I feel the better quality the shampoo the less you need to use plus shampooing correctly makes a difference - distribute a small amount of shampoo evenly on both hands, then put one hand at base of neck and one hand at base of bangs - these are the two areas that need the most washing due to oils and dirt accumulation. if you feel like it is not properly lathering add a little more. play around with the amount - if you are using shampoo that is $16 - $30 per bottle (oh yeah that pricey is REALLY GOOD) you will be amazed how little you need. There is nothing at the drug store that is good - upgrade. work one hand from your forehead to crown of your head and the other from your neck to same spot (you know - have them meet in the middle) then work down the sides. do the same with conditioner.

I have this set, and I would say at least 5 and maybe up to 7 or 8 depending on how much product you use per shampoo.

I use about a tablespoon full of shampoo with each wash, and found the bottle to have more than enough to last me through a five day vacation where I showered pretty much twice a day because there was a beach/pool! I would easily estimate a good ten washes, because I came home with my shampoo bottle half full.

I would compare the oz measurements given with the US air policies- I flew with Spirit, and I just went onto their website, and found what liquid measurements were allowed.

The adherence to this seems to vary by airport but you are limited to the 100ml containers you can fit in a quart sized ziploc bag.

If you are checking your bag, then there is no problem with any of the containers or the carrier. You can take everything. If you want to carry it on, you may have more problems. First, the large jar is over 3oz, so you definitely cannot take it with your carry-on luggage. Also, the case may not fit the specifics of having your gels and liquids in a quart-sized bag. If I were carrying-on, I would use all the containers except the large jar, and I would put them in a quart-sized bag just to make sure I wouldn't have any problems going through security.

Possibly - does not met the standard but I had no problem with it traveling in the USA.

I only know the big container is NOT TSA approved. It is also NOT waterproof when zipped closed, but with the smaller bottles properly shut inside, it works fine in *checked* luggage.

You can get quite a few shampoos out of the 2.1oz bottle. I have long layered hair. I have taken these bottles full, and they last me over 2 weeks, but I do not wash my hair every day. Also, how many shampoos you get depends on the quality of your shampoo. Some are really watery, and you need more. I am pretty sure that you could definitely go on a one-week vacation without having to worry about running out of anything.

In my kit, the 2 clear bottles are both marked #1, and none of the other bottles or jars are marked.

2 clear bottles are #1, 2 opaque bottles are #5, but the short round containers, funnel and small bottles are not numbered.

I actually meant ...what is the # of the type of plastic. Like #1 & #2 are common recylable plastics. I am guessing these might be #5. Usually there is a triangle on the bottom with a number in it.

They are all plastic. I checked my suitcase, and had no problems with leaks or breakage.
