Questions & Answers for Stila #28 Smudge Pot Brush

Question
Is this brush good for other gel liners such as hip/mac's, or is it only good for the smudge pot?

This brush is excellent for any good gel eyeliner. The problem is that there are few really good gel eyeliners. I've only ever used one other gel eyeliner aside from Stila's smudge pot and I was very sorry I had. I had even used a different applicator for that particular eyeliner as well. Have no fear, this brush will take care of you!

I don't know, because I have a clinique smudge pot and I plan on trying it with it. Haven't done it yet cause I've been using all my new colors I just bought. I will right in again and let you know. I can't see why not though.

Question
What is the best way to clean eyeliner brushes ?
I used soap and water to wash another eyeliner brush, which made it really soft, thus difficult to apply the liner. I was told to use cleansing milk instead to keep the brush stiff . Would I have to do the same for the Stila eyeliner smudge pot brush ? Thanks very much !

I use a Bare Escentuals Well Cared For brush shampoo, and let it dry overnight. When I'm in a rush I will use Sephora's Daily Brush Cleaner To Go, it is a color change spray as well since the brush will dry faster using this method. It will do the trick till I can wash it. The shampoo really cleanses it, and it's like a brand new brush the next morning! Hope this helps!

I use Smashbox brush cleaner with mine. http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P37283&shouldPaginate=true&categoryId=3990
I also give it a deep clean regularly with baby shampoo.

Question
This brush or the tiny brush in the Smudge Pot Trio
How does this brush compare to the tiny brush included in the Smudge Pot Trio? I've been using the tiny brush and although I like the results I'm still not satisfied. I want to get a thin line that is really super close to the lashes. For the tiny brush, I get a thicker line and sometimes I poke my lashes and get the make up on my eyelashes. Please help! Thank you!

This brush is much better than the mini brush at making a thin line very close to the lash.

Question
Stila Brush #28
Can you provide information about how to care for this brush? My assumption was that since it is used near the eyes, it should be washed frequently. HOWEVER, washing the fine end frequently seems to make the brush lose its shape and it becomes ineffective at drawing fine lines.

Thanks!
