Questions & Answers for Shiseido The Makeup Dual Balancing Foundation SPF 17

Question
Packaging?
I'm guessing from the picture that this is not a pump bottle? Can anyone confirm? Also, for those with very fair to fair skin, what color worked best for you? I'd really like to try this foundation. Thanks :)

nope not a pump bottle. but i have very sensitive skin so instead of getting bacteria in it with my fingers i use a clean q-tip, and dot it on my face. And as for fair skin i use 120 but, i think 100 or 020 would work really well with really fair skin. ask a sephora rep.

Nope, it is not in a pump dispenser. The foundation pours out of the bottle and I apply it with a foundation brush and my fingers.

I have fairly light skin with a cool tone and purchased B20, it is a pretty good match, almost too light for my skintone now, but will be perfect for the winter months.

Best wishes, I think you will really love this foundation!

It's not a pump bottle. It's a glass bottle with a twist cap and you'll need to pour the foundation onto clean skin or a make up sponge. Cute bottle though just don't drop it. :)

No, it is not a pump. I would highly recommend that you go into Sephora and have an employee match your skin to a foundation. It is really worth the time!

I would recomend hitting up your local Sephora. The colors shown online dont do the product any justice. Plus someone there is always happy to make you a sample so you can try at home in different light too!

Probably you wanna try B20 or B40. One of the light beige colors if you have a light tan and have Olive skin. If you have darker skin try a shade darker. One of those colors should compliment your skin.!! or you can always go to Nordstrom and have the Shiseido ladies try it on you! :)

Question
Allergies to dye, perfume, fragrance
Do the Shiseido products for cleansing and moisturizing and for base makeup contain a lot of fragrance/perfume and/or dyes? There are very few products that I am not allergic to.

I hate to add to the confusion but after reading A I have to tell you that I have sensitive skin and broke out on Bare Minerals. The Shisedo foundation is the best I have used and I do not smell a fragrance which I am very sensitive about.

Try bare minerals. All the Shiseido products that I've used tend to contain lots of frangrance.

I'm Asian with light skin and yellow undertones and my sales associate recommended the 040. It's very natural for Asian skin. I've tried many different brands and could never find the right color and she found it in one try. It's natural and looks like your skin.

I have sensitive acne-prone skin (and reddish-blonde hair as well) and I haven't had any problems with this foundation. It covers well, and it doesn't irritate my skin at all. The best I've used so far.

Question
ingredients?
Does anyone know what the ingredients are for this foundation? I'm especially concerned about the active sunscreen ingredients, because I'm allergic to almost every sunscreen product I try.

I haven't looked into the specific ingredients, but my skin is super sensitive to sunscreens (I can't even wear most that are made for sensitive skin) and this foundation (and the powder, both with the SPF) don't irritate my skin at all. I am super happy with the Shiseido line in general, and this product in particular.

Definitely go with the dual balancing. I would suggest going to an actual store and having a beauty advisor match your color. Foundation is very tricky to buy online since the colors you see on your screen don't necessarily look like the live product.

Question
Do you use loose powder to set this makeup? If not do you use cream or powder blush with it?

I use loose powder to set (either Laura Mercier mineral finishing powder or Chantecaille loose powder) and most days I use a cream blush (NARS penny lane). I apply the cream blush immediately after the foundation, and let it set for a moment before applying powder. On days I wear powder blush, I apply it after the loose powder.
