Questions & Answers for Shiseido The Makeup Powdery Foundation

Question
Color Pick- Neutral Beige?, Red spots
I am on the fair side, but not porcelain. My other foundations are named "natural buff" and "neutral" in undertone. Which shade should I pick?

I also have fair skin with uneven skin tone, but have found some powder foundations in the light to fair range make me look way too pale. I am using # I20 Natural Light Ivory and it seems like a good fit. Good coverage damp or dry and the color, while on the fair side, is not too pale. It's a nice neutral color too.

This product does contain Titanium Dioxide, but it is not its main sunscreen ingredient. You should probably try a sample of it first. They have samples at Shiseido counters of the powders.

Question
coverage
I wanted to know if this foundation is gentle enough for sensitive skin. I have acne scars and discoloration all over my face and I'm trying to find a foundation that won't make me breakout and one that will give me a somewhat better complexion.

I have sensitive skin and acne scars and spots of discoloration on my face too. This makeup has never made me break out, and I think it provides really good coverage and evens out skin tone. It works especially good when used wet: just dampen the sponge, swipe it a few times across the foundation, and blend in a circular motion on your face. I have always tried to find a product that wouldn't make me break out and actually do something that I could see. This really does even out your skin and acne scars and discolorations are so much less noticeable, if at all. It is also great for oily skin because it is mattifying, but not cakey. I wouldn't recommend this to someone with dry skin.

Question
How long does makeup last?
I bought this probably about six months ago, and I love it, but I really only wear it on special occasions so I still have a lot left. Most of the time I wear a tinted moisturizer or primer and I was just wondering if anyone knew how long you should keep a foundation?

Question
What do the letters stand for?
I'm guessing the different letters stand for undertones. Will someone post what the letters stand for? I have some yellow undertones, but am pretty neutral. Any suggestions? I'm pretty fair skinned.

Hi! The answer to you question is B= Beige (cool/pink undertones), I=Ivory (neutral undertones) and O=Ochre (yellow undertones). The numbers are the shade degrees. If you are neutral with fair skin, you would be an I00 or I20, depending on what you want to try. The O shades are pretty yellow. For reference, I am a MAC NC25, so I wear O20. Hope that helps!

Question
color selection
I have been using the Bare Escentuals mineral foundation in Medium (medium skin/ neutral undertones) which is the perfect shade for me, but I want to try the Shiseido Powdery Foundation. I'm torn as to what shade would be right for me. Can anyone tell me what would be a comparable shade to the Bare Escentuals Medium. Thanks.

I would say go with I-40, and when you have a dark tan, I-60.

You lightly dampen the sponge or spritz your face. Then blend, blend, blend. Easy!

This gives fairly good coverage, I suppose you could use it over top of a foundation if you want really heavy coverage, but otherwise, I'd just do it by itself with concealer first on any spots that need more coverage, rather than heavy coverage all over.

Probably try B20 if you're pretty pink in skintone, or I20 if you're more neutral. the O shades are really warm-toned, not any neutral or pink tones.

Try I00 or I20, most likely. Or if you're really warm-toned (yellow undertones) try the beginning O shades.
