answer 1
It's the only moisturizer I'll use on my texture. My hair of a super-dense, unprocessed Af-Am texture. Not really curly, more of a z-type pattern; it literally drinks up any kind of moisture I put on it and will dry out and break without a good oil. I like this better than straight liquid oils because it absorbs well, and better than thick butters, which just weigh down my hair.

It works very well on naturally curly hair that has a tendency to get frizzy, black or white or other. Just follow the directions carefully, and don't overuse.

I have been using Carol's Daughter for 7 years now. I have always purchased on my trips to New York. But now it is great to see these products at my local Sephora. It is excellent for ethnic hair. I use on my granddaughter who is of two ethnicities and it is awsome on hers as well.

I know ethnic women who use this product and LOVE it. My hair is naturally curly but not ethnic, per se, which is why I think I had the issue with oilyness ... I would try it if I were you, definitely better than pink oil.

Question
Does it still smell like "pledge"?
I purchased this product about 7 mos. ago and love the product, but hate the lemony "pledge" scent. Has anyone purchased it more recently and has the scent changed? It is described as "lily of the valley" in the product description, but unless it's changed, that's NOT what it smells like. I'll buy it again if they lost the lemon pledge scent!

I would not use this product on straight hair. A great product for taming straight hair is "Argan Oil". Many products contain this but one that I recommend is "Moroccan Oil". Most salons carry it and swear by it!
P.S. they have a website www.moroccanoil.com

This can be used on both straight and curly.
I use this product after a flat-iron to keep the breakage down.
Also, if I work out i need to wash my hair of all the sweat and dirt I can just wash, towel dry, hair milk, and style! 20 mins. tops.

I would say yes if you have very dry hair and use sparingly as a hairdressing. The product is lightweight but would be too heavy if you like your straight hair look to be bouncy and have movement.

I had no idea this product would smell before I got it, because I hadn't read these reviews. I did notice a smell, a citrusy smell, that lasted all day in my hair for sure. However I felt the smell was light and not overwhelming at all. It just smelled like a light hair product, and I didn't mind that the smell lingered all day.

It smells good and fresh but is strong. What I do is moisturize at night, and by the morning when I go to style it the smell is mostly on my scarf or pillow and my hair's soft and only lightly scented. People think it's cologne.

It sounds like you have the same hair type (white girl, coarse, thick, dry-ish, wavy/curly hair) as I do. You may want to try Carol's Daughter leave-in conditioners. They're inexpensive, smell awesome, and leaves your hair shiny, conditioned and smooth.

I use the Tui Leave-in Conditioner, and I love the results -- when air-drying my hair, I don't normally use it because it is so moisturizing, but it's perfect for blow-drying. Just spritz it all over your hair (3-6 sprays depending on how much you need), work through with your fingers, and blow dry as usual. Good luck! =)

I shampooed and conditioned my hair. While it was still wet, I put about 2 quarter's worth of product (my hair is bout 3 inches past my shoulders) in my hair. I then made a low bun. The next day, I took out my bun and had beautiful, soft, hydrated hair. This is the 3rd day without washing and even though I use a small amount of product in my hair every day, it feels wonderful.

Question
for wavy hair?
I have very thick, coarse, wavy, tons of volume, long hair. I usually wear it smooth and straight but sometimes I like just to wash it and leave it natural, however, I got to put something in it to get rid of the frizz and make it shiny, I try this but probably used too much b/c it made my hair really oily and weightened down with just a few waves, couls someone recommend something from this line to enhance waves, I wonder if the oil or butter will do a better job. Thanks
