I chose the Ammo over the deluxe. I think it's better if you are a first-time UD shadow user like me because it "pairs up" colors for you (one on top of another) to take guesswork out of which colors to use together. Also, I thought Deluxe colors were quite bright for my taste, but if you like them bright, go for it. I might get the Deluxe later to use as eyeliners.

The Ammo is a great way to try 10 of UD's bestselling shadows. The colors are universally flattering and they ALL mix and match for endless possibilities of eye colors. I looked at all of their palettes and this one was the best in my opinion.

I'm fair/medium skin colored and this palette (Urban Ammo) works very well with my skin tone. There are many colors to mix and match with so you won't have to worry about too dark/too light application. Sin and Maui Wowie are my favorite for beginners and you can graduate to Copper, Last Call, and Smog when you're looking for something more edgy. Either way, Sephora has a good return policy so give it a try and if you don't like it, you can return it.

I would start with a small set, or single color to insure that you like the quality & texture of the shadow.

Question
What do the eyeshadows look like when you put them on?
Are they matte, shimmery, glittery, or metallic? And what about the colors? Are they natural looking, or are they dramatic and bold?

They all are shimmery and are highly pigmented so the color goes on well. However, in addition to being shimmery, chopper, oil slick, mowie wowie, polyester bride, and grifter are also glittery.

The colors are glittery, dramatic and bold. I wear glasses so I do wear them during the day, but others might not be comfortable with that. The colors also last all day.

Question
Amno Palette or Wallpaper Palette?
Never tried this brand of shadows before... which one should I get? Also which palette has less sparkle-y or glitter shadows- I love shimmer however, the glitter shadows are not practical for me since I'm a stay at home mommy.

I really love this pallette, although there is quite a bit of glitter. You might want to try the sustainable palette, which has more glimmer/shimmer, and less glitter. You really can't go wrong with urban decay!

Ammo has glitter in almost all of them so i would go with the wallpaper palette. Wall paper has shimmer, but not over the top bright colors that you couldnt wear during the day. Ammo is my favorite out of the 2 but im 21 and like to go out and wear bright makeup

This is a great value set! You get to try 10 of Urban Decays best selling eyeshadows for less than 40 dollars. One eyeshadow is 16 dollars alone and you cant beat this rad packaging. This is definately some major bang for your buck.

i think that this palette is really good.
the only thing that i am not quite happy with is that the eye shadow is so powdery that if not put on just right other parts of my face get the powder.

the colors are nice and the sparkles add an extra touch!
but all in all i love =)

Question
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AMMO/NEW BOOK OF SHADDOWS?
I have the Ammo palette and I do love it (except the glitter that falls all over my face ) but, I was wondered what is the difference between these two? Other than the additional colors (more like texture..and so forth)

One more question....any thoughts on sustainable shadow box?

Most of the shadows in UD palettes are shimmery or sparkly. I'm crossing my fingers that they release a palette of their matte shadows soon. The Book of Shadows for this year contains almost all shimmer or glitter, with one matte shade. Basically, with the Book of Shadows you get more colors and more extras (primer potion and 24/7 pencils) in a bulkier package. If you're going for portability, this one is great--small and light.
I love the sustainable shadow box and use it almost every day. Again, it's got sparkly or shimmery shadows, but a nice variety with brights and neutrals. I use half baked and twice baked together and blend them out with midnight cowboy rides again (SUPER sparkly). The only thing you have to be aware of is the lid of the palette--I appreciate the idea of the sustainable thing, and in theory it's great, but the lid swings open so when you are taking the palette with you rubberband the thing together so it doesn't spill.

I use the smog for a crease color with the sin as a lid shade. It is a little shimmery, but not to much for day . . . plus I always get compliments when I wear it from both the younger and older crowds.

Yes, the majority (not all) of their products are vegan-based. But 100% of their products are cruelty-free (no animal-testing). My family has many vegetarians (young and old) and they use Urban Decay for their eco-friendly policies.
