Question
I have the lightest complexion you'll ever see...would this match me?
i have very noticble acne unfortunatly, so i need a full coverage foundation, but not once have i ever been able to find one that matches my ridiculously light skin tone. Picture...albino (no joke). Would this match me? and if not... what will?!

Yes I think so. I also have incredibly fair skin and neutral undertones. Often if I find something pale enough it is still not a match for me because my skin does not have pink undertones. If you are a neutral, like me, or have yellow undertones, than I would go with the cream ivory, if you have pinker skin than go with rose ivory.

Soft ivory is a very pale color. It has a great base color too. Not too yellow or pink..more of a yellow base neutral. I have very fair skin and NC15 in MAC is a tad light and I could not wear Dior 010 or the lightest shade in Chanel. This is for the fairest of them all! It is beautiful. People say I look like a porcelain doll :) You will LOVE it. SOFT IVORY!!
Pluse this foundation has the naturalist looking coverage but apply it with Laura's sponge and use a wipping/stippling motion over face and stipple more product over hard to cover areas.
Its the best! Give it a shot!

While I haven't tried the Laura Mercier foundation yet (I'm just about to purchase it), I have found that a very good match for my crazy-pale skin is Kevyn Aucoin's 'The Liquid Airbrush' in LQ02. (Instead of "albino," I usually describe my color as "cave newt" :)

I think that this would work perfectly. I have very white skin with a lot of pink/red in it and the rep for Laura Mercier was able to match me perfectly. They have a lot of color options and this foundation provides GREAT coverage.

Hi again! I was at the counter the other day and bamboo ivory seemed darker than I thought. These foundations run dark. I think you would be more of a medium ivory. I hope this is not confusing! I am trying to help. This foundation is the best. Use it with the sponge from her line and use stippling motions and set with either foundation powder with a brush or the translucent powder with a puff.

Good luck!

Hi I would recommend the shade Bamboo Beige. It is a warm golden beige for light to medium skin tones with a mix of neutral beige and warm yellow beige. This color is a golden yellow undertone. I recommend this color based on what you said and the picture. Usually redheads have pink undertones so if you feel that you are more peaches and cream with some golden and some pink than I would try the Peach Ivory but from what you said I think bamboo beige will be perfect!
Its a great foundation. You should really try it :)

They have this in an oil free formula. I have dry skin & live in a dry climate, so it is tough for me to tell how it would interact with an oilier complexion.

Hi! I would suggest Cream Ivory. It is the second lightest shade in the line. However it is not fair, I would say it is a light color with pure yellow undertones. If you defentely have yellow undertones get this color or if you want a color with a little pink in it like a yellow based neutral I would get the Peach Ivory. The colors are all yellow based even the ones that say they are pink based. They really are more of a neutral yellow base.

Beware that cream ivory is very yellow. If you go down a shade Soft ivory is very very fair like an NC15 and is a great yellow neutral base.

The colors run darker then they describe. Also the jump from soft ivory to cream ivory is big. If you are buff 2 I definetly think soft ivory would be too light so go with cream ivory or peach ivory.

Hope this helped!!

I am a fair skinned red head and I bought the Beige Ivory since I use self-tanner all year around. I can tell you that even THAT was a little too dark for me but the way I get it to work is by using this only in the areas I need a little MORE coverage and I finish up with the Bare Escentuals line which is more lighter feeling that this brand. I don't like heavy makeup but I like more coverage.

Question
Coverage
I have pretty bad skin. If I do not have active acne, my face still looks reddish with scarring. I bought this product because I bought into the "flawless face" stuff and read that this product had heavy coverage. When I applied it with the Laura Mercier sponge (after using her primer), I did not see heavy coverage. Is there a secret to applying it for better coverage? Do I possibly need a darker color?

Coverage: I don't know if you need a darker color, but this is how I apply the product; I squeeze out about a pinki fingernail worth, slightly thick and raised. I put this all over one cheek, and half my nose and upper lip and chin. I push the make-up down with my fingers into my skin and kind of roll my fingers over the the area to the next area. I go across my cheek this way. Then the rest of my face in the same way. It goes quicker than it sounds. I don't like how sponges apply make-up.

If you feel one shade is too light, buy the next darker shade and layers or try mixing. There is never a cookie-cutter color for everyone! I haven't tried the primer, but usually primers and overpriced sponges take away from the foundation itself. Try the foundation on clean, dry skin. Use a wedge sponge and start with a little and then add more. Don't rub it in too much. If your kin is damaged you may just need to build layers of foundation. Be sure to blend at the chin/neck.

Use Soft Ivory. It has more of a pinker undertone than the beige ivory and medium ivory. I really think that would work :)

I would try Medium Ivory or Beige Ivory.

But if you've tried twice and didn't get a good match I think it's time to stop into a Sephora store to have them match you (if that's possible).

Otherwise, you can mix two colors together to make your perfect match. Best of luck!! :)

This product is different from other primers. It is not a silicone base. It won't feel filmy on the face and goes on like a moisturizer. You can look at the ingredients on Sephora.com, glycerine is listed.

I am a fair complected, dark brown, hazel eyed girl who also tans alot. But only spray tans because it is way to dangerous to use the beds or bake under the sun. I hope your just getting sprayed, it's great. I use ivory and apply blush, bronzer and translucent powder. My face matches my chest, legs, arms etc.

Hi there! I agree with the last reviewer about the makeup. It is wonderful and when used right with a sponge with wiping/stippling motions it will cover anything and it is buildable.

I do not agree with the suggestion of Sand Biege! It is dark and is for medium to golden skin tones and it is a more pinker base than the other colors. You said you used the #3 powder foundation so i would suggest you use Beige Ivory if you are more towards the lighter side and more like a light-medium skin tone or since your powder foundation color says is fair to medium use Medium Ivory if you are a medium skin tone. Both colors a great yellow base.

I really hope this helps!

Hello,

I absolutely recommend this foundation for you. It does not require touch-ups throughout the day and does not look cakey either. It is so smooth and flawless. You will love it. I, too, was planning to order a shade online but happened to be going out of town where there is a Sephora location and was able to find the right shade. I wonder if the "Sand Beige" shade would work for you. The color chosen for me is "Cashew Beige," darker than I had thought. You can always return the shade if it's not the correct one.

Question
I need help picking out a foundation color!
I am currently using the Tinted Moisturizer in Sand but would like to try a foundation. The sand seems just a "smidge" dark. I have normal skin. I am a brunette with brown hair. I think my skin is slightly olive / a little yellow undertone. If it helps, MAC NW25 concealer is a pretty good match. Any suggestions? I would like to try Laura Mercier's Silk Creme Foundation.

Beige/Ivory might be the one to try. It's for fair to light skin. It seemed to blend nicely with my yellow undertones although it was a little too light for me. I've tried the Mac NC25, and it was a little too light as well. Although I can't test them side by side anymore, I seem to recall them being fairly similar.
