Question
Does this rub off on clothing?
I'm looking for a shimmer/bronzer to wear on my arms and chest for my wedding, but I'm afraid of it rubbing off on my white dress. Does this product transfer from skin to clothes?

It dries really fast so I doubt it, but to be safe I'd put it on first and wait a minute or two before dressing.

NOPE! I bought this about 3 weeks ago, and apply it religiously, and a fan forever! I have no complaints OTHER than I wish they had a bigger bottle! It smells great and only sticks to my skin, dries quickly...so great. And it doesn't leave any orangey residue.

I haven't had a problem with this rubbing off on clothes. However I've sprayed it after getting dressed and my black dress had light glitter on it...just took a dry washcloth and it came off pretty easily.

I used this spray on my skin for my own wedding and it didn't come off. Spray it on indoors, 10 minutes before you get your dress.

This item does not rub off on clothing. We do suggest starting off with a small amount and adding more if needed. To be on the safe side you may also want to gently blot the skin with a tissue to remove any excess before getting dressed.

Question
Is this better than sephora dry oil spray?
This spray is a lot more $ than sephora's dry oil spray, it it worth the price and how shimmery is it? I like a more natural look, will it be too much glitter?

With this product the more you spray the more shimmer you get. If you just spray a light dusting quickly, you get a very light, subtle shimmer.

If you like a more natural look I would go with the Sephora Dry Oil. I'm not a fan of mineral oil, and this stuff is loaded with it.

Hi,

I have very pale skin and this is perfect for me. I apply lightly for a barely there NON orange looking color, which has a slight shimmer. It was suggest I use a towel to remove any excess product, which I do and it looks great. Plus, it smells yummy.

Hope this helps.

I think it would be fine on fair skin - it's very subtle. Just spray lightly at first and see how you like it. I think it would look especially nice on your shoulders and arms......... good luck!

Dear tarte product user,

This product would absolutely work for a person with fair skin. There is very little color pigment in the spray, and the soft shimmer leaves just that, but not a strong amount of color. Fair skin go right ahead!

I doubt it! I find it has generally a gorgeous golden hue to it which I think would compliment all skin tones. You could sample it at the store as well to be sure

This product says that is formulated without petro-chemicals...but the 3rd ingredient is mineral oil?? Isn't mineral oil a petro chemical?

Wow, that must have been a good marketing campaign, jewels7. Sorry to disappoint, but it is well known that mineral oil is a by-product of processing crude oil into other substances. I suppose they were correct in stating it is made from minerals ground up from the earth as long as you take into consideration where crude oil comes from: materials that decayed/fossilized long ago. Don't take my word for it--do your research. Still, I myself can't imagine rubbing this type of by-product into my skin. Even if the FDA claims it's safe, it's just gross.

Looks like Sephora's natural seal means it contains "fewer to no" petrochemicals. I think this is a little deceiving myself and am glad I checked the ingredient list before buying. Too bad, because it looks like a fun product!

It is actually minerals that are ground up from the earth. It is all natural. They did a presentation of this product on a shopping channel that I watch and explained how the product was made.

Hi,

For best application, since you have a sample, you might need to either pour it into your hands, or perhaps try a small piece of wax paper, so that it doesn't absorb it the paper losing product. You could also do this with a small amount of a plastic wrap by putting some product on the plastic wrap, and then smoothing over your skin. I wouldn't use a sponge or brush because then you're going to loose too much product when it absorbs into the sponge or gets into bristles of a brush. The other thing you could do is to buy a small travel size spray bottle, depending on the size of your deluxe sample, and spray from there. They sell those bottles in the drug store for about $1.99. I just bought one for something else the other day.

Hope this helps.

Can you pour it out of the bottle? I think I'd get a larger size blush brush, and try applying it that way - just kind of brush it on your legs, arms, etc. I think you'd waste too much pouring it in your hand and rubbing on your skin - a little goes a long way.

That's very weird....it works best with the spray nozzle, but should work just fine if you poured it into the palm of your hand and rubbed it on the desired area.

the sprayer broke on the last bottle I purchased but no worries, I still used it. I took off the cap each time I wanted to use it and poured a little on my arms and legs and just rubbed in to the skin....it's beautiful

Dear tarte product user,

You are correct! This product does not have an applicator since it is a deluxe size sample. For best results, gently pour some Celebutante into hands and rub across desired area. Or, pour the product onto a dampened sponge and smooth across desired area for a wonderful glow.

I was also worried about that, and the answer is YES, since it has mineral oil in it, which is typically an ingredient you should avoid if you have acne-prone skin. :(

I wouldn't wear it on the face because of the glitter - I think that would make you looking like you're sweating. But definitely on the legs, arms, shoulders - I apply right after a shower - the scent isn't overpowering and it's very subtle. A perfect summer scent / look on bare skin......
