Will this iron cause damage to chemically relaxed hair?
I am african american with chemically relaxed hair, I've use the CHI and Paul Brown flat irons and they work very well. I mainly use flat irons to smooth the cuticle and to make my hair silky. I've heard about this flat iron and all of the reviews make it seem like the GHD is less damaging than other flat irons...so now I'm ready to ditch the CHI if this flat iron is better but from the reviews I cannot tell if this flat iron has been used on african american hair...does anyone know if it works on my type of hair with less damage than other flat irons?

on ghd IV styler
I use on my roots that I have grown out for five months (no longer chemically straighten) but I still have about 9 inches of relaxed hair. It looks as though I have chemically straighened my roots (even though I have not). I have had less breakage and my hair is nice and silky. Any amount of intense heat will do some damage to any hair, but I find the ghd to be a lot more kind to my hair on both natural and relaxed textures.

I am caucasian but have very coarse curly hair that is color treated and my
daughter has straight limp hair that is damaged from other straighteners.
This styler does it all and gives the hair a beautiful sheen. It straightens or
curls my hair as well as hers which never holds a curl. It was expensive but the quality is exceptional and it has an extra long cord which works great.
