They are stiff. I was looking for a stiff brush as well and this one is great.

They definitely are stiff--very stiff, in fact, when you first use it. Once you use it for a couple of weeks, you should find that the brush is just a little broken in enough so you don't deposit too much powder in a harsh line, but still stiff enough that you can define well.

The bristles are hard and stiff. You might like it if you are looking for stiff.
