Questions & Answers for Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadow

Question
Which colors are best for fair skin, pale crystal blue eyes?
I absolutely LOVE Underground for a neutral, can't beat the texture, color-intensity, beautiful shimmer, but I'm looking for something that pops more without overpowering my fair skin and light eyes like Oilslick and Freakshow seems to....I was considering trying Frigid, does anyone have any other suggestions or experience with this color?

I really like the look of Ransom--it's a purple-blue that while bright, can still stay subtle and soft when blended. A little goes a long way. I smudge the creases a bit with Zero to give it a slightly smoky look. It's a surprisingly wearable shade. Hope it works for you!

I have fair to medium skin and bright blue eyes and this is how I wear Underground... I use Sin over the entire lid to the brow bone, then I swipe Underground on just the lid. I used Twice Baked in the crease of the lid and then get a small brush wet and use the Twice Baked wet as a liner in the outter edge corner and the outter bottom lashes. If I want to glitz that up a bit, then I take a brush and dust Midnight Cowboy Rides Again just on the inner half of my lids. Try using some of your shadows wet and you get a more intense shade! Hope that helps = )

I LOVE Frigid. I wear it many ways. I've worn it over black cream liner and that makes the look last all day and gives it a new intensity. You can also mix some water with it to use at a wet shadow, this makes it last longer than dry only. If you use it just dry you'll get a softer look. I also wear it as a liner with other shadows. This is a great color because it's a duo-tone so it has a pretty violet color with a intense blue also. If you're brave wear it using a black base or water during day or night, but if you're more timid then try it dry first and maybe mix with Ransom. This color is pretty with just about every eye color too!. Good Luck!!!

In my opinion, Peace (vibrant blue) seems to be the complement to any skin tone, is can be utilized with your cream shimmers, by blending into the color, or even a white would do, can either come off as a nice day out with the friends look, or even a sophisticated one. Cant go wrong in my opinion. = ]

To heck with the boring brown shade everyone else recommended! :-p
I have brown eyes and I think that the purples make my eyes pop like crazy. Fishnet, Ransom, and Freakshow are amazing. And sometimes I use the turquoise blue color, Peace, because it brings out the honey tones in my eyes. Have fun!

I think Fishnet or Graffiti would compliment brown eyes very nicely, and if those colors are too bright for your taste, you could use them just as eyeliners for a vibrant pop of color.

That is exactly what I was looking for, so I bought this in Underground. It's a nice medium taupe-brown. If you're looking for something a tad lighter, go for Sh*g (it won't let me write that name because it's flagged as "inappropriate language") - it's a tan shade. Both are shimmery and lovely, and both will complement your eyes nicely. Plus, if you want to spruce things up they will go well with any shade of eyeliner.

You describe me in the winter. I tend to tan in the summer. The consultant who helped me used the Shag and Honey shadows with a bright green liner. Then she used a sponge eye shadow applicator and pulled it across the top of my lid to the corner and along the bottom from the middle to the corner. I have had many compliments on this.

I don't own any primer yet, and I would not waste it on this product. This eyeshadow doesn't need it. It never creased and stayed bright all day. I get compliments on it all the time, even after hours of wear. Don't let a primer stop you from buying this eyeshadow, because this is really a phenomenal product.

So just stick with the matte eyeshadows that they already have.

Navy/Midnight blue?
Does UD make a shadow that is more of a true dark navy/midnight blue without a whole lot of glitter? I love the pigmentation of UD and really want to stick with this brand if I can. I tried "Frigid" based on how it looked online, but that one was definitely more of the purple- pretty, but not what I was looking for! Help!

Unfortunately, I haven't found anything from Urban Decay that wasn't navy blue & sparkly :( I've been looking for it too! I ended up purchasing Make Up For Ever's Navy Blue 60 (http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P12633&categoryId=S10501&shouldPaginate=true) that was very pigmented & wasn't jam-packed full of glitter. Honey is not a cream shadow, it is a pressed powder that is so rich it almost feels creamy - but I promise, its pressed powder.

I guess the best way to describe honey would be, metallic gold. It is very shimmery, which gives it the metallic appearance - there is no chunky glitter in this shadow. The base color is slightly too dark to call it "yellow" but when the light hits it, it can reflect some yellow-goldy tones - does that make sense?

Its a truly gorgeous color that I think would look amazing on any skin tone.

I'm always a bit nervous when using bright colors, but sometimes they can work to your advantage! Usually I try to either put a thin line on the upper lash line for a little pop of color (and these don't fade at all, they're amazing when it comes to that), or i put some in the very outer corner and then pull down to the outer part of my lower lashline.

Hope this helped!

don't be scared of colours or having your eyes pop. I personally like to use most of the really bright colours (esp pink and green) with a light/pale shadow on the inside and UD blended on the corners or UD on the inside with a thick black/darker shade on the outside. Usually that leaves just the right amount of colour.
I also use a thin line of UD below my lower lash line, below kohl or eyeliner. It can take a basic smokey eye to a new level.
