You should definitely use a make up remover before you use this product. This product alone will not remove all of your make up, esp mascara.

It will remove makeup; however, be careful around the eyes--it's a bit stingy if you get it in your eyes.

no need to avoid the eye area. I wear contact lenses and my eyes are sensitive, but I have had no problem with this product. I use eye makeup remover first, but then wash my whole face with the cleansing foam to remove the last bits of eye make up...

I use the cleanser with my clarisonic and it completely removes my makeup, even my eye makeup, but be careful, if you get it in you eye it stings like crazy.

It will remove eye makeup, but shut your eyes! Then wipe with a soft wet cloth and you're fine!

I use it all over my face... including the eye area. I do use eye make-up remover first, but there is always that last bit that doesn't come off. This cleansing foam removes that last bit - and all the other make up as well.

I don't recall the packaging saying to avoid the eye area..I use it in my eye area but if you wear heavy eye makeup you may require a toner/makeup remover/cold cream afterwards. Just be sure not to get it in your eyes tho. it stings!

I love this product. It works very well on my skin. Actually, I have some skin problems like prone to breakout, aging. I love it once I used it for the first time. It give you a clean and soft, silky feeling. strongly recommendate.

my skin is mainly combo, but in the colder months it does feel drier, but this doesn't affect it all. Worth a try, what have you got to lose?

I would say yes but you would need still need to use a moisturizer after if that makes sense....It does the job as far as removing makeup and brightening the complexion of dry skin but it doesnt leave your skin moisturized or anything, just really clean and soft, but in my case still a little tight.

I'm not particularly acne-prone either but have my occassional breakouts, and I haven't noticed any additional burn compared to other face cleansers I have used successfully. I have extremely sensitive skin on my face, but Shiseido products usually are a safe bet for me. Plus, this product is very milky so it doesn't leave my skin feeling dry. It is definitely one of my favorite face cleansers I've tried. Hope this helps! :)

I have normal skin right now as well. I had some serious breakouts due to stress a couple years ago and then started using this and my skin really improved. It's smells lovely and it is not harsh like other cleansers. This would be the only product I need to use everyday, aside from moisturizer. This is one product I'm not afraid will cause more breakouts, especially right now since my hormone levels are changing after having a baby.
