Questions & Answers for MAKE UP FOR EVER Full Cover Concealer

Question
Safe for swimming/Removal?
I have acne on my face that I cover daily with foundation. Is this product something I could substitute on the days I plan on going swimming? Will it wipe off or come off while swimming?

Also, how do I remove it?

Thanks,
Katie

If your going swimming and do not want to wear foundation (completely agree with you, foundation does get heavy and sticky in humidity and heat) I would then suggest a tinted moisturizer first. Sephora has a new one in there line that would be perfect for skin with some acne. Then you can use this over top. This needs to have something to stick too, go a shade lighter too. Set with powder, but remember apply this with a concealer brush, same as the powder. Buff it on to your skin. I would suggest trying this first. If it doesnt work out there is always the kat von d tattoo concealer which you can use on acne related problems. However this item is more universal. To take it off you just need regular facial cleaner that says it removes waterproof makeup. Almost all of them do, and then use a toner right after followed by lotion. But Im sure if you have acne you already follow with toner and and oil free moisturizer. Clinique's acne collection of products really work. I use those products and this concealer on a regular basis. Just remember the key is to use a concealer brush, and keep those brushes clean. Washing once a week as so you dont transfer bacteria to other areas of your skin!

You might want to try Flesh #4...you want the concealer to be one shade lighter than your foundation and the other shades look a bit dark. The best thing would be to find a Sephora and try the shades but if that isnt possible, try #4 and if it doesnt work for you send it back for a darker shade. Hope that helps.

I use the Matte Fondation so I do not know. If it will help you they are quite dark. The 8 and 10 will go with the 40, 45, and 50 Matte Fondations. The 8 is almost too dark for the 40.

Question
Is the Make Up Forever Professional concealer non-comenogenic?
Hi. I am wondering if the make up forever concealer is non-comenogenic. I understand it hides imperfections like scars, and burns, and tattoos but does it also hide acne by any chance?

I have acne prone skin and this concealer hasn't caused any bad reaction to my skin. It's super light weight. Ideal for those with oily or acne prone skin because it's oil free. This will cover up acne blemishes/dark spots and some scars, however, if you have bumps, no concealer would hide the apperance but it would minimize the redness. HTH.

I think you can, if both the colors match your skin.
For some freckles, I have to use 2 colors - Makeup Forever concealer to cover the dark freckles, then when it dries, I cover it up with another concealer (not makeup forever, as I couldn't find the color that match my skin around it) to cover over it. It erases imperfection like a magic eraser!

Yeah, it's pretty thick but you can mix them :) This concealer tends to go 1-2 shades darker throughout the day. I would go with the lighter shade still

Question
Which shade would work best for light to medium skin with pink undertones?
I have think skin under my eyes resulting in dark blue circles, always. I have the Ivory 6 and it works well but I think it is too yellow. I have green eyes. I dont want to go any lighter because in summer the ivory6 is a little too light.

It may work that the color is slightly lighter under the eyes. I suggest just blending it with the other color shade on the cheek bones. You may also try a product that has light reflectors in it. Both these methods make your eyes look rested and give you an overall younger appearance.

I can't give a truly educated answer to which color concealer to use with light/med skin with pink undertones. I would say to use concealer closest to your dominate skin tone under not over your normal foundation. The foundation should help blend away any discrepancy in color. Or perhaps "diluting" it with a tinted moisturizer or brightener might make it closer to your skintone.

water, polyglyceryl-3 diisostearate, cyclopentasiloxane are the first three. if you're worried about breaking out, it also states that it is non-comedogenic, sensitive skin tested, fragrance-free, & dermatologist-tested.

My birthmark (dark red) is on my cheek and under the nose. I can't comment about swimming, but this one definitely has more staying power than anything else I've tried. It seems to survive moisture just fine. It can even survive the sniffles without too much damage. I wouldn't play waterpolo or anything, and it will probably wipe off with your towel if you don't take it easy on it 'til it dries, but it would definitely be worth a shot.

It's not very water resistant. I've had moments when I had been crying, and all the tear streaks showed through the makeup. I wouldn't recommend swimming with it. Other than that, still an amazing product.

Absolutely! If you know how to apply it correctly (and it's not rocket science, but there is a wrong way to do it), it can cover just about everything. However, moles will likely go un-covered because they are generally very dark. And while it could cover it, it would not look natural up close (maybe in a photo, but not in person).

Just be sure to select the correct shade (one that matches your skin tone) and it will look flawless. I have really bad skin and this is the only concealer I trust will help me achieve a flawless face (this combined with foundation).

Good luck! :)

In my opinion, it would absolutely hide just about anything. I'd imagine the key is finding the right color for you. When I used this concealer, along with my foundation, my face looked practically flawless (I have several acne scars and redness.) Thankfully this line has so many wonderful colors, even one that complimented my super fair skin color. I've tried just about every makeup line prior to Make Up for Ever, and the lightest colors of those other lines were just too dark for me.
