Shiseido The Makeup Powdery Foundation

What it is: A lightweight powder compact foundation. What it does: This beautiful foundation can be applied wet or dry to provide a soft, velvety matte finish while offering UV ray protection with SPF 14 to 17. It reduces shine with oil-absorbing powder, minimizes the visibility of pores, and softens imperfections. Formulated with Multi-Nutrient Factor, an advanced moisturizer, this product is recommended for normal to oily skin types. What else you need to know: This compact makes it easy to transport your powdery foundation. With a spot inside for your sponge applicator, you can grab and go for touch-ups anytime and anywhere. The case and refill are sold separately.

Are you sure it is the Titanium Dioxide? I am Austrian and about 8 years ago, my dermatologist, had me change all my sun protektion to Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide. My skin cleared up and has stayed that way. When I tried Bare minerals ,it broke out again.Derm said that was probably Bismuth Oxide.Traded for Jane Irradale(no Bismuth),it cleared up.I have Multiple Sclerosis and have become very sensitive.I have noticed, that lot's of pouders have Bismuth, and that lot's of spf's,have a mineral and a kemikal like octinoxate. This one does, and it also has the most common irritant, parfumes. It is all very confusing, and if you have not, it may be a good idea to seee a Derm. and let them do an allergy test. I now know exactly what I am allergic to,and it has saved me money, and facial problems ever since.

This product does contain Titanium Dioxide, but it is not its main sunscreen ingredient. You should probably try a sample of it first. They have samples at Shiseido counters of the powders.

Question
How long does makeup last?
I bought this probably about six months ago, and I love it, but I really only wear it on special occasions so I still have a lot left. Most of the time I wear a tinted moisturizer or primer and I was just wondering if anyone knew how long you should keep a foundation?

Sheisedo, has an expiry date on products.Look for a round symbol( like the top of a pot or jar).It will have a number like 12 or so on it.All,European produkts are required to carry the symbol, and Sheisedo does as well..You probably have a produkt with this on it.Lot's of USA companies are starting to use it, as well.Sometimes it is only on the box ,but most of the time it is on the back,if they have room.On this it should be on the plastik that the make-up itself comes in,but I believe it is on the back of the kompakt as well.

Question
coverage
I wanted to know if this foundation is gentle enough for sensitive skin. I have acne scars and discoloration all over my face and I'm trying to find a foundation that won't make me breakout and one that will give me a somewhat better complexion.

Shiseido make up is great for that. They formulate their makeup with at least 70% skin care so it's not just make up. I have acne scars and discoloration due to it as well and I love how it evens out my skin tone and the spf in it help protect my acne scars from the sun.

I have sensitive skin and acne scars and spots of discoloration on my face too. This makeup has never made me break out, and I think it provides really good coverage and evens out skin tone. It works especially good when used wet: just dampen the sponge, swipe it a few times across the foundation, and blend in a circular motion on your face. I have always tried to find a product that wouldn't make me break out and actually do something that I could see. This really does even out your skin and acne scars and discolorations are so much less noticeable, if at all. It is also great for oily skin because it is mattifying, but not cakey. I wouldn't recommend this to someone with dry skin.

Question
What Color Would Be Right For Me?
I am currently using Bare Minerals in Medium Beige (light to medium/golden undertones). That color is perfect for my skin tone. What color would be best for me? I'm thinking the 040 would be best but I'm not sure. If anyone can help me out, that would be awesome.

O40 and O60 are very close colors but of coarse O60 is just a tad darker both are great colors esp. if you have golden undertones :)

They sell it that way so when you are done all you have to do is order the refill and cuts the cost for you and saves on wasting packaging.
The refill will come in a plastic enclosed container (very clean) and you will get a new sponge each time you order a refill.
All you have to do is pluck it out and stick it into the compact. So each time you are done you keep the compact but throw away the inside and put refill in.

The case and actual makeup come separate. The sponge does come with the powder foundation. The case is worth getting, especially if it will become an accessory in your purse. After, you'll only have to worry about getting the makeup refills. The case isn't too pricey, and after you purchase it, you'll be glad you did :)

Yes the $29.50 is for the foundation only. The case is separate. As for the O20 that is more for yellow skin tone best for Asians or Olive complexions.

I20 is it a bit more pink. That use to be my tone and then I noticed I'm a bit more yellow 020 is good for Olive tones which I am. And yes this foundation/powder is a refill you would need to purchase the compact. To be honest I wish I hadn't purchased the compact the powder comes in a plastic casing which is easy for on the go. Sometimes the compact opens I don't even use it. I just carry a small hand held mirror with me.
