I had the same problem (and same skin type)-- this is the only cleanser that has worked for me. The Ren cleansing milk paired with the Hydra Calm day cream put my skin back in balance within 48 hours.

I started using this face wash because every other product I tried caused breakouts. I still have an occasional blemish, but I believe this product actually helped stop the constant breakouts I was having with other products.

I am prone to acne as well. Even though this is creamy, milky cleanser it did not give me break outs at all. Actually this has improved my skin. Plus it's natural and natural is better for your skin...less skin irritations, like breakouts.

I have oily, sensitive skin, and I tend to get cystic acne. This didn't cause me to break out at all.

I'm not sure if you have a pre-existing acne problem. But I just finished writing a review in which I explained how this helped me get rid of a mystery breakout I suffered about a year ago. It doesn't foam so it won't leave your skin dry afterward. Drying out my skin actually worsens breakouts. I have combination skin and it's very sensitive (I have to buy "sensitive" or "baby" versions of most face products like sunscreen) but this didn't irritate my skin at all.

No - that has often happened to me too. But this product is so gentle yet balanced that my skin feels really well hydrated yet clean. The whole line of sensitive skin products ROCKS!!!!

It hasn't caused me to break out yet, but I do think it's key to gently exfoliate once a week. Whenever my skin was super-dry from acne treatments, using Suki Pure Facial Moisturizer - Nourishing under my regular moisturizer/sunscreen helped a lot. Hope you enjoy this cleanser too!

It does not cause MORE breaskouts, but it won't help the breakouts either. It really just cleanses.. that's it! If you have acne though, it might be too thick and creamy for you. It really leaves the skin moisturized...

I massage onto dry skin, I think it gives make up a chance to dissolve. Then wet hands, massage somemore and wipe off with warm damp washcloth.

I am not sure it matters which way you apply it. I personally dampen my face with a warm washcloth to open my pores. I then apply the face wash and remove it with a warm damp washcloth.

I usually dampen my skin and then apply. I really love this product, and I experienced great results last winter. My skin has been getting very irritated and flaky in the winter the past few years. Not so once I started using this!

I used to apply to wet skin, but now apply to dry skin. I think it works better when not diluted by water.

Question
Can you use this to remove eye makeup?
Is this sensitive enough to use in the eye area. I've used Philosophy Purity Made Simple for years but am trying to use more natural products and was looking for a cleanser that could remove eye makeup like the philosophy one.

No unfortunately this product does not remove eye make up. I use a separate eye make up removing oil for that. But either way I used it with other cleansers even before trying this one. I highly recommend it though! I use it with Philosophy's hope in a jar also. I use the REN night serum and my skin has never felt better and the compliments I get are endless :)

You can use this to remove eye makeup. It is not at all irritating, It is just not very effect at removing mascara. For that I would suggest petroleum jelly.

Question
Use with clarisonic?
Can this cleanser be used with the clarisonic well? A sephora consultant told me not to get this cleanser for use with the clarisonic because milk cleansers stick to the bristles of the brush and don't wash or rinse off well.

I recommend using the cleanser with the Sephora Pore Precision Silicone Pad, it's the best $5 dollars I've ever spent and is even gentler than any Clarisonic brush I've tried.

A Sephora SA explicitly told me that this would be the perfect cleanser to use iwth my Clarisonic, since I am currently using Rx acne medication. I do quickly wash the Clarisonic bristles with gentle handsoap after every use, though.

answer 3
I used this with my Clarisonic all winter last year. It may stick to the bristles a bit, but I try to clean my brush in really hot water pretty regularly, and I'm fairly good about changing out the head every few months. I will be using it again with my Clarisonic this winter because it did incredible things for my skin last winter (really eliminated the irritation). So I don't really care if it sticks to the bristles. :)

I think it's ideal to use with the clarisonic! You just have to make sure to rinse the brush head well with hot water.
