Question
I have silver hair and blue eyes. I am presently using the Bronze and Brighten. Should I be using the Balance n Brighten instead?

If your complextion is fair, the bronze and brighten may be giving you a "muddy" look. The balance and brighten comes in a fair or medium shade selection. I would try the fair, and if it is a little too light you can sweep a little of the bronze and brighten over it to give yourself a bit of glow!

I'm 53 and use both...the Balance n Brighten all over (it really helps even out my skintone) and the Bronze n Brighten across my forehead, down the nose, on the chin and sometimes across my cheeks.

I use both. I use the Balance for a setting powder and the Bronze as a bronzer in areas I want to add some color to.

Absolutely...switch over to the balance-n-brighten. I, too, was using the bronzer, but this product is far superior. I have some unevenness to my skin from a pregnancy mask, and this product covers it completely. My skin looks radiant and even when I wear this...and I don't put a thing over or under it! Give it a try...

I use the Balance n Brighten when I need overall coverage and the Balance and Bronze as color onto of it. When I'm in a pinch I throw the balance n brighten and run out the door. It comes down to whatever you need - coverage vs. color - and what your skin tone is.

The Bronze N Brighten is great to add color to your face. Balance N Brighten is not meant to do that. It's great as a foundation or used over a foundation to give a flawless finish. I use it every day and then use Bronze N Brighten over top, for color.

Bronze- N =Brighten is good if you want a tanned look. I reallly like the balance n brighten because it gives you a natural look. Just add a little blush and you are ready to go.

n my experience with balance-n-brighten, it made my skin dull and nothing really looked balanced about it. I would actually recommend trying Bare Minerals. I have found that it lasts longer throughout the day, is easier to match to your skin tone and has SPF.

I like to use the balance and brighten all over and then I use the bronze and brighten just as a bronzer. They compliment one another well. I also use one of the blushes. I tried them out originally using a samper pack that sold all 3.

I am blond and blue eyed with yellow undertones and normally wear a medium foundation--should I buy the medium in the fair balance n brighten? Also since I'm over 50--I try to stay away from shimmer. Will this product be okay for my skin? Thank you ...Christine

This product is shimmery a little. I am 40 and I didn't think that it concealed large pores very well. Does not give a matte finish, either, so you may look a little shiny.

HI! I am a dark haired FAIR. So if you are light, definitely get the Fair, it will blend better. Make sure your moisture is absorbed COMPLETELY, then brush it on , tap brush before to remove excess. I've NEVER had it settle or crease. Just dust it on all over lightly, you can touch up extra on where needed with concealing brush to cover spots. I am fair w/golden base and it is REALLY natural on me with no shine or glitter. I am 55 now and it is NOT aging, dry, shiny or flat looking, doesn't crease or settle. You can use it alone as a base, use to touch up during the day or to get more cover over her pump liquid foundation. I think you will really like it. I have had REALLY good luck with her "Baked" products. They look pretty and natural on, blend easy and are multi purpose and I feel are her best products. Give it a try in Fair if you are Blonde and have light coloring (unless you tan!) and try using it different ways. I have never had any problems with mica showing up or any problems with it aging my face. I love it! Try it , even just for quick fixes or getting out of the house quickly. It really is a quick , radiant look! Try the Fair if you are light and the Regular if you are darker. It even feels creamy on even though it is a powder. I do use a creaseless, creamy type under eye concealer because I have wrinkling under my eyes, but it works out just fine. I use Laura's colorless mattifier powder to set the concealer but there are a lot of other setting products you can use. Dust light and build if you need and I think it will work well for you. hope that helps!

yes, mica certainly can age the face, although it purports to do the exact opposite. I've found it's better to use a highlighting product in select areas of the face, like on the brow bone or on the upper cheek bone, as opposed to using a product with mica all over the face. I highly recommend you try Laura Mercier's Pressed Powder. if you have a fair to medium complexion, it will be just the ticket for making your skin look flawless. and it has no sparkly component. Sephora also makes a nice Mattifying Compact Powder. perhaps 'D20' would be a good shade for you. the Balance and Brighten is a nice idea, but I can't recommend it. I hope this helped!

Christine, I would use the fair, and I can tell you that applied with a big brush, nothing settles in the fine lines. I used it with a puff at first, and it was a little too much, but a brush is the way to get the best results.

I find that with my skin (huge pores, oily and prone to breaking out) and I love this stuff. I say if you use moisturizer to keep doing it and as far as this powder + Laura's Welcome Matte Skin Enhancer makes my skin look almost perfect together. I use the skin enhancer first and then blend in the balance-n-brighten and seriously, you can barely see my pores. I also use the skin enhancer throughout the day to touch up for my pores and oily skin. As long as I wash my face, it hasn't broken out my skin but I have used this (the skin enhancer) before going to bed quite a few times and have had no problems with breakouts.

I recently purchased this product and have been using it for a week. The first few days I applied the make up were fine, but last night I noticed that my face was beginning to break out on my forehead. Tonight, after washing my face, I noticed 15-20 pimples forming on my forehead with redness and irritation. It looks like my forehead broke out in hives.

I hope this is a one time event caused by using this product with another, because I love the coverage.

I recently purchased this item, so I'll wait a bit more to see how this goes. I've been using this product for a week. The first few times I applied the make up, I had no problems with pimples. Last night I noticed that my forehead was beginning to break out. Tonight, after washing my face, I inspected my forehead and noticed 15-20 pimples beginning to form. I think using this with Laura's "Welcome Matte Sking Enhancer" helps cut down on any shininess but if you like the dewy look then a second application will give you that great look. Using the "Enhancer" gives skin an airbrushed look and seriously minimizes pores. I have never loved my complexion but with this combo, it looks amazing. Too bad it didn't come around until I turned 40!!!!! This definitely takes a few years off. I just have to make sure to take the skin enhanver along with me for touch ups throughout the day, I LOVE this stuff,

I usually put a moisturizer on in the morning as part of my waking up shower routine, then after that is all done I put on my primer and then my foundation. I think by using both you can ensure the best finish of the makeup possible and make sure it doesn't irritate your pores

I personally detest liquid foundation. My daily routine consists of a light moisturizer, and once that has dried/absorbed, I use this as an all over powder. It blends well, and gives you a light tan/glow. Not a fake n bake look.
