Questions & Answers for MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Seal

Question
Is this product used INSTEAD of, or IN CONJUNCTION with a shadow primer?
I have watery eyes, and my liner always fades/flakes away from both the inner & outer corner of my eyes. I've tried pencil, liquid and gel liners, with the same results. Even waterproof liners don't hold up to my tears! I'm currently using Too Faced primer, and it works great in the middle of my eyelid, where the tears don't reach. I'd love to find a product that can stand up to my tears!

I use it with a shadow primer as well. It has allowed me to line my water line and lower lid, even with teary eyes!

I found that whenever I'd make a mistake drawing my liner (using the aqua seal over it) and needed to wipe it off to fix it, I needed to use makeup remover (water had no effect on it), so I'd say it would probably stand up to your tears; It's pretty sturdy stuff! I personally use it in conjuction with an eyeshadow primer (Urban Decay) just because I have really oily eyelids (better to be on the safe side) but I think it would be alright without as well.
Best of luck!

Try hourglass liquid waterproof liner. I was one the store and drew a line on my hand to see the shade of the Indigo liner. I didn't bother removing it before leaving. Two days later the line is still on my hand. I had showered, washed my hands, did the dishes, bathed my dog and that stuff was still there. No smudging what's so ever. I finally took my make up remover to it and it came off pretty easily.

Question
Does the MUFE eye seal work well on the cream shadows?
I have many of the flash cream colors and am having trouble with creasing. I currently use the benefit eyeshadow primer, it works well with powder but not cream.

I tried using the MUFE Eye Seal with cream shadows and pencils. It does stays on but may smudge a bit. Doesn't dry completely like when using powedered shadow. I found if you use your cream shadow with the seal, then apply a thin layer of powder shadow over it you don't have the smudging.

Question
waterproofing makeup
Has anyone tried using this over their mineral face powders to make it water proof? I know it says "eye seal" but it also says it can waterproof all powdery makeup and pencils. Any help would be great :)

I have water proofed my mascara and all eye products with this, but not my entire face makeup. You could try it, but you would no longer be using a mineral type makeup as it seems it would convert it to a very thin type of liquid makeup. I do not feel it would be the best use of this product. All of your eye makeups are worth a try, but the face I would not. But there are quite a few waterproof makeups out there for face and body. MAC has one and so does MakeUp Forever - and I am sure there are others I would check those out. As mixing this with a mineral makeup would decrease it's coverage and the look of the makeup itself.

Question
What kind of brush is recommended to use with this?
i used a flat fine brush, but that didn't seem to work to seal on my pencil eyeliner - in fact, it looked kinda oily and seem to melt/smear the eyeliner. i think i might be using the wrong brush/wrong technique.

drexalia - I read your review about the eye seal by Makeup Forever. I also ONLY use eyeshadow as my liner, and my little trick to keep it set ALL DAY is to use a black eyeliner first on upper and lower lash lines, then with a small angled brush, apply shadow on top. You will be AMAZED!!!! Even if you use the same shadow on the rest of your eye, the black eyeliner will enhance the shade to give a slight contrast and will not show thru. Hope you read this and it helps. - - Jersey Girl 4ever!

Question
Use as a spray?
I was reading through the reviews and I noticed that most people are complaining that the Eye Seal stiffens their brushes. So I was wondering... would it be possible to put it in a spray bottle (maybe along with a solvent to make it slightly more liquidy) and spray it onto the eye after make-up application? That way you don't have to use a brush, and you don't have to worry about it drying too quickly.

If you mix it with a tiny amount of water and put a few drop into a spray bottle you can use as a spray. Just shake it a little before applying to the face.

Dont put it on your brush. Even I didnt do that. Just put it on your finger and on your eyes or face. You want the makeup to stick to your face not the brush, right?!?!?!?!? Think about it when you glue something to paper you dont put the glue on you first then the paper, its the same thing. They should change the directions on this stuff!

You cna use this product with anything especially eyeshadow and eyeliner. I just wouldn't recommend using it with a liquid eyeliner that hasn't dried yet. It works amzing on top of eyershadows and eyeliners. I've used it on top of eyeshadows, gel eyeliners, eye brow powders, lipliners, cheek blush powders, and luminizers. It works best with one drop with a brush on top of the makeup. If you mix the makeup and the eye seal with a brush, just make sure to wash the brush very thoroughly afterwards with brush shgampoo and water. When the eye seal dries onto the brush, it will cause the bristles to stiffen and stick together.

Yes you can!! I have been using this just for that reason for many years. After playing with it I have discovered that this applied over finished eye makeup will in fact waterproof your makeup without smudging or running if applied correctly. The key is to use a sponge tip applicator, dap the applicator into the Eye Seal and then gently pat on top of your eye makeup (no rubbing! just pat). Your makeup will stay put for days with this on top until you take it off. So the answer is yes, it will and you will be so happy you bought it and tried it!!

Question
I use it to re-vamp dry gel liner
I have 2 gel liners that have become too hard to use normally. I dip my liner brush into a drop of eye seal, wipe off any excess and then dip into my gel liner and apply. Works great, but you must give your lids a few moments to dry. Stays on forever!

I just added a drop or two inside my gel liners and mixed it a tad with my brush. It worked AWESOMELY! I highly recommend this to anyone with that problem, especially if u have more than one gel liner drying out because one of these can be used for all your liners and saves u $ for a new different liner :-)

I have, even with glittery pigments (Sugarpill's). It's fine as long as you're careful and don't have terribly sensitive eyes.

You might want to call the company and check with them, but as a user of it, I wouldn't want to use it on the inner rim, especially if it's mixed with a shadow or liner that's not formulated for use there.
