My hair is dark brown with red highlights. I got the Brunette pencil which is lighter than my dark brows, but looks very natural.

Get the blonde! I have medium brown hair with light highlighted ends and the blonde looks very natural next to my darker roots. If your hair is sparse I would definitely recommend the blonde as well because it won't look as "obvious".

it sounds darker than it is, but i would try the brunette color pencil. i have dark blonde/light brown hair and that's the one i use! it looks very natural!

I would go with the taupe. However, if you are looking for a nice alternative that works for all skin tones/hair color, try Laura Mercier brow pencil in blonde (tip from a makeup artist). It's a similar texture and lasts forever.

If you have medium brown hair with blond highlights get the Blond it's softer that's what I got and believe me you want natural not drawn on.When you use too dark of a brow pencil they look fake. I Love the Blond!!! Hope this helps!

I also have dark brown hair, I purchased the lorac pencil in taupe and I like the way it looks on my brows. Just apply it like you would any other color onto your brows. You'll be pleased with the way your brows look.

test drive both which is what I did. just a trick to try, when using the pencil, use short strokes to imitate brows and don't press too hard.

Go with the blond

Yes, more so than other brands I've tried. I live in hot, humid Houston, and it stays in place, even after working out. Of course if you wipe it off with a towel, it will smear. Common sense. But it does a good job of staying in place.

i don't think they market this pencil as waterproof, but unless you are rubbing your eyes all the time, it shouldn't smudge after application. when you apply it, it helps if the pencil is cold (like put it in the freezer for a few min before) and sharp.

Water-proof is a 'no.' Smudge-proof is a 'mostly.' As long as I don't rub directly on my eyebrows, then it stays put really well. I've caught myself rubbing my eyes or scratching near my brow & then in those cases, it will smudge a bit. Other than that - it's had decent staying power.

This pencil does not smudge. I'm not sure if it's "waterproof" in terms of swimming, but I can say that I have never had to touch it up, even on hot or wet weather days.

Once I apply my eyebrow pencil, I don't do any touch ups on it. I don't know if it is waterproof or not. I do like the way it goes on, very smooth.

just use an eyeliner sharpener. sephora has good pencil sharpeners for like $3-$5. that's all you need!
