I have a one-step color process done every 6 - 8 weeks, and this shampoo does not fade my color at all.

answer 3
Yes it is because it is sulfate free because sulfates are too harsh on color treated hair

Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate IS NOT A SULFATE. The person who posted above is wrong, and was stupid to return an item she did not research. Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate IS NOT, I REPEAT NOT Sodium Lauryl Sulfate(which is bad). This shampoo is great for your hair.

My hair is chemically straightened and color treated and I have been using this shampoo for 6 weeks. My color looks great and my hair is soft, well conditioned and manageable.

I personally will never open the bottle. It is being returned immediately. Sephora and Tui Herbal have falsely advertised it as containing no Sulfates, but the second ingredient is Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate.

Sulfates are industrial chemically cleaners. Not something I would recommend allowing to touch any part of your body including your hair.

And yes it will strip the colour. Read the ingredient label of any product you are wishing to try, if it has to contain Sulfates look for it much lower on the list then the second ingredient, this way it will be at a much lower concentration. And therefor less likely to strip your colour.

But do not believe ANY product just because the front says "Sulfate Free"

Well...I was PLAGUED w/ dandruff even during washes, scratching it out, re washing, styling and etc. But then too my hair was chemically treated. I used this product daily for about 2 weeks (along w/ went naturally, used a deep conditioner and increased my water intake some) and I am more than happy to say that my dandruff days are gone. I'm not sure if it is due to this product of lack of chemicals now in my head or combination but hey. I cant say anything negative about it. I have also seen a change for the good in my daughter's hair / scalp from using this product on her. She had very dry scalp. And this shampoo wasnt harsh and actually revitalizes. I say give it a shot!

Question
Which Carol's Daughter product is for me?
I've read several comments concerning all of CD's products. Some were good and some were bad. For the most part I'm thinking these products are for the natural hair. That's what I'm getting from the comments from different sites. I would love to try some of these products. What's good for an Afro American women with relaxed hair that breaks and is occationally dry . I love shine and a great condioner! Any suggestions?

To be honest with you, you are going to have to try the products yourself and see which product best fits your needs. Sometimes you can base it on reviews and sometimes you can not because everyones hair type is different. I would say go to Sephora and get samples and try it on your hair to see which ones you like and which ones you dislike.

CD's Black Vanilla hair products will work best for your hair type. All of her oils are wonderful. I suggest Jada's Dynamic Duo over the Tui Oil for your hair type. (Jada's Dynamic Duo consists of: Lisa's hair elixer & Hair Balm)

Carol's Daughter products are great for both relaxed and natural hair. The Black Vanilla Leave In Conditioner leaves a great sheen in the hair. The Hair Milk I absolutely would recommend only to those with natural hair. The Hair Smoothies have excellent conditioning properties, you only need a small amount.

No this shampoo will not help hair growth. If you want healthier hair, increase your vitamin B(3,6,12) and Omega Three acids through fish or flax seed oil. The only shampoos that "help" with hair growth are so chemical, your health is better off if you buy a wig. This shampoo will help with keeping your hair clean and weightless, though.

I believe that hair that is nurtured and moisturized will grow. I think this product is good for maintaining hair health. I've been using this product weekly and have noticed that my hair is shedding less during combing and brushing.

Rosemary Mint Purifying Duo is better for locs. The Tui Hair Smoothie is also recommended. You'll like the Rosemary Mint better than the Tui. I have locs as well.

I just started using this shampoo myself and I have to say it does everything that you were concerned about. It was not drying at all, cleaned my hair, and combined with the leave-in conditioner and the tui hair oil, my hair is VERY soft and managable and shiny!!
