Questions & Answers for Benefit Cosmetics Some Kind-A Gorgeous

Question
What is this product's "staying power?"
I am wondering if it transfers/rubs off easily onto clothes, hands, etc. Also, can it stand up to sweat on a humid day? Thanks in advance!

It stays pretty well, unless you have extremely oily skin.

this product sets really well with a nice lightweight powder finisher like georgia but it's not really marketed as a long-lasting rub-proof foundation. It IS however marketed as your perfect color match as it warms to the complexion to become YOUR exact shade. the oil free silky finish is just a bonus.

The tan is very dark, and on lighter skin, can look a little bit orange if you're just going for a bronzing effect. The tan is great, though, if you're using it while you're tan . I'd say get the light and just use bronzer.

I would definitly get the lighter shade, the dark shade is too dark for me and I have very tan skin ( polynesian).

Question
Product Color... which to choose?
I would like to try this product, but not sure which of the 2 colors offered would be best for me. My normal foundation color is "buff beige" my L'Oreal. I have blue eyes, brown hair, and tan fairly easy.

Which would you suggest?

Thank you,

the sheer natural beige is meant to warm to your skin and take on your natural color. the darker tan is meant for more caramel african-american tones

I'd go with the lighter one if I were you... buff beige is on the lighter side and I find I can get away with a slightly lighter powder rather than one that is too dark. Good luck!

According to the Sephora website, there is a Sephora store right in your town at the First & Main Ctr in JC Penney. If they do not carry Benefit (which is unlikely) then I'm sure you can request it. Also, shopping online is the greatest because for every order you make you get 3 free samples plus the option to use a coupon code to get an extra deluxe sample.

Question

I am a 50 year old with dry skin looking for a light foundation to give a little more coverage in certain areas (under eyes, chin...). Does it actually look powdery when it dries?

If you have dry skin, I would recommend trying a liquid foundation. While this really isn't powdery at all any patches of dry skin will become noticeable.

I didn't find this powdery at all, but I'm in my early 30s with oily skin, so you may end up with a different result. I suggest a moisturizing liquid foundation or a tinted moisturizer instead - Laura Mercier has a fantastic tinted moisturizer.

Question
Which brush should I use?
I'm seeing a lot of reviewers advising that a brush should be used instead of the sponge. Which brush would you recommend using, and what type?

I always used a foundation brush with this, and I never had a problem with excess product on the brush. It still gave a very natural finish. I found that the sponge that came with it made the coverage too heavy and cakey, so I switched to a brush and was happy. I would use a typical foundation brush, with synthetic hairs. You can find them on this site, they have hundreds available. The flat, almost tapered ones are the best.

i've done a fair amount of research into this subject, wondering if i should even use a foundation brush for it. i know that sponges are renowned for the way they hold onto bacteria and waste product. foundation brushes, however, are known to waste less product and be more sanitary. the foundation brush tends to work better for liquid makeup though as the cream foundation sticks the brush a fair amount.
i just use my fingers (after washing my hands quite thoroughly first) and spread it over my nose and cheeks. the finish is still natural and i know that at the very least my hands are clean!

Question
Could I have gotten the wrong color?
I bought this product in a Sephora store, after trying and liking the sample. But when I got it home I couldn't get it to blend nicely into my medium-to-light skin. Now I see on the website that there are two color tones. The one I have looks exactly like the one in the picture on the site. It does not say anything about color anywhere on the compact itself and in fact one of the reasons I purchased it was because the display said it came in one color that suited almost all skin tones. Could I have accidentally gotten the darker tone?

Your most likely have the right color. I too, have light-medium skin and this stuff looks like I bought CoverGirl foundation in the wrong shade. Too bad there aren't more choices. Personally, I love Stila Illuminating Liquid foundation in 50 Watt.

The packages for the two different tones are different, the darker tone has a blue label and is designed for deeper skin tones... try using a brush to apply product, it'll blend in easier than with the sponge.
