cystic Acne?
I am 34 years old w/ a homonal imbalance that leaves me with combination skin, everyday outbreaks, chronic blackheads, and occassional cystic blemishes. I am currently using the Bliss weekly enzymatic mask, which is helping. Would this ddf sulfur mask be the best for controlling my outbreaks?

This product will likely help clear up some of your blackheads and smaller blemishes but may not do a whole lot for cystic acne. When dealing with cystic acne, it is not a bad idea to see a dermatologist if you are able to. With the big, red, angry inflammatory lesions, antibiotics (topical or oral) are generally helpful. If it is hormonal (with your cycle, around your jawline is common), sometimes being on a birth control pill is helpful. There are lots of good options out there to fight acne. Some from Sephora and some from the medical community. This is a great adjunct product to help dry up excess oil and unclog pores, but cystic acne is in a league of its own and may need extra medical ammunition to abolish.

I am 37 with the same issues and it has really helped me. I also use the Benzoyl lotion from DDF. I use Ole Henriksen's On the Go Cleanser, The Walnut Scrub and the Blue/Blackberry Enzyme Mask. But, I really think it's the DDF Mask that has helped rthe most. When I started using it, I saw a difference right away. I hope it works for you too. :-)

This product is really good. Try using it as a spot treatment on problem areas at night when you sleep (stays put on your face and doesn't rub off onto pillows). This product doesn't irritate like other products, but it's really effective in balancing the area without making it worse. I have random types of face blemishes all the time and this product works well on old ones, new ones and etc.

Question
Is there an expiration date and/or month indicator?
Most packages have a little sign on the back that says how many months a product is good after being opened. Some products even have an expiration date.

I need to know, because I sortof intend to use this more as a spot treatment, rather than a mask, so it will take me a while to get through it.

Yes, there is an expiry date on the bottom of the jar (not sure if it's also on the packaging as I threw it out already). I bought it a couple weeks ago and the expiry date on mine is for June of 2012. If you're spot treating, you might want to see if you can get a smaller container (or maybe ask them to open the box and see if you can get a date that would meet your needs).

I don't know about an expiration date, but I've had mine for 2 years now and it still works great! As I got to the bottom of the container, it started to dry out, and I was worried it wouldn't be useable, but I just added a little bit of water to soften it and it works just the same!

I'm not sure about an actual expiration date, but it does dry up after awhile. I would say it doesn't last more than a month or so. There is a travel kit that has a small pot of it if you are not planning on using it frequently - all of the products are great!

try removing the product with a washcloth instead of putting water all over your face. once most of it is removed you can rinse your skin. also try to leave a good border around your eyes without any product.

I began to notice a difference within days. I've been using my mask as an overnight spot treatment for almost three weeks (and weekly use as a mask) and my face has almost entirely cleared up. That hadn't been the case for YEARS, ever since my face had suffered a quarter-life crisis and gone rogue on me. I've never had severe acne, but in the time leading up to me buying the DDF Sulfur Therapeutic Mask, my trouble spots (what I thought were acne scarring) had become inflamed and I had begun to break out in spots I had never had to deal with before (on top of having dry patches).

Make sure you're using a moisturizer with this. I've been using Clinique's Moisture Surge as the counterpart to my DDF treatment.

It would be fine to use as a mask in the morning. If you wash it off, definitely go for it!

However, if you intend to leave it on for a while (when you might visible to others), It does leave a whitish, cakey residue when it dries and soaks in, so I'm not sure if that would be the best use. Maybe if you used a very thin layer you could make it blend in, but I think that thin of a layer might make it less effective.

My favorite way to use this as a spot treatment at night. You might be able to combine this with your other treatment if you want to try that, but otherwise... don't go out with this on.

I've been using this product for 3 weeks and I use it as a thin mask twice a week (I make sure to either steam my face or use a hot washcloth to open my pores then apply the mask). As of now, I can see a definite reduction in acne, pores are smaller and blackheads are getting there (they are stubborn) and my face is about 1/2 as oily as it usually is. As with all masks, please make to to use a moisturizer afterwards as it makes a big difference!!!!!!!

I've been noticing results within two uses. It's not miraculously making things dissappear over night, but I can definately notice it working. I dab a little onto areas that need it, let it dry and then go to bed with it on. It's has been reducing swelling and healing healing time of blemishes, and keeps under the skin blemishes from surfacing. Hope that helps.

This would help with the parts of your face that get oilier as the day goes on. It would probably help with your whiteheads a bit, but you might be better off with some type of gentle exfoliatior- something with glycolic, or you could try the DDF microdermabrasion system (you can buy the unit at the drugstore for cheaper, and then buy the refill here to get the polishing crystals). DDF is great, it's hard to go wrong with their products.

My skin is similar - excessive oil, breakouts and large pores - and though I've only used this twice since I bought it a week ago, I am impressed so far. Pores seem to shrink, it clears up small spots and whiteheads almost immediately, and for larger, cystic pimples, it definitely seems to shrink them and speed them along their way. I'd recommend it.

Yes, it's got a bit of a smell but it's not that powerful that you'd knock over the person next to you. My fiancé doesn't even notice when I take it off so that's a good sign. It also has a bit of a minty smell, I think with the eucalyptus, so that neutralizes the smell a bit too. Always use it at night, the smell will be gone by morning.
