This product is shimmery a little. I am 40 and I didn't think that it concealed large pores very well. Does not give a matte finish, either, so you may look a little shiny.

HI! I am a dark haired FAIR. So if you are light, definitely get the Fair, it will blend better. Make sure your moisture is absorbed COMPLETELY, then brush it on , tap brush before to remove excess. I've NEVER had it settle or crease. Just dust it on all over lightly, you can touch up extra on where needed with concealing brush to cover spots. I am fair w/golden base and it is REALLY natural on me with no shine or glitter. I am 55 now and it is NOT aging, dry, shiny or flat looking, doesn't crease or settle. You can use it alone as a base, use to touch up during the day or to get more cover over her pump liquid foundation. I think you will really like it. I have had REALLY good luck with her "Baked" products. They look pretty and natural on, blend easy and are multi purpose and I feel are her best products. Give it a try in Fair if you are Blonde and have light coloring (unless you tan!) and try using it different ways. I have never had any problems with mica showing up or any problems with it aging my face. I love it! Try it , even just for quick fixes or getting out of the house quickly. It really is a quick , radiant look! Try the Fair if you are light and the Regular if you are darker. It even feels creamy on even though it is a powder. I do use a creaseless, creamy type under eye concealer because I have wrinkling under my eyes, but it works out just fine. I use Laura's colorless mattifier powder to set the concealer but there are a lot of other setting products you can use. Dust light and build if you need and I think it will work well for you. hope that helps!

yes, mica certainly can age the face, although it purports to do the exact opposite. I've found it's better to use a highlighting product in select areas of the face, like on the brow bone or on the upper cheek bone, as opposed to using a product with mica all over the face. I highly recommend you try Laura Mercier's Pressed Powder. if you have a fair to medium complexion, it will be just the ticket for making your skin look flawless. and it has no sparkly component. Sephora also makes a nice Mattifying Compact Powder. perhaps 'D20' would be a good shade for you. the Balance and Brighten is a nice idea, but I can't recommend it. I hope this helped!

Christine, I would use the fair, and I can tell you that applied with a big brush, nothing settles in the fine lines. I used it with a puff at first, and it was a little too much, but a brush is the way to get the best results.
